3 out of 5 eggsIt has a fan

Pros: It arrived, I'm sure it works.

Cons: The picture shows a card with no fan. The card I received has a heatsink and a fan. The picture is misleading.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a card with no fan.

5 out of 5 eggsNice price, great silent card

Pros: Very low price for what you get, probably not the best card for gaming but thats not what i bought it for. The machine this went into is used for artwork using PhotoShop, Illustrator, Corel and a host of other art programs. having the 512 of onboard memory really helps out with the bigger files. Funny thing is I didnt expect it to but files as big as 120 mb would open in 40 seconds before and now open in less than 20. I was very surprised and happy that this helped out with my loading times.

Cons: None this is a great product!

Other Thoughts: Like I said this went into an art machine and thats why I opted for the silent cooling. my machine is barley noticeable when its turned on....nice and cool too!!!!!.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, but could be better

Pros: -Good ram size
-Good price

Cons: Documentation is horrible. It's one fold out page with English on one side and an Asian script on the other - I think Korean. In particular, it says to ensure you plug in power for the card, but there's no power plug on the card; biostar puts it on the motherboard.

Also, I had to reinstall Windows to get it to work after installing the card. It would boot, then simply stop as soon as the "loading" sequence was done. I could not get into safe mode, vga mode, debug mode or command prompt. The repair utility also restarted when I tried to use it form the restore disk.

I was able to use it fine after reinstalling. Also, it would not be recognized in Linux as a valid screen, even after reconfiguring xserver-xorg. I ended up having to load from the LiveCD in SafeGraphics mode and copy over the screen section of xorg.conf.

Other Thoughts: The added overclock utility, which was easy to use, if not exceptional, on the biostar motherbaord failed to work correctly for the graphics card. Autoclock generated errors and any attempt to move past super trivial overclocking caused either a test fail or catastrophic system crash.

Also, it has no fan, just a large heatsink that takes up an additional pci slot.

It's not a bad card, but don't look to do anything special with it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great card for 50 bucks! Can play Crysis Demo on Low settings without a hiccup. I'm not real big on gaming, but figured I'd try it out anyway. Not for Extreme gaming (of course). It is OC'able. Haven't tried that yet.

Cons: None for me
