5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Graphics card for budget system

Pros: Easy Install, great price, works well in XP and Ubuntu

Cons: Won't get you laid

Other Thoughts: The card installed flawlessly into my (admittedly aged) Intel 865GLC motherboard and Windows XP accepted the drivers immediately. I could not have asked for an easier install with windows. I also dual boot with Ubuntu and had to update my repositories and enable the restricted driver. Its much easier if you use EnvyNG. took me a little bit to get it perfect but it was well worth it. Hope this helps someone. But this card is great for Ubuntu and probably any other Linux Distribution

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value.

Pros: Price. 6800 chipset not a compromise in its day--it was tops for awhile. Not fanless--Zalman bracket fan not nec. Comes with OC utiility on driver disk. Better than 6200 series. Uses full size power dongle instead of idiotic floppy-sized connector.

Cons: 64-bit bus hampers performance severely of otherwise good VPU. Power dongle necessary on 6800 series. No bundled software other than legacy drivers and OC software (such as DVD player, etc.). Only cable is simple S-video to composite converter cable.

Other Thoughts: I ran several benchmarks on this, and my deceased X800XT AIW was better, especially on Aquamartk 3. On some tests, 6800XT was superior in some ways. MB (old one died also) is slightly different, but as comparable as possible these days. Most higher-end AGP cards these days are severely dumbed-down from PCI-E versions--this can cause problems. The 6800 was intended for PCI-e, also, but likely not as dumbed down. Favored older legacy chipset cards (9800, 9700--ATi, 5900--nVidia) no longer exist new. Conversely, such low end cards as the 9600, 9200(SE), 9250, and 7000 from ATi, 5200, 5500, and 440MX fromn nVidia are being fabricated still, nowadays, however: Go figure! These players stick around like an unwanted season. (OK, they should stay, but I'm interested in purchasing other cards with better chipsets that were intended for AGP.) Anyway, I'm very interested in the upgraded, less hampered version of this, now available on Newegg, from value-based MB fabricator, Biostar.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: It's a nice card for my AGP motherboard that provided a significant upgrade/repair from my 6200 SE.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For the cost of AGP cards these days, this was a good value.
