5 out of 5 eggsfreightliner of video cards

Pros: This card is the freightliner of video cards and is worth all of the space and power it eats up. Fast as heck and performance rocks. Crysis and COD4 (on XP)has been unreal, no issues or crashes, (that is, after upgrading my power supply to accomidate the beeeyotch). The fan is quiet compared to my old 512 7950 GTO.

Cons: Don't kid yourself about the power supply. I tried getting by with the stock istar 650 Watt power supply, (which is a joke in itslef), that came with the case and the first time I fired up crysis it lasted a few minutes and the system completely shutdown. After I upgraded to a thermaltake 1200 watt power source (trying to future proof), its been smooth sailing. Also, make sure your case can fit the card, my case is a full tower iStar case and the card just fit, barely.

Other Thoughts: Save up your ducks and buy this card, biznartch.

5 out of 5 eggsWow.

Pros: Amazingly fast card. Enough memory to run Crysis @ 1680x1050 on high graphics smoothly. Comes overclocked from BFG. It takes anything I throw at it and thats exactly what I wanted it to do. Bragging rights :D

Cons: Lets just say i'm glad I have a full size case with a large PSU. GTX falls short only a few frames so the price/performance isnt that great. For the price they could've thrown a game in.

Other Thoughts: Scored 12,960 on the 3dmark06 test with the following rig:
2x FX-74 3.00 Ghz
Asus L1N64-SLI WS Motherboard
Raptor X HDD
750w PSU

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Well, its one of the best there is, and it dominates everything i throw at it.

Cons: The price, and it gets rather hot, but im sure its made for it. Other than that, there is no cons.

Other Thoughts: This card is my xmas gift and man it rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Plays all games at Max Settings, my current 3dMark06 score with a QX6800 is 14,700. It also keeps my office warm.

Cons: Its hot, heavy, and long....I dont have two of them in SLI.

Other Thoughts: Cannot play Crysis at max settings until Crytek releases the first performance patch #1, my card currently runs 20fps average with no AA. If you have the cash buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW !!

Pros: Way Fast,,,I was going to buy the 1Gb card from ATI till I started reading the comparisons. Glad I went w/ this one. 3D Mark 2006 is 12599 w/ no O/C on the other components.
It keeps my office warm in the winter.

Cons: The electric bill.

Other Thoughts: Better invest in a super tower & a lot of air to keep this puppy cool.
Gonna SLi when the price comes down a bit.

4 out of 5 eggsBFG Tech

Pros: Extremely Powerful.

Cons: Pricey, Consumes a lot of power, Very big, and extremely hot.

Other Thoughts: Depending on how bad you would/need this video. I would suggest something different. This one heats up very fast and is very long. It is also very pricey. If you don't have at least 850W-1KW PS, I wouldn't recommend this to you. All games out now still play decently and good on other lower end video cards. I would suggest wait until the decline in price before purchasing this for $xxx.

5 out of 5 eggs8800

Pros: It's a beast. I was running a 7950GX2 which is far from a low end card and got this puppy. All I can really say is wow.... It's amazing

Cons: It's really really really LONG and it seems to be really hot even with all the fans I have in my case. Which I am sure that BFG accounts for and does not hurt the card at all

Other Thoughts: Check the measurements in your case to make sure it will fit length wise. No need for SLI with this thing unless you like to waste a bunch of money on something you will probably never need.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Incredible performance, worth every penny and one of my greatest investments.

Cons: Too darn hot, I will probably get a new cooler.

Other Thoughts: Great card! Recommend it to anyone. It’ll fit in your case, don’t worry about that. What you need to worry about is the heat. This card IS HOT! Overclocked HOT! I was playing Supreme Commander for five hours and it froze up. I had to restart my system and let it cool off for awhile before I starting up the game again. I recommend getting either nice airflow from a case fan or try to make the internal temps of your system as low as possible. Other than that, this card as yet to lag any game I through at it. Elder Scrolls IV was a breeze, played as smooth as Starcraft, even with all settings high and super retexture modding, no lagging what-so-ever. Don’t need SLI for this, just get it!

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield OC to 3.2GHz
Video card: BFG Tech Geforce 8800Ultra 768MB GDDR3 384-Bit PCI-E16
Mobo: ASUS P5W DH Deluxe/WiFi-AP LGA 775 Intel 975X
RAM: 4GB pack of DDR2 800, forgot the manufacture.
Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB Sata3

4 out of 5 eggsBFG 8800 Ultra OC 768MB

Pros: It is a good card for current games.

Cons: The air cooled card runs hot and the 3d core was running at the incorrect speed of 621MHz, while it should have been at 630MHz (a BFG Problem). BFG tech verified the BIOS was faulty, so unfortunately, I had to RMA the card back to Newwegg for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully, Newegg will expedite the replacement policy.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great performance, of course anything less would be a sin. I purchased this specifically to handle Bioshock on high settings and gameplay is now very smooth (upgrade from BFG 7590 GT OC).

Cons: This card is very long. Expect to be doing some hard drive re-arrangement unless you have an enormous case. Also, on my motherboard 3 of my 6 SATA connectors are too obstructed to use at all. Since I only have 2 SATA drives it was not a problem but something to keep in mind in a drive heavy system.

Other Thoughts: The card is essentially just a GTX with a new cooler and higher clocks. Although a GTX could have it's core and memory clocked up to the Ultra, the shader clock is locked, so the Ultra is the only way to raise that one.
