NVIDIA's 200 series of graphics cards combines cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities for best-in-class performance. The GTX280 boasts 2nd Generation NVIDIA Unified Architecture solution for all your most demanding graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface. The GTX280 supports 3-way SLI to seriously crank your performance options by using up to three graphics cards for insane flow rates.
The card's core clock runs at 602MHz, relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the GTX280's 240 stream processors fed by 1GB of 512-bit 2214MHz GDDR3 memory. Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors. Support for DirectX 10, OpenGL 2.1, NVIDIA's PureVideoHD, CUDA and PhysX-ready are built in to render even the most intense environmental effects or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.
The GTX280 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with solid performance. If your motherboard can take it, the GTX280 can dish it out.

- Pros: Extremely fast. Age of Conan is running at max settings. Other games are all maxed out as well. I get the feeling this card will last me a long time, performance and hardware wise. Be sure to register your life time warranty within 30days of purchase.
- Cons: It's new so the price is very high, but it will drop over time like normal. The power connectors are kind of annoying, you got a 6 and 8 pin PCIE connector and both must be plugged in. BFG supplies converter connectors. Just a minor complaint.
- Other Thoughts: Be sure you have an appropriate PSU. This card is running happily using a CORSAIR 620w modular PSU. For a great review of the GTX 2XX series head over to the HardOCP website.
awesome card
- Pros: GTA IV runs beautifully with this. This is my first really high end card, and man it is just beautiful.
The HDMI adapter is awesome, as is the internal SPDIF cable to connect to your sound card for those who wish to game or watch movies on their TV, less cables to have to run.
- Cons: Always been my dream to have a video card longer than my pen is. Measure your case and make sure you have at least 15 inches free to account for both card itself and airflow as there are intake slits at the tail end. This might mean sacrificing a hard drive slot if you have a shorter case.
- Other Thoughts: make sure you leave room at the tail end of the card, there are air slots at the end, and if your hard drives are blocking these, it will not get enough airflow.
Don't be an idiot and forget to remove the plastic on the back as there are intake slits there too.

BFG 280 rocks
- Pros: this card rocks had a small conflict at first called bfgtech they stayed on the phone till the problem was solved thanks newegg and thank you BFGtech
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: i dont understand why the complaints of the size of this card it big it fast and it just plain rocks besides most all of the new cards are hugh if it is to big for you get a bigger case oh and a a minimum power supply 750watts.
Great Card
- Pros: Great performance ,is not that loud unless you crank up the fan to a 100%.I useally keep my at 60% and the noise is fine and it keeps it cool plus my case has a 230mm fan blowing on them. They overclock decent to .
My first one was a BFG GTX 280 OCX and it ame factory overclocked to 665/1458/2400,but I found that this one was cheaper and would overclock to the same as the OCX .so I just save some money .And at $259 plus a free game and free shipping, this is a unbeatable deal. Running TRI SLI is just as fast as 2 GTX295's in quad in most ever game faster in some and a little bit slower in others .But a 295 will set you back around $570 and two of these are cheaper and is faster in ever game then a 295 and the extra ram comes in handy when useing SLI FSAA and aniso.Plus BFG has a lifetime warranty and a 100 day step-up program.About $100 cheaper then a GTX285 and really runs no hotter, and uses just about 30 more watts.
- Cons: It hard to find a con when you can get one of the fastest cards out today for $259 and a free game and Free shipping. But if I nit pick this card does need a good power supply at least a 650watt one.
- Other Thoughts: BFG has great customer support ,plus a lifetime warranty and a 100 day step-up program.I was'nt going to go TRI SLI but at this price, made it hard not to plus a game that I did'nt have yet.I paid amost as much as three of these woud cost on a single card years back.It a good time to buy a fast card even if it is not this brand.
Hot to Trot
- Pros: This is a nice and powerful GPU. 1 gb of RAM and no arguments here. Dual DVI and HDMI capable so this thing is ready to go, just gotta go out and use it.
- Cons: It runs a little hot for my tastes but I suppose that is to be expected from a GPU these days. I've got a huge case with fans surrounding the thing and it still breathes fire but I don't forsee it being a serious Con.
This thing is massive. I was winded after I saw how big it was. It takes up 2 expansion bays at the back of the tower. Of course, I'd like to think all that room hogging will be worthwhile.
- Other Thoughts: Though it is huge and hot, it is a powerful card. I haven't had any reasons to complain yet.
If you have space in your case, pick yourself up one.
