1 out of 5 eggsout of motherboard/hard drive

Pros: none

Cons: Took its sweet time gettingb here. Card ran hot for the week and a half it ran. Heatsink is NOT heat sink but rather a flat peice of metal with a plastic fan on it. Damaged my hard drive and sata controller on my motherboard. Also melted the PCI express port that was holding it in. And the funny thing. I had to use a screw driver to pull the card free of the melted PCI express slot, the heatseat/fan assembly fell right off the card after removal.

Other Thoughts: BFG is a joke. I hope they go out of bussinues soon I sure hope they read this review. They clain that it wasn't thier card but my power supply that caused the damage. Not true. PS is an antec 600 watt and I had already sent it back in for testing just to be sure after passing a test run in my other machine running 2 9800 gt in SLi. I now have to pay for a new motherboard and hard drive due to the damage done by this card. Hope you have good lawyers BFG, im fixing to collect for the damages you owe me. You will hear from my lawyer soon enough, hope you think wisely before making such a cheap piece of nothing.

1 out of 5 eggsFan Problems out of the box

Pros: cheap for the power it provides

Cons: I think I just got a bad card/ fan on the card the fan was making noises with in the first hour then stopped and I had to manually spin it with my finger as I game allot spooked me enough to RMA the card for replacement.

Other Thoughts: I have bought many BFG products 20 over the last 4-5 years this is the only one I have erver had a problem with.

1 out of 5 eggsCard Lasted Less Than 2 Weeks

Pros: I can't find a pro to say about a card that stopped working in a new system less than 2 weeks old.

Cons: This card was placed in a new build, and in less than 2 weeks it stopped working. I smelled something burning and, when I opened up the case I discovered that the fan had warped and stopped working, and the card was so hot I couldn't touch it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little videocard

Pros: Bought the card for a Linux build for a friend of mine. His machine has been running nonstop with 190.53 series drivers for a little over a month now with nary a hiccup. Card includes low profile bracket for the HTPC crowd, and the usual little S-Video to Component cable.

Cons: None. Card works wonderfully for it's intended use.

Other Thoughts: The card is driving an Ubuntu 9.10 rig with Compiz and Emerald running, and all the bells and whistles turned on. As always, Newegg shipping was top notch.

4 out of 5 eggs9400GT

Pros: I got it cheap around $25
Low Profile
Low Power draw
Came with a couple of different back plates for low pro installs.

Cons: There seems to be a glitch with High res analog monitors on with these cards. I dont know if its the card or the driver. I tried 3 drivers over the past few months.
Running with a standard vga cable at 1680x1050 or higher you get a fuzzy picture, I can't figure out how to clean it up. If you run at 1280x1024 the picture is nice and crisp. If I use one of the DVI monitors then the pic is fine. We have a couple of 7600s and they are not fuzzy.

Other Thoughts: I have a couple of 8400s and 9400s we use them so the programers can have dual displays.
Like I said they work ok, but the guys that have the older analog widescreens have to deal with a slightly fuzzy pic.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Card

Pros: great resolution, no actual problem there.

Cons: I only used this card for 2 weeks. And then I smelled burning. I opened the case of the system and found the fan and housing had melted.
I will not purchase another card from this manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: I called BFG's customer service and was on hold for a considerable amount of time.
I am still on hold as I write this review.

3 out of 5 eggsCooling fan is junk

Pros: The performance was wonderful when I first installed it in my machine. Best frame rates I have seen on this machine.

BFG has pretty good customer service. 24/7 - 365

Cons: After less than a month, the cooling fan started grinding and eventually stopped. Called up BFG, they sent a new one in about 3 days. I've had the new one for about 3 weeks and it's also starting to have the same exact problem.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, if it weren't for the junk fan that they used for the GPU heatsink this would be an amazing card for the price. I'm looking now to see if I can find a new fan that will fit the heatsink instead of replacing the card all together.
