3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works fine for 1280x1024

Cons: No good for watching HD video or games

Other Thoughts: Bought this card to support my monitor array. 3 LCDs connected, two to a high performance card and one to this one. This card does fine with holding IM windows, task manager, graphing tools etc but couldn't hold the load when playing a DVD while using a programming IDE on the other two.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Video Card

Pros: Standard PCI connection for older PC's, relatively low power consumption, DVI and VGA connections, easy install and working fine

Cons: Some slight artifacts were visible on DVD video playback, can't tell if it is the card or some other part of the system

Other Thoughts: Needed DVI to go to a plasma tv with a DVI-M to HDMI-M cable, and it does the trick. The nVidia utility permits good control over the image.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great for more monitors

Pros: - Cheap
- Compatible with my GeForce 8800 GT
- Great for adding extra monitors

Cons: - The driver XP auto-installed for it caused my system to crash during boot. Had to safe-mode and install drives which came with it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card so I could add more monitors onto my system (up to 3 now), and for that so far it is working great.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT

Pros: This card is very good especially for those blessed with PCI interface. mine came defualt on multiple monitors, so it didn't give its full potential until i put it on single monitor mode. plus CHaintech makes great cards, i have used them on other builds.

Cons: came defualt on multiple monitor settings, quick change and it is a great card. cant use it to play COD 5 or Fallout 3. But that is what graduation party money is for. Good card until you upgrade to a whole new system.

Other Thoughts: Great for those who need to spread new life inot that old mobo. comes with S-video DVI adn D-sub.
Put into old dell dimension 2300
Dell mobo
256+512 Sdram
Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
Pentuim 4 1.8GHZ

Great build

4 out of 5 eggsGood for Standard PC Use

Pros: I have and old Dell Dimension 4500S w/o PCI-e or AGP. This card was much faster than my onboard Intel 82845. I have not done any gaming with this card (I'm not a gamer), but I imagine it shouldn't be too bad. Windows was actually tolerable with this card installed.

Cons: I couldn't get it working under Linux (Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, OpenSUSE 11.1), but that was the Intel card's fault.

Other Thoughts: Good for PCI only MOBOs. I really like the upgrade for my seven year old computer.

4 out of 5 eggsdoes the job

Pros: you'll be able to run vista and some older dx9 ps2.0 games. it's also good enough to power smaller monitors (1600x1200)

128mb of ddr and dx9 compliance, these are baseline specs for vista premium ready logo.

it's got enough power to get the job done...

Cons: ...just as long as the job isn't crysis or fear2. you can play older games (farcry, fear 1) just fine with certain options tweaked.

-no h264 hardware acceleration (get an 8 series)
-older pci standard (you should know this already)
-newer onboard gpus should actually get you better results

these aren't cons against the card. it's a solid performer!

Other Thoughts: a good buy, just for what it was intended to be. a toss in for another (smaller) monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsgood and bad

Pros: nice fx

Cons: max res is a bit lower than stated, and the card makes my pc run nearly 10x slower than w/out it installed

Other Thoughts: decent bang for the buck, but i cannot deal with the slowness its making my pc run at. im trying to return the card but some reason newegg isnt processing my rma ;'(

4 out of 5 eggsDVI Resolution Capability Not Up To Par!

Pros: Neat little card; serves a niche purpose.

Cons: Specification page says "Max Resolution 2048 x 1536"
What they aren't saying is you can't get that resolution on the DVI connector!

WRITTEN ON BACK OF THE BOX: "DVI Support for compatibility with next-generation flat panel displays with resolutions up to and including 1600x1200"

This would have been nice to know, since I bought the card to operate with a 22" widescreen LCD running at 1680x1050. This card will NOT do that resolution on the DVI port.

Besides that collosal waste of time, which caused me to return the card, the card was just fine.

Other Thoughts: 4 Stars. Good card, lousy advertising.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Plugged it in and it worked. WinXP recognized and installed drivers automatically. Quiet fan.

Cons: None to my knowledge

Other Thoughts: This purchase was a video upgrade for a Dell Dimension 3000 and I wanted an inexpensive PCI video card. This card met and exceeded my expectations in price and quality.
