5 out of 5 eggsLast Major Upgrade To My 3yr. Old PC

Pros: My desktop PC was bought way back in August 2004 and at the time was pretty powerful. Flash-forward to nowadays and my P4 3.0GHz machine just can't do what I want...and specifically, I wanted Crysis and the ability to play games/videos at my monitor's 1680x1050 resolution. This card alone bumbed my 3Dmark '06 score from 650 (w/ my 256MB Radeon X1300) to 2490. I can now play Crysis on Medium at 960x600 and most other games at full resolution @ 30fps or higher.

Cons: Absolutely none. NewEgg's shipping is extremely fast also.

Other Thoughts: This is really the best AGP card money can buy. The 7800 series are overclocked and from what I read prone to overheating and dying early. THIS is the card to buy.

5 out of 5 eggsbest choice

Pros: I have an old socket A mobo, with agp, and an old ati radeon 9600XT and it was time for a major upgrade. This is an awesome card, and works flawlessly in linux! No more fussing ati drivers, and real awesome eye candy and gaming on my linux box now!

If your trying to find a good agp card like myself (and dont want to drop a fortune on a pcie) this is the card to get. the gddr3 is a great deal faster even though it has less memory! big difference that is worth the extra few dollars!

Cons: the box had m$ logos that I had to dutifully burn :)

Other Thoughts: Works excellent with linux (better than it ever could with m$)
compiz-fuison is running excellent with this card! NO LAG with dual monitors!

linux users make sure to change your xorg.conf. driver should be nvidia, and add nvida to your modules in rc.conf :)

Archlinux (with xfce4)

5 out of 5 eggsWhat A Great Video Card

Pros: I had a Geforce 5500, I thought that was great and easy to install. Man Did this one blow me away. I love running it with my new LCD 19"Wide Screen. The Games look even Better. Well Im buying another for my other computer.

Cons: It was a little Glitchy when I put in it. Toke me about an Hour to find out that I had to uninstall all the Video Drivers from the old card. I almost gave up.

Other Thoughts: After getting it installed I ran alot of my games on the Highest Settings Oh MY was I happy. Like a little kid with lots of candy and a new dog, bike, girlfriend, and like the day my son was born.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card paired with 24" LCD

Pros: Runs games with much better settings than my old Nvidia 6200. Everything looks smoother and crisper. Dropped right and started running. Still had to reinstall drivers even though I already had the latest ones for my previous card but that is pretty minor. Card runs at advertised speeds, but be aware that 1500 Mhz on the Memory clock will not show the same in your settings. Memmory is DDR so will show up as 750 Mhz.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Picked up the board I am using now used about a year ago and it sat in a box untill about 3 months ago. Dropped in and Athlon 64 4200+x2 with 1gb dual channel cas 2 latency ram at 333 Mhz. 250GB SATA HDD and now this 7600GT Nividia card. Paired with a 24" 2ms response LCD. System and card is running great and looks sweet.

Next move will be full upgrade to system but still total cost to me with current parts minus monitor is 600 including XP Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsMy PC is BACK!

Pros: Quiet, stays cool even after hours of heavy gaming. Easy to install, really compliments the rest of my system well.

Cons: I never had a card that had to plug into the PSU before. Its not a hugh deal, as its pretty much the norm these days. But i had a 350w PSU which the manufaturer said was enough. But to be safe i bought a 500w PSU. So in reality the card cost me around $220 ($140 for the card, $70 for the PSU) So if your gonna need a beefier PSU to use the card, take that into consideration, but if you ask me its totally worth it.

Other Thoughts: I have a P4 2.6ghz 1gig DDR(400) RAM. So no super system here. I replaced a PNY GF 6200 256mb. It was a decent card. But i had to run my favorite games in low resolutions, with no shadows to get decent fps.. In the Doom3 games (Doom3 Quake4 Prey) i used to have to play them on medium quality at 800 x 640 rez to get a good fps. With this card, i can play them in Ultra quality, at 1600 x 1200 and its smooth as silk. I can also play Bioshock, COD4, FEAR, Oblvion, Hellgate London, Jericho, all at 1024 x 768 with all gfx options on.

2 out of 5 eggsArtifact Monster

Pros: It looks cool.

Cons: After around 10 months the card will not play games without artifacts. I have tried just about everything to resurrect it. Drivers, Bios, Clock settings. Installed it into a different system. No change.

Other Thoughts: Over the past year I have not played nearly much as I used to. I never over clocked it as it was super fast for Q3, ET and fast enough for me in Q4 and COD2. I guess it's time to build a new system anyway. My suggestion is to save your money and build a new system with PCIE. Or if you just want to be stubborn like I was find the LEADTEK version of this card. I still have my old LEADTEK GF2 GTS , A LEADTEK FX5900 and there still working as good as new over all the years.

5 out of 5 eggsTHE LAST UPGRADE FOR ME

Pros: Got this card to extend the life of a socket 939 agp board, replaced a XFX Gforce 7600GS with 512 mb memory, all though the old card performed rather good it does not compare to the XFX Gforce 7600GT extreme! almost double the frame rates in 3D Mark 03, have not had a chance to see how it stacks up in 3D Mark 05 or 06 but assume it should do OK. Seeing how AGP is a dying standard and PCI-E is by far a better choice, this card will give me a year to get the funding and specs together for my next build sometimne in 08

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am not a hardcore gamer but do some rather intense gaming and this card will get the job done nicely.

5 out of 5 eggsgood upgrade

Pros: Good upgrade -I had an ATI X1950XT AGP but it crapped out after 2months - replaced with this - works well - can't beat newegg - got it in 1 day

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Will hold me over till my system gives out and I have to do the full system upgrade
