It doesn’t get much better than this. A GeForce 8800GTX running at 600MHz and 768MB of GDDR3 memory drive this powerhouse from XFX. Do we really need to mention that it’s DirectX 10 compliant, and that both DVI-I ports are dual-link, or that it’s SLI ready? I didn’t think so.

All that power drives the Lumenex engine for lightning fast anti-aliasing and HDR Lighting for stunning realism. The Quantum Effects Technology utilizes advanced shader processors to deliver an entirely new level of physics effects that are rendered on the GPU leaving the CPU free to run the game engine and the AI.

The built in PureVideo HD Technology was specifically designed to enhance your HD experience. Built in hardware decode acceleration of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and SD movies provides a theater-like experience. The HDCP compliant dual-link DVI ports allow you to play your HD-DVD and Blu-ray Discs.

  • newegg NVIDIA Unified Architecture with GigaThread Technology The fully-unified shader core dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics and pixel shading operations, delivering incredibly true-to-life 3D graphics. In addition, the massively multi-threaded architecture supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Support The DirectX 10 GPU with full Shader Model 4.0 support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.
  • newegg NVIDIA Lumenex Engine The NVIDIA Lumenex Engine supports 128-bit and 64-bit floating point HDR with up to 16x anti-aliasing, delivering vividly realistic lighting effects while obliterating “jaggies”.
  • newegg NVIDIA SLI Technology Delivers up to 2X the performance of a single GPU configuration for unmatchable gaming experiences. The must-have feature for PCI Express graphics, NVIDIA SLI technology allows two graphics cards to run in parallel and dramatically scales performance on today's hottest games.
  • newegg Built for Microsoft Windows Vista Built for Windows Vista, NVIDIA's fourth-generation GPU architecture offers users the best possible experience using the Windows Aero 3D graphical user interface available in Microsoft latest operating system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Video Card

Pros: Fast and has plenty of memory. Most games will run on highest settings.

Cons: Too big, may not fit in mid case with 2 or more HDDs. I had to cut out piece of frame to fit it in. May block way to some of the jumpers on the motherboard. Interface is only PCI Express x16 1.0 (not 2.0). I think it needs additional cooling. Also requires more power then usual (I believe spec says 450W). For some reason can not play "Splinter Cell: Double Agent" on it - crashes (probably driver issue).

Other Thoughts: Requires two 6-PIN PCI Express power connectors. Make sure that your power unit has two (2) of them. Manual says that splitting one into two is not a good idea. Also, there is no VGA interface, it has only DVI. Consider getting full tower case because it is very big.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the Best!

Pros: Great chipset and super fast video card with 756 Mb of on board GPU ram, it was more then enough to handle Crysis & CoD4 at Very High Quality. 3D Mark 06 score was over 12,000 with no over clocking.

Cons: Large full length card, could be a problem for some cases. XFX has no real forum or support system. Had to use EVGA for support.

Other Thoughts: System Spec's: Asus P5E, Intel Core 2 Q6600, XFX 8800GTX, Raptor X Hard Drive
3Dmark06: 1,188
Crysis Demo Benchmark: Avg. 21.8 FPS ( Very High Quality, 1280x1024)

1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: Worked very good while it was working in my computer everything worked nice.

Cons: It only worked for 8 hours then it sparked and my screen turned pink so i had to return it. And the replacement took a week to get there and would take another wee for me to get so just got a refund.

Other Thoughts: Went ahead and just bought a gx2 and am very happy with it if you have the money go and get one of those they are amazing!

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely a beast

Pros: Absolutely love this card. Once I set the fan to a 100% I've been able to run it at 621/1600/2000. All games run increedibly well on high res, and there have been no problems with it. Coupled with a double warranty you can't go wrong!

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent card that is capable of handling the most intense games and graphic programs out there.

Cons: Two things:
1. It's huge. I have a full-size case and I had to put it in sideways before lining up the slots and that's with no other PCI cards in.
2. XFX does not keep up their end of the rebate bargain. I purchased mine days before the rebate ended and they would not accept it. I don't know if it's because I'm in the military overseas or what but no one else has this problem.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget to make sure your power supply has dedicated lines for the video card.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the price

Pros: Call of Duty 4 looks amazing with this graphics card. Any game that I can come up, it runs perfectly. INCLUDE CRYSIS. If you have the budget, buy this card!

Cons: Size. It fits great in my case but it is a bit bulky

5 out of 5 eggsIncredibly Fast

Pros: Very very fast... runs Crysis on High settings no problem (I don't have Vista so can't test Ultra High). This card runs anything you throw at it (as long as the rest of your system is on par). I love this card!

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I debated getting this card or the GTS for awhile, because of the price difference... but I'm very glad I went with this card. Make sure you have a large PSU!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: FAST, Great video quality, SLI ready for running 2 video cards.

Cons: Spits out a lot of heat but I expected that.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have good enough air circulation in your tower to overcome the heat. I would definately suggest 1 120mm fan for exhaust and 1 120mm fan for intake.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the money

Pros: Fast, plenty of memory, Runs everything i have at full settings without skipping a beat, CoD4 no problem, TF2 No problem, CS:Source no problem. This card alone will run every game out there right now on high settings.

Cons: Big, runs hot 50C+ i would recommend taking a look at getting an aftermarket cooler to help extend the life of the card.

Other Thoughts: No joke this card is huge i have a thermaltake koldaf case (which is a full size ATX tower) and it takes up just about half the length of the case. Now that the price on this has droped below $500 i would recommend this over the 8800GT seeing as how one of these cards will last you for the next couple of years, or you could wait for the 8900 series to come out.
