1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Cheap, shipped fast, only took about a day to get to my house, after it left the warehouse.

Cons: Defective, i had to send it back after trying it in two computers,
it crashed one of them, and the other it just froze in a black screen with a underscore flashing in the top left. I sent it back to Newegg, and i asked for a replacement but instead they gave me a refund since they were sold out. (but now is in stock)

Other Thoughts: It didn't come with COH, but since it says while supplies last, i can't really complain about that much, and the shipping and handling was good when i received it, however when i RMA'd it, i expected them to refund the price of the shipping, however they didn't.

Manufacturer Response:

This card requires a special power adapter that ships with it. Make sure that you use this adapter with the card for sufficient power. If you run in to any issues please contact us at xfxforce.com or me directly at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com

5 out of 5 eggsPretty decent low price sli

Pros: Swapped between a few ati and nvidia cards, tried XFX and these things run beautifully, in sli i can run crysis on high (not extreme ofc) at a stable 60 fps in 1680 x 1050 through most of it.

Cons: These cards do not agree well with some shaders i find, but it might be the chipset.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: very fast, runs crysis on medium high settings, makes older games look better than i expected. The lights add a nice effect.

Cons: i get a constant 54* out of this card idk if the sensor is messed up or what but even running high end game the temp only fluctuates a couple of degrees.

Other Thoughts: Great card for the price, make sure you use the adapter that comes with it or u won't get it ti wirk since pci-e adapter doesn't provide enough juice.

4 out of 5 eggsbumpy at first

Pros: can run S.T.A.L.K.E.R at maxed out settings. Winamp visualizations performance improved. 3d AutoCad and Revit performance better.

Cons: does not like my Sabrent SBT-RDIT Silicon Image Ultra ATA 100/133 IDE RAID PCI Controller Card, had to remove, could be something else entirely. Went from 256 mb 7600 gs to 8600 gts

Other Thoughts: guess i missed out on the free Company of Heroes :(

5 out of 5 eggsThis card rocks

Pros: Solid design, quality cooling fan, green LED back-lit XFX logo on the side of the card, and only takes up one slot.

Cons: Draws a little more power than a normal card in this class.

Other Thoughts: As with the other suggestions, use the included power adapter and plug in two 12V molex connections from your power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsTo XFX fan

Pros: The web site is not lyeing to any one. the memory chips are 128 bit ramchips. However, the card has a 256 bit ring bus interface. In order to use the full ring bus @ 256bit you must supply it with the 5v plus 12v that is supplied in the 4 pin molexes. Simply connecting a 6 pin PCI-E connector leaves out the 5v needed to activate the full ring bus. that is the reason for the adapter that comes with the card. Connect two 4 pin molexes to the adapter then plug the 6 pin part to the card, it's that simple. Keep in mind that the ring bus is composed of two halves 128 bit each. Riva will recognize the fact that there is a 128 bit bus present and that the mem is 128 bit. It isn't lyeing either it simply isn't telling the whole story.

Cons: None for the card plenty for the users. Don't forget the need for the extra 5v circuit to use both sides of the bus and acheive the increase in bandwidth as well.

Other Thoughts: Yes most 128 bit cards have 128 bit memory chips and a 128 bit bus interface. This card is an exception to the rule. I'm certain that if XFX (Pine) had realized how hard it would be for ppl to get their heads around this concept they probably would have scrapped the design. this is no doubt the best 8600gts design out there. BTW this is not the first time XFX has used this design in a 128 bit mem / 128 bit bus video card either.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card if XFX didn't lie...

Pros: The card is faster than my 7900GS will ever hope to be.

Cons: XFX lies to you. Don't take their word on the 256-bit memory. Every utility i have run (nTune and Rivatune) all state that the card has 128-bit memory. This makes the card almost useless compared to others.

Other Thoughts: The quick but dangerous fix (Don't try this at home) is to use Rivatune to unmask units to crank it up. I have gotten it to work with both 384 and 256 bit modes. The card is capable, but it does not ship with 256-bit. I mean it, do not try the above fix if you do not know what you are doing.

4 out of 5 eggsSweet read review if you are having problems

Pros: Looks cool has green lights
runs good on games
kind of cheap

Cons: ** YOU HAVE TO USE THE POWER ADAPTER **
You cant just use a 6 pin connector even if you have an SLI compatible PSU

Ya wasted one month of my time thinking that my pc slots were fried took xfx a month to tell me to use the adapter and there was no instructions telling you have to.

Other Thoughts: So this card does not just use 12v to run it. it takes more power so use the adapter if you want it to work.
