4 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: Performed flawlessly for 5 years. If you can buy this thing used for an alternative PC/file server etc. use and you don't need DX11, get it...it's great and it lasts. This review is pretty late as the card is deactivated on Newegg, but if anyone out there is like me they'd appreciate a review about something they can buy pretty cheaply for an alternative setup elsewhere.

Cons: No DX 11, which is used in most games made in 2010 and later.

Overheats eventually (I suppose most if not all of them do?).

Other Thoughts: The card has lasted 5 years so I suppose I can't complain. I am not big on gaming. I really got it because I wanted to play WoW as stress free as possible (with highest settings). Lately it has been overheating and it sounds like a jet engine. I also own Diablo 3 but am scared to play it because I feel like my PC is going to take off (or blow up) with the card in it. I'm guessing I could slap some thermal grease on and it'd be good as new but I don't want to void my warranty, which by the way is pretty cool. XFX has been great. They will be fixing it for me. Thought it does suck somewhat because I have to pay shipping to them and will be without the use of my PC until I get it back. Still grateful though.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: One of the best purchases I made for my last PC build. 2.5+ years later and this thing still hangs with new graphic demands.

Win7 Experience Index: 6.9 with default settings.

Cons: Fan is loud, but who cares? So are my speakers!

Other Thoughts: Also, you can slow down the fan with advanced management features, but the card will surely perform better the cooler it stays.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Card

Pros: Good card over all, can run any game i use without having any significant problems. Runs crysis on very high settings with a slight frame rate problem but is good on high. very easy install

Cons: Although it was an easy install the driver was not included on the disk it comes with, it has the button to click on but when you do it just says to go to the website to get the latest driver, not a big problem though (unless your internet decides to stop working right when you go to download...grrr...) also there is a very small frame rate problem when there is a lot of water in games like crysis on the screen. only other fault i have with it is it is the hottest thing in my computer right now topping at 60c when playing crysis or any other game.

Other Thoughts: Although it looks like i wrote more about the cons then the pros it is a card worth getting in my opinion and the price is right.

5 out of 5 eggs8800GT

Pros: Great card, works with all my games including COD4 and WoW with highest settings. No problems with choppiness or anything else.

Cons: The fan is pretty loud and it gets annoying sometimes. I would suggest buying another heatsink so you can take the fan off.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ran great. Not too noisy.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Probably one of the best bangs for the buck on the market right now.

First Nvidia card I have bought in a long time. First XFX product I have ever bought.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: quiet and powerful. I have two of these running in SLI on an XFX motherboard and an intel quad core yorkfield with 4gb mushkin ram and its rock solid. got a 3dmark06 score of 14,546 - which aint too shabby for no overclocking and WinXP Pro 64bit.

Cons: none really. However the documentation for the motherboard and video cards was really lacking for the SLI setup. The motherboard is a 3 way SLI and all it talked about was three way SLI.

5 out of 5 eggsMy face is melting

Pros: This thing runs Oblivion at a cool 60fps most of the time (this is with HDR, all settings maxed, V-sync, and 1680x1050 resolution) and the lowest I've seen it go is 20fps. Absolutely amazing card.

Cons: My face hurts from the amazingness.

Other Thoughts: My specs: Q9300, 2x2GB G.Skill DDR2-800, XFX 8800GT Extreme, 74GB Raptor, Corsair 650W PSU, ABIT IP35 Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card, Fast, Great customer service!

Pros: fast and plays crysis, bioshock, etc, nicely.... What can I say it works great! XFX support is excellent with regard to noisy fan issue. I had mine fixed in 3 days! If you want a great card for the price dont let the fan issues deter you! Buy it and if you get a one speed fan call XFX they will take care of it for you!

Cons: I got mine from another retailer and it had a 1 speed fan. NO BIG DEAL!!! Call XFX customer support and they will send you a new complete heatsink/fan assm. that you swap out and you have quiet card!

Other Thoughts: I could have returned the card to where I got it but when I called XFX they stepped up to the plate and took care of the fan problem no questions asked! So I kept it. It is faster than my BFG Oc 8800gt. This is my second xfx card ...It will not be the last.
