XFX took the already superb 8800GTS 512MB GPU and tweaked it so you can game like the Alpha Dog you are. The core clock has been boosted to 678MHz and the memory clock jumps to 1944MHz to wring every last ounce of performance from the GDDR3 memory. Of course, if that isn't enough juice you can add another card in SLI.

All that power drives the Lumenex engine for lightning fast anti-aliasing and HDR Lighting for stunning realism. The Quantum Effects Technology utilizes advanced shader processors to deliver an entirely new level of physics effects that are rendered on the GPU leaving the CPU free to run the game engine and the AI.

The built in PureVideo HD Technology was specifically designed to enhance your HD experience. Built in hardware decode acceleration of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and SD movies provides a theater-like experience. The HDCP compliant dual-link DVI ports allow you to play your HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs.

  • newegg NVIDIA Unified Architecture with GigaThread Technology The fully-unified shader core dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics and pixel shading operations, delivering incredibly true-to-life 3D graphics. In addition, the massively multi-threaded architecture supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Support The DirectX 10 GPU with full Shader Model 4.0 support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.
  • newegg NVIDIA Lumenex Engine The NVIDIA Lumenex Engine supports 128-bit and 64-bit floating point HDR with up to 16X anti-aliasing, delivering vividly realistic lighting effects while obliterating "jaggies".
  • newegg NVIDIA SLI Technology Delivers up to 2X the performance of a single GPU configuration for unmatchable gaming experiences. The must-have feature for PCI Express graphics, NVIDIA SLI technology allows two graphics cards to run in parallel and dramatically scales performance on today's hottest games.
  • newegg NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology The combination of high-definition video decoding acceleration and post-processing delivers unprecedented picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color and precise image scaling for all video content, especially movies.
  • newegg Built for Microsoft Windows Vista Built for Windows Vista, NVIDIA's fourth-generation GPU architecture offers users the best possible experience using the Windows Aero 3D graphical user interface available in Microsoft latest operating system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Crysis is about the only game I have been able to test this with so far. Running Crysis on high settings with great performance. The price after the rebate makes this a no brainer!

Cons: None with the card see below.

Other Thoughts: To play Lost Planet you have to first install steam, create an account then sign in to play it. Since the account is linked with the game you will never be able to sell it. I will no longer be getting boxed versions of games that require this kind of a joke.

You may need two of these cards to run Crysis with full graphics in DX10 and still get high frames.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX PWNS!

Pros: This card is just amazing. Runs Crysis on high settings with no lag what so ever. Other games such as COD4,UT3 is just amazing with this card. Doesnt get very hot at all. A very stable card.

Cons: Nothing at all for me, all is well!

Other Thoughts: This thing is big. But its only 9 inches in length. Most mid sized towers will be able to fit this with ease. It does take up two slots though, but no big deal with that huge heat sink keeping your investment cool, you wont care anyway. I am running a GA-P35-DS3L mobo with corsair 650 ps 4xgigs of corsair xms memory,Gforce XFX 8800gts (G92)512mb video card and a q6600 cpu at 2.4ghz speed.

5 out of 5 eggsoc-it to 820 mhz and 2234 memory

Pros: well for the money u cant beat it. ok well here you go when you buy a card that is already 678 mhz and can clock it up to 820 mhz and still run cooler than most cards ....right there is your selling point. also getting the memory speed up to 2234 . need i say more.!!! if you are looking for a all around great card and dont wanna jump over the 300.00 dollar range get this one you wont be disapointed!!!

Cons: is a big card so you may have to do some re-arranging in your cpu. i have to drimmel one of the support arms on the casing to fit it in there..."hoping that would work and the card was ok" cause im pretty sure that it would have voided the warentee on it ....lol.

Other Thoughts: just make sure that you have a enough room on the motherboard to fit the card before purchasing it cause you would hate to have to buy another board just to fit the card...or sending it back and adding more time to get your pc up to alpha dog speed and performance!!!!!!

3 out of 5 eggsGood card, didn't last

Pros: Decent card at a decent price. XFX gave me no hassle on the return.

Cons: Failed in less than 90 days. A pain to have to wait for replacement.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear that has happened. If you can email me your ticket number at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com so that I can look in to your case.

5 out of 5 eggsgood card

Pros: pretty good card, it's a lot cooler than my last one, and so far it's running fine. i just use it to play WoW and it's great for that. i run everything at max settings and i havent had any major problems.

Cons: does tend to hick-up during graphicly intense boss fights (twins) but other than that it's good.

Other Thoughts: for the price, i really can't complain about anything.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bang for your Buck

Pros: 5.9 in Vista (32). Mostly do video and photo editing, so I can't comment on the high end games, but this looks and runs great!

Cons: None for my uses!

Other Thoughts: I'm running Vista(32) on an Intel Q9450, Corsair Dominator 4gb (2x2) 1066 ddr2, Xfx 8800 gts (g92) 512mb, Deskstar 7k1000 1TB, X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty champion, Antec NeoPower 650, in an Antec Solo Case.

GREAT Video card for the money!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card - Over Clocks Very Well

Pros: I gave been running Crysis and COD4, CSS, and a few other games mostly fully maxed out (Crysis almost everthing very high, no AA) and this card has been rock solit and no problems at all.

Cons: If you OC it to above 720 core clock I recommend turning the fan speed all the way to 100% and it gets a little loud at that setting, but us it only with hard core gaming and I have a large headset o, so I don't here it anywat when gaming.

Other Thoughts: You can Over-Clock the core speed and shadders and the memory very well with this and almost all the Nvidia G92 based 8800GTS cards. Though sometimes the memory does not clock as well as the core, so dont be so agressive with the memory speeds, or your system may become buggy during long gaming sessions.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: So far this card has been very nice. The card is very quiet and even at load I can barely tell that it is even on at all. The card stays at very low temperatures compared to my old 6800GT. The warranty is awesome.

Cons: My video card didn't come with Call of Duty 4, it came with Lost Planet for some reason. The card is very very large, and made me keep my HDDs right next to each other to even have the GPU in my case at all (Lian-LI 60B). It doesn't perform as well as it should be, from all of the benchmarks that I have seen. I have even noticed some drop in FPS in World of Warcraft (it's interesting).

Other Thoughts: This card is a great bang for the buck and if you can get the MIR and a game... it is totally worth the money. Well over the 8800GT imo. Less heat, power, and runs quieter.

5 out of 5 eggsbest one for the middle/upper class

Pros: Really fast. Vista 64-bit is incredible and this CAN PLAY CRYSIS WITH NO HASSLE! COD4, GRID, Unreal Tournament 3 with no sweat! Doesn't really get hot!

Cons: 9800 GTX is cheaper and my two is SLI is basically 1 9800GX2. Wish it had the tri Sli feature.

Other Thoughts: Antec 900 case, EVGA 780i, 8800 GTS (G92) Sli'd, 400 GB HDD, Corsair Dominator DDR2 800 8GB (4x2GB), LG Blue Ray/ DVD burner & 750 watt PSU. Will be upgrading PSU to 1200 watt when I buy 3 GTX 260 very soon
