XFX brings you the next generation of DX10 capable GPU based cards with this GeForce 9800 GTX based unit running at 675MHz. It comes jammed with 512MB of memory for plenty of room for high resolution images, incredible detail and shading. The GPU was built for Vista so you don't need to worry about compatibility issues.

All that power drives the Lumenex engine for lightning fast anti-aliasing and HDR Lighting for stunning realism. The Quantum Effects Technology utilizes advanced shader processors to deliver an entirely new level of physics effects that are rendered on the GPU leaving the CPU free to run the game engine and the AI.

The built in PureVideo HD Technology was specifically designed to enhance your HD experience. Built in hardware decode acceleration of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and SD movies provides a theater-like experience. The HDCP compliant dual-link DVI ports allow you to play your HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs.

  • newegg NVIDIA Unified Architecture with GigaThread Technology The fully-unified shader core dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics and pixel shading operations, delivering incredibly true-to-life 3D graphics. In addition, the massively multi-threaded architecture supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs.
  • newegg NVIDIA HybridPower Technology Designed for PC enthusiasts and hard-core gamers, HybridPower Technology switches graphics processing from the GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card to your motherboard GeForce GPU when running less graphics-intensive applications for reduced energy consumption, quieter operation, and less heat generation.
  • newegg PCI Express 2.0 Interface The PCI Express 2.0 interface delivers an ultra-high data rate of up to 16 GB/s, and is backward compatible with PCI Express x16 (PCI-E 1.0), so you can upgrade the graphics of your existing system with the XFX PVT98FYDF9.
  • newegg NVIDIA SLI Technology With SLI, the GeForce 9800 GTX GPU offers increased performance up to 2X in a dual SLI configuration and up to 2.8X in 3-way SLI mode for no-compromise gaming performance.
  • newegg NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology The combination of high-definition video decoding acceleration and post-processing delivers unprecedented picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color and precise image scaling for all video content, especially movies.
  • newegg Essential Vista NVIDIA GeForce 9 Series GPUs are essential for accelerating your Windows Vista experience by offering an enriched 3D user interface, increased productivity, vibrant photos, smooth, high-definition videos, and ultra-realistic games.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked Great for 3 Years!

Pros: Strong performance and reliability.

Cons: After 3 years, this card is dying. Major video artifacting. Put a support ticket in with XFX. Lets see what they can do for me.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX Outstanding

Pros: Best bang for your buck today.

Cons: A good size card. It takes a little re-arranging of parts to get it in your case. But that's no big deal really.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an ATI X850PE-256MB so it had been a while since I purchased a video card. Man what a difference, finally out of the Dark Ages.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome bang for your buck

Pros: Low cost card that has awesome performance, even with a PCIe 1.1 slot. The only thing slowing me down now is my single core AMD64 processor. You will notice a HUGE increase in performance with this card.

Cons: It is HUGE! I mean REAL huge. It made me go out and buy the SATA cables that bend at a 90 degree angle instead of the standard ones that are 180 degrees. If I didn't buy the cable I wouldn't have had any SATA ports.

4 out of 5 eggsMy best card yet

Pros: It is the best card i have ever had, I bought this comming from 2x's 8600gts in sli. This card out performs both of those by almost tripple. I was running AoC and would get a ton of lag with this card I get none. For the price its not bad at all, But you might want to look at the new ati 4k series that is out.

Cons: It's huge that is all, If you don't have a full size case then don't bother buying it.

Other Thoughts: I just purchased a gx2 260 I just was tired of cutting costs on things I really wanted, so I went for it.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!!!

Pros: GREAT CARD!!! did not purchase from newegg, but did in store elsewhere, and lemmie tell you something, it's the best $200 i've ever spent!!! OCing at 760/1240, stays cool at 46c idle, 58c-62c when running crysis. All settings very high with 2xAA i get around 30-40 fps! Plan on running three of these in SLI, can't wait!

Cons: XfX rules, if you plan on OCing, get this one, the others can OC but do not run as stable as this. Forget the black version too, save your money and OC this. It's a better bang for you buck.

Other Thoughts: Running this with E6420 OCed @ 3.00ghz, Asus 780i striker 2 formula, 2x2gb OCZ SLI ready ddr2 800

4 out of 5 eggsDO NOT GET IF YOU HAVE 790i ULTRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: owns ut3 1920x1200 all settings maxed

Cons: if you get 2 and run in SLI on a 790i ultra motherboard YOU WILL CRASH ALL THE TIME!!!!! every time i go sli and run a video it ALWAYS freezes. you can't fullscreen videos on youtube without risking a crash. and video games crash to. and you HAVE 2 hit the restart button on you computer case cuz the whole thing WILL freeze. seriously, type in 9800 GTX SLI 790i Ultra freeze on google and you will come up with PAGES of forums of people having the same exact problem. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsxfx loses a customer

Pros: powerful card with a decent price

Cons: support is a pain. i used this card for a friends power machine to show that i could build him a better machine thru newegg for a lot less than he could buy commercially from a big computer store. of course i expected the driver disk to have at least a working driver on it . all i got was a go to xfx to get the driver message and a bunch of card read errors! no bundle manual or anything else on the disk. bad disk? or force me to register?

Other Thoughts: went to xfx website only to find that they wouldnt give me anything unless i logged in and registered the card first and they didnt have the latest drivers anyway. and had to download to another machine wasted an hour of my busy time and ended up going to nvidia after all. had to google to find how to install the little sound wire for hdmi. this runaround will send me elsewhere next time.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product

Pros: This card is great, it runs games well, and is just awesome. I would highly suggest this card.

Cons: The fan control is awful, it wont get it self going, I once saw that the card was 80.C and the fan control was only at 70%. So I would suggest using the nVidia control, or riva tuner to control your fan speed.

Other Thoughts: One comment, I actually bought the XXX version of this card, XXX is the overclocked version. My cousin has this card, and he only gets 20 FPS in Cod4 on 1650x1050. With my XXX I get around 60 FPS. So I suggest you try to hunt down a XXX, trust me, its worth it

5 out of 5 eggsInsane

Pros: Insane power running 2 in SLI without overclocking. Running Crysis with all settings very high, anti aliasing 8x and 1280x1024 standing strong at 60 fps.

Cons: They are HUGE... make sure your case can handle a really LARGE card.

Other Thoughts: Cannot fault these cards at all...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Powerful card, runs all my games at high settings at 1680x1050 without a hitch. Fairly low temps for a high-end video card (41 C Idle), even with the fan at 80%, it's not noticeably loud. Decent overhead for OC'ing

Cons: Driver bug that locks the fan speed at 35% even during gaming, needed to set the speed manually with another program.

Other Thoughts: GTX 260 is better for high-end, and the GTX+ is a newer and better card.
