5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card is amazing. It takes pretty much anything I can throw at it and asks for more.

Cons: This card is huge. When purchasing, you have to make sure it will fit in your computer and that you clear drive bays and caps on your motherboard. Also make sure you have a power supply that has the right connectors. It requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin.

Other Thoughts: Going to throw some more at it and see what it will take.

5 out of 5 eggsFast but hot!

Pros: Fast, good looking (like that matters...), really responsive and friendly tech support. Free game:)

Cons: Hot! Hot! Hot! Loud at full fan speed. Motherboard chipsets were overheating because of this card: loss of USB, system lockups. Why still 5 stars? Read on...

Other Thoughts: This card requires massive airflow in the case. My case wasn't cutting it despite lots of 12cm and 14cm fans. I worried at first that the card was malfunctioning. I've emailed XFX at the address they've provided in one of the comments here. They were very friendly, very responsive. They assured me that the temps were normal so I worked on improving the airflow by moving the computer to a CM Stacker case and installing small fans on chipset heatsinks. Temperatures dropped by ~10C. Happy ending, it seems:) Thanks NewEgg and XFX:))

3 out of 5 eggs9800 overheating prob

Pros: fastest card on the market atm, straight up delivers on graphics when dual sli paired

Cons: huge size eats up space and linking w/ sli = major overheating issues. check general reviews of 9800 card's heating prob before purchasing. after installation, my system has random crashes from the heat this puts out during high end games such as Crysis. atm, while im ordering new cooling for them, im literally having to take the side casing off and put a table fan on if i want to run something like crysis on ultra high setting. idles around 65C

Other Thoughts: worth getting if ur only getting one or have an amazing cooling system that rivals that of the frozen tundra

5 out of 5 eggsQuad-SLI on Vista ONLY

Pros: This video card is the top of the line in the market today, or at least so far. IF Nvidia releases better drivers then this card will be incredibly fast. Bottom line, it will run any game available for the PC no sweat.

Cons: The card does run a little warm, (70-80 C idle temp) but I would suspect that's because there are technically two GPUs in just one of these cards. I bought two of these beast-like cards and no one told me that Quad-SLI is a Vista feature only. I discovered this after hours of trying to figure out why my cards weren't in SLI mode as recognized by the computer. Then after going to Nvidia's drivers section of their website, I saw a small "note" at the bottom of the page that stated that "Quad-SLI mode was available for Vista users only". So, if you're going to go all the way and buy two of these cards, be fore-warned that you can only reap the benefits of Quad-SLI if you sell your soul to Vista.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's a great card, no doubt about it. Time will tell their true potential, as Nvidia works on the drivers. Make sure you have ample power to support these cards as they require BOTH a 6-pin and an 8-pin connector. They do put out a lot of heat, without the stock fan set to the max, they idle between 70-80 C, depending on your system. Which is pretty warm for an idle temp. And lastly, if you plan on buying two of these to build the Ultimate gaming PC, make sure that you have Vista, or you won't get the infamous Quad-SLI.

Cons: Needs a lot of power.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great card. That's really all there is to it. It runs DX9 games PERFECTLY, and seems to perform fairly well with DX10. Drivers are what are inhibiting dx10 performance ATM.

Cons: Though it's certainly no ones fault, the price dropped almost 100 dollars about a month after I bought... Makes me wish I could get some kind of money-back program...but no such thing exists for obvious reasons...

5 out of 5 eggsSweet.

Pros: This card is very fast. HL2 and its counterparts Portal and CounterStrike stay at 60 FPS (Vsync) at all times. No matter what; max settings, 16x AA. Crysis runs ungodly at 1920x1200 all high settings with 4x AA. Rarely does it drop below 45 FPS.

Cons: This card is hot. Actually, hot may be an understatement. It is BLAZING. I had to install 3 extra 140mm fans in my Thermaltake Armor+ case to keep it cool. Make sure you can cool this card before buying it or you may end up with crashing games and poor texture rendering.

Other Thoughts: Liquid cooling my CPU helps to keep the system heat down a bit. Doing the same would decrease the built up heat on your card by a ton.

I personally wouldn't call it a con. It's more a querk, but the secondary fan on the... 2nd GPU... doesn't run until the unit gets too hot. Once it gets hot enough, it will run for 5 seconds, turn off... run for 5 seconds... turn off. It's annoying and probably not good for that fan. I go through nTune and turn the fan on 100% every time I boot my PC so it stays running.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is the most powerful vid card on the market as of mid 2008...

Cons: ... but that doesn't mean you need it to have a top of the line system. THIS IS NOT FOR THE TYPICAL UPGRADE! Do your research!!

Other Thoughts: Writing a review slamming this card because it is big and heavy and power hungry is obsurd. Do your research and know what you are buying. This is the kind of video card that you build your computer around... not try to add into an underpowered system. If you want to upgrade your computer go with a 9600 or 8800 series. This card has very demanding space and power requirements.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card, but not as fast as SLI 8800

Pros: Great card overall. Good performance and faster 9800 out there.

Cons: I had two 8800 Ultras. This single 9800 GX2 is not an equal. In Cyris it consistently hits below 30FPS on max settings. My 8800's would smoke the game and never hit below 40FPS. Perhaps it's a driver issue; only time will tell. I'm stuck with this since I sold my 8800s. Maybe a little too soon.

5 out of 5 eggshot hot hot!

Pros: Great card, excellent graphics.

Cons: Runs a bit on the hot side: Make sure you look at your motherboard before purchasing, as the card is longer than a typical motherboard, basically make sure the ram slots do not get in the way.

Other Thoughts: Over all it's a great card, but heat is a huge issue with it. I selected this card along with many other parts to build a completely new system.
