4 out of 5 eggsSad to see it Die, Good card.

Pros: Good card, Runs high settings on most games even today. Good value. Looks nice, And smooth performance. Stable, Reliable drivers, Wish I could say the same about the card. Still, From the performance it gave me I will be using Nvidia hardware again.

Cons: Loud, And runs a bit hot. After about 2 1/2 years it died, But that isn't too bad for a card that was put through Many a hard night of Hard gaming at high temps. (See explanation in Other)

Other Thoughts: It started with games crashing unexpectedly, But I shrugged it off as the card aging. Then, It started running hotter than normal but again, shrugged it off. But then it started having MANY issues. The infamous "Snowstorms" And just random pixelated color whenever you would launch a game, And if you got the game process to end it wouldn't recover, You had to re-boot the computer Manually. I tried updating drivers and even did multiple Virus scans to no avail. About three days after the "Snowstorms" Started it began freezing and shutting off during internet browsing and typing Text-documents, leaving me with a black, still illuminated screen more times than i'd like to count. Finally, Nearly a week after this all started it stopped recognizing my monitor (Stuck at 800x600 on a 1920x1080 monitor) and something that looked like the old glitched up XP interface, With Pink dots everwhere. It was horrible. Currently using a backup computer while attempting to fix card or get Nvidia Support.

5 out of 5 eggs2yrs + and still kicking

Pros: Everything, Just a great card.... i have had this card for over 2 yrs. and the only issues i hav ecome across was certain nvidia 25*.** Drivers. once they got rid of the bugs for this series everything when back to normal.

Cons: Just a loud fan after about 8hrs of game time. It can get on your nerves after about 6 hrs. only issue I have found with it. But that and my other fans, Sometimes i wonder if it is my CPU fan screaming or my gfx card half the time :)

Other Thoughts: ALWAYS check your drivers before complaining. IF you find a issue after a driver install Or game update AFTER the driver, it could be as simple as the driver causing the issue.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card for the price

Pros: Yeah It's like 2nd or 3rd gen, but for the price it puts out the power. More than enough to play TF2, L4D, Bioshock, Crysis, and so on.

Cons: The fan is a little loud, but if your computer isn't right next to your or you have a headset on you won't notice.

Other Thoughts: Cheap!! Cheap!! Cheap!!

5 out of 5 eggsMine had GTS 250 cover D:

Pros: great card, best for price actually. SLi is always a plus

Cons: if your case doesn't cool well fan will be loud i don't have that problem :P. Mine doesn't look like that at all kinda looks like the GTS 250 actually only real problem i had but its ok.

Other Thoughts: Gonna try SLi

4 out of 5 eggsThis card is ginormous

Pros: Good amount of memory, supports SLI, PCI-x16 2.0 all for a good price

Cons: So big I had to squeeze it into my Lian-Li case because the bracket for the hard drives was in the way.

Other Thoughts: Card has gone down in price about 120 since I bought, it was at/near top of the line at the time. Still a very powerful card

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mid-range card for the money

Pros: SLI ready, good bang for the buck, solid performance for a midrange card.

Cons: Gets a bit hot in the wrong case, can cover up some unintended stuff on the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for the best bang for the buck, this card certainly fits the bill. I am pleased with the performance of this card and am considering buying another.

The card itself works great, it covers up an extra PCI slot thanks to the rear-exhaust fan cover, but that's to be expected with the newer PCI-E cards. A $1500 system built with this card, such as mine, can run almost any modern game on high graphics settings with little worry. Ultra settings start to tax it, but I imagine adding a second GTX+ would help alleviate that problem. Heat can be an issue in the wrong case, but in my Antec Nine Hundred Two, the GPU stays at a reasonable 50* C at idle.

On some motherboards, the length of the card can become a bit problematic if it extends over some connectors you need to use. On my Intel DP45SG, the card covers up the pins for the front panel buttons and LED's. This is only a minor issue though, just make sure to hook up the connectors before installing the card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card

Pros: Runs COD-WaW on all highest settings and Far Cry 2 on high settings without a glitch coupled with AMD 9850 Quad-core and 4GB or Corsair XMS2 1066Mhz memory. Runs cool (45*C at idle and no higher than 62*C under load) and surprisingly quiet. No crashes or any other issues at all even when OC'd to 500Mhz core and 750Mhz (1500Mhz DDR) memory.

Cons: It's HUGE! There is no way it would fit in my HTPC case, but fits my Antec Sonata II with no problem.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card! Can't beat it for the price

Pros: Runs all of my games well. Easily OC'd. Overclocked mine to 820MHz core clock and 1224MHz memory clock with no problems. Plays Far Cry 2 on Ultra High settings. GPU temperature hovers around 50-51C when idle overclocked (auto fan control holds at around 43%, so it is a little noisier); was holding around 46-49C with factory settings and auto fan at 3%. Card does not add any heat to the rest of my system.

Nvidia's control panel with the latest drivers and software updates is a great way to monitor and tweak your system.

Cons: Takes up two PCI slots, but every card this good or better does, too.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought this card because I am not an extreme gamer but like tinkering and the reviews said it was overclockable. I'm going to buy another and SLI them soon.

my rig:
AMD Phenom II x3 720 2.8 GHz (OC'd to 3.1GHz)
ASUS M3M-HT Deluxe/HDMI nForce 980a/780a mobo
Corsair 850W psu
Seagate 1Tb HDD
XFX GeForce 9800GTX+ (OC'd to 820MHz core, 1224MHz memory)
8Gb Patriot 1066DDR2 ram
Cooler Master RC-690 case
Windows 7 RC1 64-bit

1 out of 5 eggsLoud Fan - Mediocre Performance

Pros: I guess I could say that it works. Performance is very mediocre.

Cons: VERY loud fan; the fan was the loudest noise in my computer. The card is now out sitting gathering dust.

Other Thoughts: I really, really made a mistake buying this card.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear you've experienced trouble with your card. It should definitely be a solid performing card in most modern games, and the fan shouldn't be loud enough to be an annoyance. Please contact our support staff as they may be able to help you get the card working as it should be

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Very good performance for the price

Cons: runs a bit warm and power consumption could be better but its par for the course for a powerful gpu these days.

Other Thoughts: none
