5 out of 5 eggsxfx rocks

Pros: This card has served me well (and still does) over the years. Card failed twice over time and XFX honored the lifetime warranty both times!! Card runs on the warm side so a good cooling case is a must. Sill rockin after all these years!!

Cons: Runs on warm side.

Other Thoughts: XFX backs their product up.

3 out of 5 eggsOC at 680/1700/979

Pros: -Economical pricing; decent value for the power it offers.
-Able to play most games released to date (Feb 2012) at lowest settings or better with a reasonable framerate.

Cons: -Load temperature at default settings around 60C
-Overclocked at 680/1700/979, temperature around 83C (results varies by card)

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a card that just to get you by the bare minimal specs required for recent graphics demanding games (Feb 2012), this card would do the job.

However, there are better values to get a bigger bang out of your buck at higher end cards.

-Runs BF3 at low settings average 40+ FPS, screen resolution: 1680x1050
-Runs FFXIV (1.0) at average 30+ FPS at low general drawing settings (5) and standard texture, no AA or addition graphic features enabled, screen resolution: 1680x1050
-Runs windowed FFXIV (1.0) at average 20+ FPS at max general drawing settings and highest texture, no AA or addition graphic features enabled, screen resolution: 1024x768

2 out of 5 eggsI see a common theme starting with longevity

Pros: Good graphic quality

Cons: Like many others have already reported, my card died a horrible death before reaching 3 years old. The PC probably averaged an hour of up-time per day over the past year. When I finally decided it was the video card and took it out, there were capacitors on the card that blew which I believe is at least part of the issue. I know one other person that had the card die recently. Planned obsolescence??

3 out of 5 eggs2 yrs and That's it

Pros: When it worked for the first 2 years, the quality and performance is awesome and can't be competed with for the price.

Cons: As stated by everyone else, It only lasted 2 yrs and 1 month! The fan revs all the time and is very loud. Louder than all other 5 case fans I have running. After the 2 year marker, I started getting Blue Screens and freezes. Tried to update the drivers with no luck. Removed from case and my PC runs perfect again. Problem discovered.

Other Thoughts: Does anyone know if XFX will cover these things?

1 out of 5 eggs2 yrs 6 months

Pros: well... I get to try Asus video cards now, well for a price of $125.00.. :)

Cons: it only lasted 2yrs 6 months, no gaming, unless you consider; club penguin, disneychannel.com gaming... fan as well started whining and then nothing... computer won't even turn on with video card installed...

Other Thoughts: I have an 8600gts that also crapped out after 4 years, no gaming, other than zyngas/facebook games.. on this one though, I replaced the thermal compound with arctic silver 5, so maybe that's why it lasted a bit longer...

3 out of 5 eggsFried

Pros: Played WoW and TF2 at high settings. Looked really good and played smoothly.

Cons: Fan was loud. This thing got really hot and after about 2 years of owning this thing, I smelled something burning and it turned out it was the video card.

3 out of 5 eggsdied after 2years 2 months

Pros: Worked flawlessly for over 2 years

Cons: "Lifetime Warranty" IF you register within 30 days of purchase, which I don't recall seeing anywhere till I went to their RMA page.
Limited warranty lasts 2 years, bought May 09, died July 2011

Other Thoughts: Came here to write a review but couldn't find my model. Searching XFX + 9800 gave 30+ results NONE were my card. Why would XFX make so many 9800 cards with identical specs.
Feels kinda like my HP printer theory, they make tons of similar spec'd printers to hide bad reviews.
1. They look great for a few months but
- get hardware failures
- start eating pricy ink cartages at faster rates ($$ of ink > printer itself)
2. That model # is discontinued/disappears of market
3. A new model with slightly different housing appears, and bundled with new computer & monitor purchase with no reviews or very few good ones.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for a fair price

Pros: I don't high end game, I'm a WoW guy, and it's been the perfect card for me. Fair price, more than enough performance. The only problem I had with it was when those drivers were released that caused many cards to cook, mine being one of them. About 2 weeks after installing the driver I was playing WoW, things started getting wacky, and I literally smelled something burning. It never came back to life after. However, XFX was very supportive when I opened a ticket and fixed it. This was about 8 months ago I believe, and I haven't had a problem with it since. It is a big sucker, so make sure you have plenty of room and good air flow where it installs to your mobo.

Cons: Other than that fail driver that caused it to cook, none.

Other Thoughts: Horde > Alliance
