5 out of 5 eggsflawless

Pros: The whining I read about is due to inadequate PSU amperage and watts. It happens on a lot of video cards and usually blows out the PSU for the inexperienced. Plan ahead. As far as my card goesit plays Crysis Warhead in Ethusiast with my Q9650 at stock and Patriot 2K ram on an EVGA 790 Ultra board using the black slots. I plan to add a 2nd soon.

Cons: None it is flawless and I have tested this with 6 different boards and systems. I own a computer repair shop. Get a good case for cooling at least mid tower. Recommend Raidmax Smildon or if you are hardcore and doing sli an Antec 900 or 1200. I use the 1200 with the CPX 850 the perfect match.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for even more fps get a fast drive such as a caviar black or better yet a Raptor 300gb. They also speed up loading between scenes.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: Extremly fast
Overclocks great
looks awsome
Crysis finally runs smoothly on very high
XFX has GREAT service

Cons: some models make a high pitched ringing noise, but this is not isolated to the XFX 285.

Other Thoughts: XFX has great service, lifetime warrenty which lets you overclock it and change the fan. The card looks great, and it overclocks well. Mineran at 722mhz fine. Runs ALL games smoothly, even crysis at max settings (1680x1050). My card makes a ring noise, but this is an nvidia problem not XFX. Looking for a 285? Go with this one.

4 out of 5 eggsAweseom Card!

Pros: Sleek, black and green. Comes with Farcry 2 AND newegg throws in CoD5! Both sweet games and this card owns them.
Overclocks nicely. Box looks sweet and the packaging was solid. Comes with one 4pin molex to 6pin pci-e connector.

Cons: No voltage regulator! I'm not even sure what voltage this card runs at but you cannot change it with any type of software. Whines during game menus and loading. No drivers included on the CD (CD had nothing to offer). It tells you to go to Nvidia's website for the latest drivers.

No case badge was included in the box.

Because of these reasons, XFX only got 4 eggs.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 7900GS AGP build so you know I'm loving this new power. I just ordered my 2nd card to run in dual sli mode. With my setup, I'm able to run max settings on 1080p for all games so far (win xp 64). Crysis sometimes see's 30s but on average its around 58 fps. Ideally I want to be 60 or higher on average so it was a must for an extra card.

Another company didn't add any case badges with their product and after I registered it, and mentioned to them it was messing from the contents, they sent me a whole lot of them. I'm going to try the same with XFX if a badge is not included with this next card.

4 out of 5 eggsBe wary of the rebate

Pros: Awesome card. No complaints there.

Cons: What rebate? Rebates from newegg = FAIL

Other Thoughts: I'd rather have my wisdom teeth out once a month for the next year, instead of fight with a rebate company that "doesn't" have any knowledge about my rebate. This is the last time I will buy any rebate items from newegg. Why do they need to lie to us?

5 out of 5 eggsBig and Powerfull

Pros: Looks great, Smells great, and Even feels great!
Replaced my 8800gt with this on my DELL XPS 420, with no Problem, besides having to get another more powerfull PSU to run this monster.

Runs Crysis 1920x1200 on very high with no AA
Just amazing, I love this card!!

Cons: Very large but other than that, this card runs on magic

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have space in your case and not to overdose on Beautiful graphics!!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Buy for Higher End Users

Pros: This card is easy to install, it only uses the two 6-pins for power, and it's very, very powerful. The experience I got when I switched this for my old 3870s was bliss. I am a big Valve junkie, and I saw an increase of around 110+ fps in all maxed-out 1680x1050 Source games. I was also treated to wonderful UI controls and utilities for the drivers, 16xQ CSAA capabilities, and Digital Vibrance to enhance colors. It is also quite silent. Very solid buy.

Cons: For the most part, the only con of this card is the price, if you want to step above the normal GTX 260 for more power, this is the perfect product. Make sure your case can fit it too.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you update your drivers as soon as you install.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy camper

Pros: I bought this for gaming because I run 24" monitors and I convinced myself that I need to run native resolution (1920x1200) in games at max settings. Besides antialiasing, which I just don't notice, I max out everything else and games run silky smooth.

Cons: Nvidia's overclocking utility that comes with their drivers does not maintain settings after reboots, making it pretty useless. I gave up on overclocking seeing how there's no need for it anyway, at least given the games I'm playing now.

I had to buy a real power supply to power this card when I coupled it with an AMD processor and mainboard with built-in video. The cheap $30 420w power supply was sufficient for the gtx when it was installed with an intel chip and no built-in video mainboard.

Other Thoughts: The games I play are actually somewhat old, i.e. no Crysis, but there's always SLI, right?

5 out of 5 eggsLowest Prices, Almost Every Time

Pros: Can't really beat the Card, Even the 295 isn't that much better than This 285. So that leaves Price.

Cons: Price...

Other Thoughts: If we can't get the price reasonable, might as well get it for the least expensive. Thanks Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice video card

Pros: Fast, smooth. Handled everything I threw at it so I threw more at it and it took them too. Ran 3 instances of EverQuest with everything turned on and never saw a twitch, then opened IE and browsed at the same time until I realized all of my players had died in-game while I was gawking at the performance. *LOLs* Oh, had Dreamscape running @1920x1080 (Monitor limited, 50 inch Samsung) at the same time.

Cons: Price? Not really an issue. I feel like I got much more than I paid for.

Other Thoughts: ASUS P5QL PRO Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66Ghz w/factory cooling
Vista-64 bit Ultimate OEM
LIAN LI PC-A05 case
SILVERSTONE DA800 800W ATX Power Supply
WD Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s HD
CORSAIR Dominator 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066
HP DVD940I 18x Internal Blk DVD Burner LightScribe
Sandisk 4GB Cruzer Titanium Plus USB Flash Drive (For ReadyBoost)

This video card will be a major player in my i7-based/Windows 7 system I'm building the latter part of this year or early next year depending on the maturity of the OS.
