3 out of 5 eggsXFX HD 4870x2

Pros: Exceptionally fast

Cons: Too many to outweigh the 1 pro-I wish I had gotten an Nvidia card. The major complaint has been the HDMI audio out problem-had to go through a nightmare getting it to work-diable the onboard audio in my bios and then download the realtek hdmi audio driver. The catalyst control center has not been much help either, I want to extend my desktop to my HDTV, but all it will allow me to do is duplicate the desktop-I had been an ATI graphics guy up to this point, but next time I will go with Nvidia.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card!

Pros: I got this in the mail the other day and was immediately impressed. The packaging is very nice, and the card is gorgeous. It takes one 8pin PCI-E power connector and one 6pin PCI-E power connector, so two not one, make sure you connect both otherwise the card will not work. I am able to run ARMA2 on HIGHEST settings and get zero lag, it runs every game I own on highest settings.

Cons: Not a con but a note for people to know, the card is very long and wide so be sure you have a big case, I have the thermaltake elementS and it fits well. Also make sure to buy a minumum of 750 watt PSU, I am using the Corsair 850tx.

Other Thoughts: CPU- intel i7 2.66 ghz (overclocked to 3.0 ghz)
Video Card- XFX HD-487A-CDF9 Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB
Memory- OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600
PSU- Corsair 850tx (850 watts)
Hard Drive- Seagate Barracuda 1 Terabyte 7200.12
Case- Thermaltake ElementS

5 out of 5 eggsA POWER CARD!! WOW

Pros: A high upgrade after selling my two BFG 8800GTOC SLI, I play all these games in 1680*1050, and get ,min35,Avg45,max70FPS in Warhead with all enthusiast 2xAA, avg186FPS R.Evil5 all high 8xAA, Avg238FPS in SFighter 4 all High 16AA, avg60FPS but these game is locked to 60FPS in Fallout3 all ULTRA 8xAA-16AF, avg130+FPS World in conflict all Maxed, avg70+FPS in COJuarez2 and so on. Only Game that beat this card is Warhead i cant reach the 60FPS Avg but who many does? I steal this card , big bang for the buck, I Was thinking to get a Geforce 295 as always be a Nvidia Gamer but Geforce cards are more expensive and these 4870x2 do performs slightly below. I dont like so much ATI but i think that with this card ATI is on the fight again, no doubt

Cons: U must have a free 6+2 connector in your PSU to feed these beast plus a 6 connector, The problem is the 6+2 connector is not included, this is a bad joke from ATI really.
Runs a little Hot!!, its NOOOOISSYYY, Size could be a problem.

Other Thoughts: Principal components, 22" 1680*1050 LCD, Core@ i7920 OC to 3.5GHz, 6GB DD3 Corsair Dominator 1600, DFI UT Lanparty X58T3eH8, WDCaviarBlack 600Gb, 750wPSU. One 4870x2 ATI Radeon

1 out of 5 eggsXFX warranty is a joke

Pros: none

Other Thoughts: This company also refused a warranty on me for one of my customer builds as stated a double lifetime warranty is a joke so I sent all my xfx cards back and had them replaced with EVGA no longer will a XFX product ever make it in one of my machines or a customers.

1 out of 5 eggsXFX Waranty is fake

Pros: NIce card but, wen it started to have problems XFX refused to do anything.

Cons: It clearly states that there is a Double limetime waranty and when i called tech support a rude and cocky agent told me that you need to register the product within the 30 days of purchase otherwise there is no waranty, I told him that its double limetime so how does that even matter and he started giggling, and said go online and read the terms and condition, and i told him that only 1/10 ppl would only go online and actually would be able to find information on that unfriendly website. I told him that it doesnt say that on the box or on the CD, It just states double limetime thats it. and it never states anything about registration. Please avoid this because XFX wont do anything if you havent registered and they never prompt you to register.

Other Thoughts: A cheap tactic by a well reputed company go for EVGA instead

Manufacturer Response:

Anywhere that we state our warranty it is written that registration within thirty days of purchase is required for lifetime warranty. EVGA as well requires the exact same registration within thirty days of purchase or they limit your warranty to one year. If you have any questions about our warranty policies please feel free to email and I am more than happy to answer them. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Card For Your Money

Pros: Beautiful Card! Runs Crysis maxed out with 8X AA with 40 FPS! Definately worth the money.

Cons: When running a game, I hear a high pitched noise from the card. The sound kinda sounds like the mosquito noise. It also gets hot, so have good cooling.

Other Thoughts: Best card I have ever had. Make sure you have room in your case for this beast, it is over 10 inches long! It spans all the way across my motherboard!

Intel i7 920 overclocked at 3.5GHz-Water cooled

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Very powerful card, especially for the mine when the price dropped. Excellent support from XFX. Only had to use once to aska question, and got a response in an hour or so.

Cons: Gets hot. Make sure you have adequate cooling. Fan can get loud above 40% by some people's standards. Card is a bit on the heavy side.

Other Thoughts: The price/perfomance ration is excellent. The cons listed are a moot point if you have half a clue about building systems.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat card, poor drivers

Pros: The card is an amazing card for the price, but really overall lacks the drivers to make it work properly with most mainstream games. I dock this card mostly due to my other thoughts section.

Cons: MultiGPU is not supported by WoW, etc. Tried different driver versions, also overclocking / shutting off cores and still had the same issue. Sent for RMA with a 285 GTX instead.

Other Thoughts: It's too bad that ATI's drivers and WoW itself do not support dual GPU's as well as most of the games that are mainstream out there. With settings on High in WoW, and the latest drivers / running driver cleaner I was getting horrific graphic glitches and bsod's. This could be fixed by disabling one of the GPU's, but what is the point in owning a card that has that ability and then not putting it to the test.
