bad warranty service
- Pros: I purchased a 8600 GT from other newegg account. The card worked great for 2 years Then I started to experience freeze ups, and other issues.
- Cons: Bad warranty support. I was under the impression when I bought this card, there is lifetime warranty service, catch is you have to register the card through the company website (xfx.xom). here is what the company said when I contacted them:
[ 9/6/2009 12:30:24 PM] My serial number on the card: S/N: 17h202254. I tried to register this number when registering my product, and the site says it is invalid. I have taken three pictures of the Serial number if needed. I purchased my card two years ago from newegg.com . I am currently experiencing card problems. The screen flickers occasionally, and locks up. I have since starting using my onboard video without any further problems. What steps do I need to take to replace this card?

My thoughts: some lessons are best learned the hard way. Bad warranty support. Don't be fooled with the lifetime warranty label on this product. It's a catch 22.
XFX is not recommanded
- Pros: My 8600GT was dead at it's 16th month with very low usage. one year warranty only. no life time warranty at all.
- Cons: XFX is not recommanded.
More than Adequate
- Pros: Works well, doesn't make a lot of noise, no overheating. Much better performance than my old 7 series card. Also easy to install, doesn't cause a lot of problems at all.
- Cons: Not quite as powerful as I thought it would be. It is great, but I am still not experiencing the FPS that I thought i'd get with it, oh well, I guess it was a very good deal for what it does and that is all that counts. However; if you are seriously looking to run Next-Gen games. . . do yourself a favor and get something more powerful.
