Good while it worked
- Pros: Worked great for a month! After 35 days it stopped working and had a damaged memory module or something like that. Not sure what happened, it always ran cool and worked great from day 1 till day 35. Newegg RMA'd it for me and refunded my money. I went with the MSI TwinFrozr model and it runs even cooler.
- Cons: Stopped working after 35 days.
- Other Thoughts: I have owned 3 XFX video cards total and the other two still run great, so I'm thinking I just got unlucky or my PSU somehow damaged this one. I love XFX though and would still recommend them.
Nice upgrade
- Pros: Wonderful performance no hiccups and rock solid feel. Love Nvidia support drivers are readily available and make a difference. Noticable game play improvement none of this benchmarking garbage to compare very small gains. Replaced a XFX 8800 GTS 512mb extreme (awesome card, will keep for another build) and feel it was a good jump. Tons of freebees (COD5, term, lost planet2) but haven't used them will probably sell them.
- Cons: None. Size was expected and have room to spare so if 300 series cards need to be bigger then bring it. BTW temps are well within range of what these cards can take, had a XFX 7950 GX2 extreme and it was hotter yet and never had a problem with it.
- Other Thoughts: Was a little worried about power so fyi, I have a generic 600 watt psu and it works great using 2 seperate 6 pin cords and have no problems however my system does not have a bunch of case fans or lights. I am just powering a k9n2 diamond mobo, phenom II 940 cpu, 2 250gig hds, 2 optical drives, floppy drive, sound blaster card, and this vid card and have had no blue screens or random shut downs. Want to plug XFX as this is my third card from them and all three have been great, high quality cards. The egg is the greatest too I wish all online companies were this fluid I dread buying things elsewhere and have been happy to see the egg expanding is inventory.
Beast of a card
- Pros: have 2 in sli and it will run anything i throw at it, and it comes with Far Cry 2 and A free copy of 3d Benchmark. avg. 67fps on Far Cry 2 ultra high 8xAA 1920x1080
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Intel core i7 920
