5 out of 5 eggsLove This Card

Pros: This card has run amazingly for me for well over a year now. It really has not made that much noise, it has never failed, and I run any game on ultra graphics settings without a single stutter. Games include, but not limited to;
Thief (2014)
WoW
SWTOR
ESO
Tomb Raider (newest one)
Battlefield 4
Starcraft II
Skyrim
And more...

One last thing, I got a couple of free games with it :).

Cons: I have had absolutely nothing negative to say about this card.

Other Thoughts: It might be because I am running a 4th generation i7 with it? I have seen reviews with not such a good experience, which might be due to their lack of other hardware performance? They may also have not mentioned that they tried to OC it, which could cause it to fail so soon after purchase? Those who have failed (without any modifications) probably just got a bad card, which will happen with ANYTHING man-made. XFX offers a warranty for such cards.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

1 out of 5 eggsI Like but I hate it!

Pros: It seemed to run fine for a while,

Cons: but just over 90 days later and I wish I could get a refund on it. I bought two new monitors to replace an ancient one and the video card overheats. I almost got the two monitors replaced until I had a computer repair man look at it and when we ran 3d mark 11 test it beeped loud as it overheated.

My fault for going cheap I guess.

Other Thoughts: I have total respect for the company but I wish I could just get a refund.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Jason, we're sorry you are having issues with your 7850.

5 out of 5 eggsVery powerful for the price

Pros: This card surprised me many times. Whether it was being able to run Trine 2 at super high resolutions with SSAA, or how high I was able to push the settings in Battlefield 4, I was always impressed by what it could do.

Supports analog RGBHV.

Supports the Mantle API, which helps a lot in mid-tier systems. You can get very good FPS with it if you watch your VRAM use.

Cons: AMD's support of the Mantle API has been lackluster. It's been out for months, but with the 7000 series, you have to be very careful about how much VRAM you're using or you will get unplayable stuttering. They say they're still in the process of optimizing, but I feel like they've had enough time.

Other Thoughts: I bought the card way before Mantle was announced, so I'm not holding that against the card. I see it as more of a bonus. However, low-level API's will be standard in the future, and I hope AMD gets in gear with this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Better than internal graphics card

Cons: Drivers are not signed by windows

Other Thoughts: This card can play games on medium to high settings. Its good for the price.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, This card should play all games on high settings. it sounds like you tried to install drivers over a firewall/antivirus.

Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for correct driver installation methods.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsNot as loud as i expected

Pros: I don't see why XFX has such a bad rep in quality and noise... I am having a great experience with this card so far.

I liked how theres no VRM or Memory coolers, because I was going to add them myself when i add the water cooler

great looking stock cooler..... brushed aluminium... and feels really solid and high quality. the stock cooler was good while I was using it... but I am enjoying the card much more with a water cooler.

Cons: I just hope my warranty will still work after I have removed the stock cooler.... I just couldn't stand hearing the card.. so I had to put a water cooler on.

Other Thoughts: I have bought so many cards in the past...... its impossible to tell if you have a good one or not.. because I see even the biggest name companys produce cards that fail after a few months..

I used to buy ONLY Sapphire... but I may switch now after this great experience.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review! We are happy you are satisfied with your purchase.

Removing the stock cooler and damaging the void warranty stickers doesn't void your warranty in North America. (Please keep all original parts)

4 out of 5 eggsworks for me

Pros: not much of a gamer, and kind of lost the thread when it comes to recent developments in graphics cards since retiring, but I've always been a Radeon guy, and this has done nothing to change my mind... just plugged it in and it worked.

Cons: Fan is noisy at full speed, which fortunately is not very often for me since I'm not that much of a gamer

Thank you for the great review.

2 out of 5 eggsCard is Great, XFX Support is Junk

Pros: Card is very fast, all my games could be played on max graphic settings with no issues. Very quiet as well (compared to my older XFX 5770)

Cons: I have been using only XFX graphics cards since I began building computers (purchased over half a dozen personally, and recommended as many to friends/family who purchased them for their builds). This was because of the lifetime warranty and XFX's amazing support team.

This card bricked after 3 months, so I put in a ticket with XFX. It took them 3 business days to respond with the generic troubleshooting steps (even though I had stated that I had tested the card in 2 different motherboards with 3 different PSUs). I'm still awaiting their response. I have RMAd cards to XFX in the past, and by this point they would have already had my bad card and been sending me a replacement. Obviously something has happened to their support. It's a shame really.

Other Thoughts: Judging from the reviews, this card has a higher than average DOA/brick rate. If your card works, you'll love it. If your card breaks past the 30 day mark and you have to work with XFX support, you'll hate it.

It gets a bonus egg since it worked well for 3 months (that's something I guess)

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We're sorry you are having issues with your card. Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com with your ticket # for expedited service. Thank you

3 out of 5 eggsxfx 7850

Pros: Nice card, quite, gets the job done.

Cons: This card is really not much faster than my 5770 MSI Hawk. I was hoping for an upgrade but honestly I am not impressed at all. I should have maybe purchased a 7950 or a 650 ti instead. Gave my 5770 to my Son and am going to run this 7850 till it blows up. Maybe I'll OC to get some more push out of it. Cheap card for the most part , kinda bummed. My MSI was way better quality at 2 1/2 years old.

Other Thoughts: quad core 3.0 ghz 8 gigs of ram win 7 ultimate 24 inch t.v run my games 1080 p always.

FFARR, diablo 3 , POE, Minecraft, WOW, DOTA2. The card runs them all. Has some stuttering issues where my MSI HAWK had none.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We're sorry you are having issues with your GPU. Did you try running 3dmark11 to directly compare scores? The 7850 is 4 tiers higher in performance to the 5770 and should obliterate any performance comparisions. Perhaps there's a bottleneck elsewhere? We would be happy to help you rectify this issue, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after a few hours

Pros: My card had a buzzing sound during gameplay, if I went into the menu the buzzing would stop. The card was running great, it was idling at lower temps than my previous card, a Radeon 3870. It was idling at about 31C where my previous card would idle at 35-41C. I was getting a solid unflinching 60fps with all settings turn to the highest in Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Cons: The buzzing was annoying and then it just crashed my computer. Tried reinstalling the card but nothing helped. I had to switch back to my Radeon 3870.

Other Thoughts: Unbelievable. I upgrade my card for the first time in 5 years and it dies within a few hours.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We're sorry you had an issue with your card. If you have any questions about getting it replaced, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com. Thank you
