2 out of 5 eggsLow profile bracket does not align, cannot use it on my build

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: Cheap with coupon.
Passive cooling.

Cons: Passive cooling.
Low profile bracket included in package does not align with mounting holes. Afraid it will damage the card and want to avoid a return. Tried the card on a different system, card works but really need to get the correct bracket.

1 out of 5 eggsWhen it works it's fine. When it dies, forget about warranty support.

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: When the card works, it's a good low end card.

Cons: If you are not going to support your products, then don't claim there's a warranty. Here's the dialog of trying to get warranty support for a 3 month old card that failed and yes, I registered the product.
Me: The card was working fine but now is causing a blue screen at boot. I own 6 of these cards used in 4 pcs and have substituted the bad card in a different pc, same problem, substituted a known good identical card without problem. I have reinstalled the driver in the pc but still blue screen at startup.
XFX: Thank you for contacting XFX Technical Support. Sorry for the inconvenience that you are having with our products.
*Have you tried to update the BIOS of your motherboard?
*Have you tried any video card?
*Re-install the graphics driver and your operating system.
Me: The motherboard has the latest bios. Perhaps you did not read the problem. I own six of these cards. At boot, the problem is a blue screen with this card. Removed and reinstalled driver, still blue screen. Moved bad card to a different pc, blue screen. Replaced card with identical and no blue screen. THE CARD IS THE PROBLEM
My 3 yr old says if the card was working for 3 months, chances are it's not the motherboard bios. My cat says if the card was working and not now, then the driver is ok. My dog says if you put a known good identical card in and it works, then the card is bad and I agree with the 3yr old, it's not the motherboard bios.
Stop your nonsense and honor your warranty.
This is a followup to the original post, nine days after. Still have not received an RMA. Wrote XFX again, "If the invoice, proof of purchase or order history is needed, please provide a link to upload it." and their unresponsive reply "Thank you for contacting XFX Technical Support. Sorry for the inconvenience that you are having with our products.
Please don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have."

Other Thoughts: No, I do not recommend. Don't buy from manufactures that play the 'it's not my problem' game.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Unfortunately, there is only a 24 month warranty on this product.

Sorry for your loss.

Pros: It's not good hardware

Cons: not good product

Other Thoughts: I will not recommend to buy it

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

It sounds like you are still having trouble getting your card stable. It should only take 2-3 minutes to install drivers and get up and running.

4 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with my PCI-E 1.0 slot.

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: I'm sure it probably works but I couldn't test it since I have a PCI-E 1.0 slot. But checking compatibility is my responsibility, not the manufacturer's...

Cons: didn't work on my PCI-E 1.0 slot. Time to upgrade my MB :)

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review! We are happy you are pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsvery pleased; XFX Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: excellent quality
low TDP
extremely low price with $20 MIR !!!

Cons: UEFI BIOS does not let the card install on new Dell 3847 with windows 10. had to disable BIOS.

Other Thoughts: i upgraded the drivers for this card, but not sure if it "now" supports UEFI BIOS....

I hope it serves me for long time. I only use it for 2K display for mostly typing/coding.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the review, we really appreciate you taking the time to write it.

1 out of 5 eggsWrongly advertized?

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: none

Cons: Advertised as PCI Express, not PCI Express 2.1

Other Thoughts: My current PC cannot handle a video Card with PCI Express 2.1. This is why I purchased this item. It was advertised as PCI Express. My PC only supports PCI, PCI Express 1.0 X1 and PCI Express 1.0 X16

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Sara,

we're sorry for the confusion.

This video card does require a motherboard with a 2.0 PCI e slot or higher. Please let us know if you have any questions.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: Price, Simple installation

Cons: None considering the low price

Other Thoughts: Replaced a failing HD5700 in a 5+ years old Asus P5KE/Intel Core 2 Q6600 Win 7 system. It may not test as well as the 5700, but it drives a 27" Samsung monitor just fine for general non-gaming use.
Only "problem" is that HDMI to HDMI performance is poor. Had to used DVI to DVI cable. This appears to be a problem with either my monitor or my PC -- probably not a flaw of the XFX card itself.
Don't understand the complaint of one customer about Newegg packaging and customer service. Card arrived with protective packing by Newegg in the extreme and I've NEVER had a problem with Newegg.

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: $20 mail in rebate

Cons: Card stopped working in less than one week. Less than 5 boots. Returning for refund. I'm out more money for shipping but what can you do? First and last XFX. First impressions are a big deal to me.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the money

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: Easy to install. It automatically disabled the onboard video which is nice. That means, my RAM is now using its full capacity for the OS. This card has extended the life of my PC by another few years.

Cons: I have a good case with plenty of fans and circulation. This card gets really hot. It is currently running at 125F, and this is with the default settings. I still recommend this card if you are buying it with decent rebate.

Other Thoughts: I am not a gamer, so I just wanted my windows and browsers launch faster. I also watch movies on my computer occasionally and the HD movies were jerky with the onboard video which had 1/2 Gig. I expected a lot more out of a video card with 8 times as much RAM. But the performance is better, not super but adequate.

I have filled out the rebate form and sent it in with the required documentation. Lets see if I get the rebate.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review.

We can manually approve rebates if you have any questions, pleaset contact us.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's kinda "eh"

This review is from: XFX ONE R-Series Radeon HD 5450 A12 DirectX 11 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Low Profile Ready Deluxe Edition Video Card

Pros: It's compact, quiet (duh, no fan) and easy to install once you disable your onboard graphics. CD failed so just went to the website for the install and drivers. Always love the Catalyst Control Center -- gives you everything you need to install, tune and update. Once installed the card worked fine for what I needed.

Cons: VERY quirky with Win 8.1. Lost the "sleep" function in the shut-down menu, as well as a few other power-saving options. Also, Windows was telling me I had 2 monitors installed: a generic non-pnp and a generic pnp. This caused the cursor to extend way off the screen to the right, supposedly to the non-existent 2nd monitor, which makes it virtually impossible to access the charm bar. Did considerable research on both these issues and it seems they're common problems, but non of the remedies worked. GPU issue or Windows issue, it's annoying.

Other Thoughts: Because of the issues noted above, I pulled the card and went back to the onboard graphics for now. Everything is back to normal. I'll probably drop this in an older Win 7 machine and hope I don't run into similar problems.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Randy,

It sounds like you have a driver installatoin issue, or you installed on top of an Anti-Virus/malware protection that wasn't willing to let the drivers completly install all functions.

Please contact us for support and a quick guide to fix this issue.
