XFX Ghost Thermal 2.0 Technology

The New and Improved Floating Heatsink Design of XFX Graphics Cards Provides the Ultimate Cooling Solution

XFX's exclusive ghost thermal 2.0 design creates a floating heatsink with open airflow between the PCB and the cover so that air can quickly ventilate off the card while simultaneously cooling the core process and the components. We've also made major advances from our first generation which includes a heat tested light weight plastic to create an overall lighter thermal which reduces the physical strain on your GPU.

Up to 13dB Quieter and 45°F (7°C) Cooler Than Our Competitors

The Exclusive XFX Double Dissipation Design is Cooler and Quieter than Others

XFX's exclusive dual fan double dissipation design utilizes two larger fans which run at slower RPM than comparable single fan solutions which must run at much higher RPMs just to barely achieve the same cooling needs. Because of this design, XFX is able to achieve up to 13dB lower noise than the competitor while simultaneously increasing the overall cooling by 45°F (7°C).

Improved Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing MSAA Technology

Smooth Lines Make All the Difference Between Itty Bitty, Low-Quality Graphics Versus Smooth Realistic Graphics

MSAA smooths out the jagged edges of a curved object. A black curved line on a white background displayed on a computer screen will have some jaggedness along its edges due to the inherent limitations of using discrete pixels to display the image. Anti-aliasing smooths out this jaggedness by filling in the white spaces between the jagged edges with varying shades of gray which gives you the smooth soft shadows, crisp sharp lines of buildings, and crisp tiny details in clothing that make your experience truly realistic.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks better than my 7870

Pros: Good overclocking. 100% stable at 1115ghz core and 1350 ghz memory.
Free upgrade from my 7870.

Cons: None that i have seen.

Other Thoughts: I got this when one of my 7870 died. Even though one card died and the other worked, they then sent me two of these R9 280 cards which gave me 3GB when the RMAed 7870 cards were only 2GB. I had a little trouble with the RMA process which is why i think they bumped me up to 3GB. Overall I am happy I got the cards with the lifetime warranty from XFX.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX RADEON VIDEO CARD

Pros: very vivid Graphics and super colors

Cons: Uses a lot of power, 750 Watt power supply is a little small. I used a 1000 watt modular power supply and everything is fine now.

Other Thoughts: With a 384 bit graphic card and one of the best companies to buy from, this card is extra special for gaming.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review! We are happy you are pleased.

Pros: for 1080p gaming this is a great card high-ultra on all games so far. I have it overclock 1050core and 1400mem. have not seen it above 68*c even after 3 hours 100% load

Cons: not a r9 fury x

4 out of 5 eggsPretty...pretty...pretty good

Pros: All the games i play run either on very high or ultra setting
stays relatively cool
XFX customer service is very helpful

Cons: I had the card for a month and it stopped working. XFX however replaced it(still waiting on the replacement) so hopefully this one works a bit longer XD

Other Thoughts: It's a great card for the price, i would still recommend it even with the defective card i received because of how help XFX was during the process getting a replacement.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review! We appreciate your kind words about our support staff.

4 out of 5 eggsBe careful of card length

Pros: I haven't been able to use it (see cons)

Cons: This is a physically long card, only surpassed by some 3 fan models.

I bought one of these and it didn't fit in my case by a little less than 1/4". My case is not a small form factor type. Unfortunately I didn't try to install the card until after the return period had elapsed, so I wasted $200 on a card I can't use. The thing that annoys me is that this card could have easily been designed shorter and be a more generic fit.

I haven't seen another card in this class that isn't at least an inch shorter, so it appears I picked the 1 card that wouldn't work for me.

2 out of 5 eggsPowerful card, beautiful graphics, had to RMA

Pros: I bought this card one year ago at a price point very close to where it is now. It's nice feel like I got a great deal and this line of cards is holding its value in the market.

It's powerful and I haven't run across a game yet where I cannot max out the graphics and have it still run smoothly. Skyrim most notably, but I haven't been playing the latest and greatest and I'm running 1920x1080 monitors.

Cons: 6 months in this card wouldn't post. Just a blank screen and power-up loop, popped in another card and everything was fine. Alright, fine, time to RMA. Process was easy enough, but I have to spend 20$ on shipping. Ah well.

Other Thoughts: I'll give this card and XFX more eggs when I get my replacement card and it lasts. For now this XFX card is just one product in a line of supposedly high-quality goods I've bought recently that didn't go the distance. Thank goodness for warranties. Make sure you register within 30 days. I didn't see that stipulation and missed, so I'm guessing I'm out of luck if this replacement card doesn't last.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the review, Chris. If you have any questions, please let us know

5 out of 5 eggsXFX Double D Radeon R9 280 R9-280A-TDFD 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: XFX. UEFI BIOS capable. Excellent build quality and appearance. It is silent. Price. It installed easily and performs flawlessly. I am not a gamer so no comment there. I wanted a fully compatible GFX card for a new X99 build to drive a 1440p monitor and have bit perfect audio pass through. When components work flawlessly it is hard to evaluate their true overall value. This card does it's thing with perfect harmony with the rest of the components around it. It runs cool so no heat issues. I like equipment that works right with no problems. This card is a winner.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this unit to anyone wanting reliable equipment for the reasons listed.
Sincerely,
Walt Prill

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to 3 Egg review

Pros: With the new card t hey sent to replace the one having issues, I am having 0 problems. I didn't realize it at the time, but checking the logs I made with the old card it was running at 60C at idle so there was a hardware problem evidently.

Now I am running Dragon Age Inquisition on all ultra, and all the AA options maxed out with 30+ FPS. BF4 - same thing, all maxed out. Amazing card. Running perfectly now.

Cons: I was not happy about having to pay $20 for an RMA for a card that didn't work right straight out of the box, but I am happy with the RMA service itself. I was worried at first honestly, but evidently I didn't need to be as XFX took care of me nicely.

Other Thoughts: Unbelievable price to performance comparison. Awesome buy!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review.

We can manually approve rebates if you have any questions, pleaset contact us.
