5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING COOL! NOT LOUD!

Pros: Great performance and the card can overlclock! i bought this when it first came out, and i have abused it and still running great! must admit i have water cooling on this card, zalman resonator, totally worth it i idle at 38c and under load it gets to 48c which leads me think that the heat sink, the original one is seated wrong on the ones with problems. WHICH is really easy to fix, just take the heat sink off, clean it up and re seat it.

Cons: ... it's really not that loud with the fan, but with water it's silent :), if that matters

Other Thoughts: for all the people getting this to run crysis or other future games go for it. with a slight overclock i can run everything on very high at 20 FPS which is not good, but still almost playable... on high its like 30fps in DX10 mode, it's a lot easier to run in DX9

4 out of 5 eggsFast...

Pros: Beautiful graphics running at full-blast everything (HDR, Shadows, 4x AA etc...) at 1680x1050 in the following: DiRT, F.E.A.R., CounterStrike source, LostCoast, HL2, HL2 Episode 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2 and HL2 Deathmatch.

Cons: Stutters occasionally, but I think it's my hard-drive loading bits of the game, not the video card. Runs HOT.. about 58C at idle, and up to 90C when playing DiRT. I'm heavily considering the Thermalright HR-03 / R600 cooler for this because the fan it has is pretty loud... Definitely the loudest thing in my case by far.

Other Thoughts: ATi has updated their Catalyst control center twice since I've had the card. Not really a bad thing because the performance is getting better with each release. This card uses a lot of power, but I didn't really care about power consumption when I paired this with a 90nm X2 6000+. You can overclock easily in Catalyst, but watch your temps!

5 out of 5 eggsI got open box

Pros: This card was an open box item that i ordered. So it came without any of the extras.I knew the drivers would have to be the newest ones on the ATI site so no disc was NP. And most of the cables are ones i already have from other cards i bought. This card runs UT 2004 at all the higest resolutions with no problem! Graphics are very nice.
And because it was open box i saved $$$.

Cons: This card does put out some heat.
So some extra fans would be a good idea for your case. Nothing extreme if you're not over clocking it.

Other Thoughts: When i first hooked it up and turned it on the fan was very loud! And the card didn't work.
Then i looked up the specs at AMD
site and saw that "both" 6 pin connectors from power supply need to be hooked up. LOL
With both in place it worked like a charm and was very quiet.
I run mine to watch DVD's on the wall with a projector. So with the heat the projector puts out
i hardly notice the heat the card makes :)

5 out of 5 eggsMy 2900xt

Pros: This card runs Dx10 games Perfect. Like call of jaurez, Lost planet demo It seems that it really needs a fast CPU. I have a x2 4200AMD and i cant not get the frames or benches I really think the card is capable of doing. The quality of the picture in video play back, tv mode, and gaming is extremely clear. It does everything it said it can do and very well.

Cons: Its a brick. so heavy. It pushes out some major heat. I play in my room and in a matter of minute I must open up a window or turn the A/C on cause its pushing out so much btu. Drivers. A few games with high quality settings are crashing to driver issues in dx9 games. I am investing in a water cooler to solve the heat issue.Size it is very big. Will not fit in a small case like a small dell or HP or compaq. And it requires alot of power plugs

Other Thoughts: I got a juice box to power the card instead of just buying a whole new way over priced high end power supply. Im sure once i get the water cooler on it from danger den this card will be running REALLY smooth. new drivers will really make this card amazing. and its the best ATI product out there and it wont let you down. Just make sure if you want to push everything to the max you have the CPU and hard drives to push it

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card runs vista ultimate no problem. 320 stream processors and runs at 41C idle 50-60C load in my antec 900. No idea what anyone is talking about with noise either, the fan is silent compared to my previous card, a 7900 gs. Crossfire seems worth it in time and it is large but the antec 900 is a midtower and it fits just fine. Oh, Black Box and call of juarez was a nice touch.

Cons: It isn't perfect but I'm very happy with the card all together. We will see when more dx10 titles comes out what card is best.

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipping and services good as always.

5 out of 5 eggssweet baby unadentifible entity

Pros: Where do I start: This thing is apsolutly amazing, in the short time I have been with it I have already gotten over 110 fps in FEAR MAXED out. I dont know what you guy are talking about the fan is so quite i cant even hear the thing. Also the heat is fine I OCed this and its still running cool at 75c. This is over 3x faster than my old 1950xtx, and most importantly it outproformes nvidia

Cons: none. people who write here dont know what they are talking about

Other Thoughts: please dont compare this cared to the 8800gtx if you have not noticed there is about a $300 price difference its like comparing a apples and oranges.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: go to and read a huge article for your self you will know the truth! the technology that went into this card is amazing read for yourself!

Cons: the only con is peoples opinions on this card, ignorance is by choice!

Other Thoughts: this card in some areas will keep up with the 8800gtx and not as power hungry as the 8800gtx under extinsive testing. and will put a hurting on the 8800gts. great card for the money w/ dx10 support.

5 out of 5 eggsHIS 2900

Pros: Outstanding card for gaming. Get the latest drivers from HIS and or ATI/AMD on the web. Don't use the ones on the CD.

Cons: 2900 cards all run hot. Make sure you have good case ventilation.

Other Thoughts: If you get a PCI device needs drivers after installing the card. It's the HDMI audio drivers that you can get at ATI/AMD or you can just disable the device if you aren't going to use HDMI

4 out of 5 eggsNew drivers make all the difference

Pros: When the 2900XT first came out, and the reviews came out, I wondered if AMD/ATI had a real turkey. Slightly better then 8800GTS, but trampled by 8800GTX. New drivers have completely changed that. Now, in many games, the 2900XT competes and holds it's own with the 8800GTX, while stomping the 8800GTS. That small change makes all the difference in the world, because now you can get 8800GTX performance for less.

Cons: The drivers that ship on the CD with this card are garbage. Immediately download the newest from AMD. Don't even install the ones on the CD.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a product that was pushed out the door before support was ready. As time goes on, it's got real growth potential in performance. And if you're not using a Nvidia chipset board, it's a great choice.
