5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: High-End
Direct X 10.1 Shader Model 4.1
256-bit GDDR3 Interface
1080p 5.1 Ch Audio without trying
Inexpensive & High Quality
Excellent design
Plays most games
Not dual-height

Cons: Advanced Micro Devices retired the ATI brand
Already obsolete...that really sucks!!!

Other Thoughts: Saved a ton of money instead of paying top-dollar for a Nvidia GPU and has a truckload of performance to match.

5 out of 5 eggshad it for a few months

Pros: memory bandwidth is clocking 53gps and that is up from 17 gps on my 5700 gddr3 ultra from Nvidia.
the memory is easily over clock able another 30 % without mod. GPU is at limit without more cooling. good bang for the buck. lets me play hellgate london freely on my 15 foot D-ILA screen. it does that great at 1360 x 1024 x32 and everything else effortlessly.

Cons: price has fallen on video cards in general incl this. the car thirsts for cool fresh air and i blow one dedicated fan to it.

Other Thoughts: gpu runs hot. hope second run improves for more overclocking.

4 out of 5 eggsBuy it if you want card under $150

Pros: The best deal on newegg for graphics cards. I have an o'clocked X2 3800+ @2.3ghz and I can run Lost Planet MAX 4x AA/16xAF at 50fps avg. Bioshock max no lag what so ever(don't have actual fps) The Witcher MAX 2xAA/16xAF 41-76 FPS (fraps). I don't care about Crysis. 8150 on 3dmark 06. Less than $150, can't beat that. (1024x768 res) except 3dmark of course

Cons: I bought it when it first came out and paid $50 more. You can get a Sapphire 3870 for $160 now. On higher resolutions like 1440x900 you have to lose AA, you don't really notice though. Why doesn't anyone benchmark at 1440x900? I assume most people are playing on a 19" widescreen.

Other Thoughts: Mine is o'clocked 730core 999mem. Idles around 40deg cel/ 68deg on load. Riva tuner fan setting at 40%, otherwise the fan runs too slow. Wish I had waited and got the 512mb version, oh well. I can get another for $130 and have a nice Xfire rig.

5 out of 5 eggsMid-range?

Pros: Except for Crysis, I can play nearly any game at my 22" LCD's native resolution of 1680x1050 with all effects maxed and varying amounts of AA and AF. I haven't played every game made, but basically any game released before 2007 plays like butter. Newer games look awesome, but stutter at higher resolutions with max effects (COD4 is almost perfect!). Hardware HD-video acceleration is fantastic. HDMI output with audio is also great! It seems that this card was built for 1680x1050. Low power draw, quiet operation.

Cons: 256MB does limit its ability to game at high resolutions.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought the identical GECUBE GC-HD3850PG3-D3R for sixty bux more, but I can't write a review for that since it is discontinued. Same specs as this card though.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME LIKE THE FIST OF THE NORTH STAR

Pros: This really is a reliable card, good bang for it's buck.

Cons: Not much, it really is a nice midrange card.

Other Thoughts: ATATATATATATATATA

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great card, exceeded my expectations of a 256mb video card. Runs Counter Strike Source at 2048x1536 on moderately high settings, and constant 60fps...

Cons: Single slot cooler.

Other Thoughts: Nice card, I should've went with the 512mb version though...

2 out of 5 eggsRMA and waiting

Pros: Performance was good while it lasted for the price.

Cons: RMA....died after 2 months. If you get a bad card and have to RMA the thing, good luck! The RMA process takes longer than it should. I sent mine back on 2-26-2008 for RMA and they are saying it will be another week or two. They actually send the card back over seas for replacement or repair so that in itself makes for a long wait. Hopefully I will not have to do this again. Stay away from HIS and buy from a different manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money!

Pros: Super to install, comes with a Xfire bridge in each box so you don't need to spend another $20 to buy one and ship it to you, work great and also preform very well.

Cons: Just like all other GFX cards the nice looking side is always facing down. Not much you can do about that though

Other Thoughts: Tested with 3D Mark 06 and got 10917 for a score with both my cards installed and running in Xfire. Its a big upgrade from the 5xxx i got with the powercolor x1950 pro i bought a while ago. AMD X2 6400+ Black, 4GB of DDR2 800MHz Corsair RAM, and Vista Ultimate x64

3 out of 5 eggsOn the road to RMA

Pros: Price to performance ratio is good.

Cons: Had the card 2 months now and it is having artifacts and some strange colors on maps while gaming. RMA in process. Not sure how good HIS will be but will know soon.

Other Thoughts: Fan seems stuck on low speed and does not ramp up under heavy load. Temps between 60 to 90 C, while gaming. to hot for my taste. Have to use Riva tuner to set fan speed faster to keep gpu cool.
