2 out of 5 eggsThis card works, sort of

Pros: This is the best AGP card available, if you have the system to run it.

Cons: Bad driver support, or rather no driver support. Requires a dual core processor to operate without locking up Vista.

Other Thoughts: The card worked ok, but I had better experience with a HD 2600 XT. My FPS dropped when I installed this card, then the card fried my motherboard and itself.

5 out of 5 eggsSaves your AGP system!!

Pros: Nice cooling, solid HSF, overclocks excellent, best AGP card out there today.

Cons: Installing drivers are a bit tricky. The best drivers are on AMD's Site under 'HOTFIX DRIVERS'. The latest drivers are the 9.4 CCC AGP HOTFIX DRIVERS. Trying to install the drivers other than what comes from HIS can be a pain.

Other Thoughts: Once you get passed figuring out the driver installation, the card runs great.

1 out of 5 eggsAn ok card i guess

Pros: Fits in my computer case and seems to power up just fine

Cons: I cant get the drivers to work for the life of me. I am running a almost 5 year old p4 at 3.0 ghz and 2 gigs of ddr memory on an xp pro software platform. Decided it was time to upgrade the memory and maybe make it into a htpc. i reloaded xp and made sure the software requirements were met and nothing. So I switched to a 3 year old system with an amd processor and just 512 megs of ram and still a no go. Just the same old message "unable to find a driver for your hardware or software configuration".

Other Thoughts: So I ordered the last agp motherboard newegg sales with a dual core processor and 2 gigs of mem, hopefully this is all i need to get this thing to work. It doesnt help either that amd's tech support sucks.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best AGP Card to Get!

Pros: I went from an FX 5200 to this one and it's a very good upgrade. Very fast and reliable. Hasn't given me any problems at all. The best AGP card.

Cons: I haven't tried it with Vista and tried out DX10 (I heard there is no support for it). Other than the topic of no DX10 support there is no other problem and runs DX9 very, very well.

Other Thoughts: I ran this on an old rig and ran well. I plan to run this on another rig soon. I am currently running it on a single core P4 Northwood 2.8Ghz and using it on an AGP 4X bus.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card for AGP... But still AGP...

Pros: Great card for AGP. Powerful.

Cons: A hot card, a big card. AGP. Did not solve my problem HD and Bluray movies still play choppy on my 24"

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have at least a 3.0 processor is you are thinking about playing HD movies. I would recommend saving your money for a new system.

5 out of 5 eggsPick AGP drivers

Pros: You have to pick the AGP drivers from AMD/ATI.
You can try the latest, but the issue is AGP support for Direct 3D. after loading the drivers you can see if it works by typing dxdiag in the run box and testing directdraw and D3D.

Cons: AMD/ATI does not sell these AGP cards, so they dont really have to support them. The aftermarket guys are just taking advantage of a capability that AMD cards have to use AGP.

Other Thoughts: You can easily find new drivers with the fix in it by googling it. I have an 8.501 official version of ATI drivers on my X1950 Pro and they work, just a little older.

4 out of 5 eggsAGP 3850

Pros: As far as agp cards go it is fast. supports DX10 and unified shaders are nice. HDMI support and dual monitor support.

Cons: HOT and I mean hot. there is a IC on the top side of the card that runs hotter than the GPU.

Other Thoughts: I guess the only issue I have is the temp but when you think about it if it last two years I am fine with that as agp has been out for a while and this is just so I don't have to replace my media pc.
