Other Thoughts: I built a mini-itx system and wanted the performance of a desktop. I would have went with the 4870 but it requires 2 PCIe connectors. I opted for the HIS 4850 because it exhausts heat(major plus since it is a small case) and I already owned a 4850.

I hope it lasts a long time.

Pros: I got this card for $85 after a MIR.
It runs cool for a video card ~50 idling and ~58 under load.
It has dual slot cooling.
I have always liked the Catalyst Control Center interface.
Dual DVI and includes DVI to HDMI and DVI to VGA adapters
Cons: At the normal price of $164.99 (currently) it is more expensive than a lot of the Radeon HD4870s. So unless you find a really good deal on this you might as well get a higher performance 4870 for cheaper.

Pros: awesome video card plugged right in my motherboard and fit in my mid size box perfectly. Can play all games at max resoulution. only one crash so far and I'm not sure if its video card related. plays fallout 3 with 1680 by 1050 very smooth.
Cons: Fits upsidedown in my box so I can only see the bottom of it through the lexan. hard to find where to get driver updates on their website
Other Thoughts: A great card for an intermediate budget. great band for the buck. doesnt take up a lot of power. Although right now video card stays on when in standby so I think I just have to plug in in differently to my power supply
