5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a Charm

Pros: Quiet, Quiet, Quiet -- and runs cool too! Running Windows 7 with no problems and has HDCP and UVD so my CPU doesn't need to process so much Blu-ray video. My CPU runs at only 25% making Blu-ray playback possible without glitches. Runs dual monitors without a hitch. I would recommend this video card.

Cons: Uses slot below card -- so uses 2 card slots

Other Thoughts: Don't mind the bottom slot being used since my problem was with the TV tuner card above the video card. The TV tuner card blocked my old video card's fan.

5 out of 5 eggsFine mid-range card

Pros: Fanless, includes DVI to HDMI adapter, typically excellent ATi image quality, good value, Zalman cooler design does not take up two slots like some others do.

Cons: None for this price point.

Other Thoughts: Earns a 5.9 Vista experience score

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card for the $

Pros: This card is amazing, Quiet - and Fast, does what my 2600PRO couldn't - play Blu-Ray flawlessly. Inside my HTPC, it is simply fantastic.

Cons: I previously had a 300W PSU, after a week with this card, it killed my PSU. Not a big deal, I've ordered a 500W.

Other Thoughts: Awesome, worth the extra money over the competition - HIS build quality is superb!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money...and no fan noise!

Pros: * Passive Cooling
* 512 Megs of Ram
* Plenty of graphics horsepower for most of today's games (and all of yesterday's)

Cons: Cooling fins were a little loose when I unboxed the item, but they're not coming off of the card - just flex a little. Haven't experienced any problems due to this, just something to note.

Other Thoughts: I'd buy the card again. No fan noise, great graphics power (Vista likes it plenty), low power requirements if you're looking to save some money on your energy bill.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for HTPC but....

Pros: Multichannel PCM audio over HDMI (DVI->HDMI dongle provided).
1080p HD video over HDMI
handles most games very well.

Cons: There is one problem with this card. When the computer goes into sleep mode and the TV/Receiver is turned off. If you turn on the TV/Receiver again you will not be able to get a picture to your TV. The TV recognizes the input as a 1080p source @60 hz, but the screen is completely black. Only way to fix is to hard reset the computer.

Other Thoughts: I was really hoping this would be the perfect video/audio device for my HTPC and if the above problem is fixed, then I think it will be. Right now though, it is pretty annoying. This would probably not be an issue if you are not using it for an HTPC.

3 out of 5 eggsNo CrossFire

Pros: Silent

Cons: Says CrossFire. No CrossFire connector/pins on the board(s) I received.

HIS website shows two different pictures of this 4650 fanless board, one with CrossFire connector/pins, and one without. I see only one model number for the fanless version, yet it looks like there could be two "models."

The one I got from newegg has no CrossFire connector/pins on the board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear HIS customer,

Thank you for your feedback on your purchase.

The Radeon HD 4650 uses CrossFire through the Catalyst software suite, no CrossFire Bridge Cable is needed to enable Crossfire.

Please refer to the link to and further details.
