Works well in older computer
- Pros: Works well in an older Compaq machine, no need for additional power. Quiet, runs cool, software installation was easy, S-Video output is fine on my old Sony TV. Flight Simulator X now runs very smooth on Ultra High quality settings, yay!
- Cons: Takes two slots, but OTOH that gives it better cooling power and reduces noise.
- Other Thoughts: S-Video port shares the circuit with the UPPER DVI connector on the card; you must connect the monitor to the LOWER DVI connector in order to be able to extend the desktop to the S-Video port. I almost gave up on my S-Video port, but then I found the tip somewhere on the ATI support forums. Hope this helps someone (and probably applies to the 512M version too).
Worked out of the box
- Pros: Started my new build with all new parts, POSTed right off. Video was good, played movies in Ubuntu great. No complaints. Rig is for a Win7 64 build, just haven't finished testing parts before ramping things up. Using it in an HTPC build and I was concerned about using a bigger card with a fan (instead of passive cooling)...however, can't even hear the fan. Very quiet and fits in the full-size ATX case just fine, though there's not a whole lot of extra room in the length since the PSU is in the front of the case (and is bigger than the stock PSU). But still fits fine.
- Cons: Seems to put off a lot of heat when just idling. Haven't had it long enough to determine if I'll need another case fan or not. However, a lot of heat is blowing out the back, so maybe it'll keep the card itself cool just fine.
- Other Thoughts: Perfect for an HTPC as it's quiet and powerful. For anyone who's interested, here are dimensions: Card is 6 5/8" long, board goes about 1 3/8" past the end of the PCIe slot. Fan assembly then extends another 5/8" past the board. Whole thing is 1 1/2" wide and while it takes up 2 full slots, I can still use the third slot just fine. I'm giving these dimensions as they would have been really helpful to me when I was trying to choose a card. Very happy with the card.

Great card
- Pros: quiet, cool, runs my games at a perfectly fine fps
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: i can run games at full, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, with about 60 fps on average, isnt the best, but its fine for me. Especially for how much i paid for the card.
- Pros: Great Card, its fantastic that it is PCI-E powered. Plays all the games i need it to (total war, Call of duty, etc)
- Cons: None
Amazing card
- Pros: Plays Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: WaW maxed out 4x aa. Amazing graphics plays all the games I need on full settings like Half Life 2: DM, Guild Wars, RuneScape, and just basically any game. Even though I have a Pentium 4 HT 3.06ghz processor, it still runs all my games on max. I have a 305watt psu and it's fine. card runs 35-45c idle and 55c in stress.
Perfect card, you won't be disappointed.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Cheap for what you're experiencing.
