1 out of 5 eggsToo Hot, Never Worked Properly

Pros: -bought this HIS card to be my 2nd 4870 in crossfire, was unable to utilize due to heat

Cons: -Was unable to run this card as a crossfired card due its massive heating issues. This card IDLED out of the box in single card config at 70c, and regularly hit 90c+ @ 100% manual fan
-Ran this card for a total of 2 months in single card config, but even downclocked and at 100% fan, could not play modern games (borderlands, Deus ExHR, etc..) without heat shutdowns
-This card never ran properly, I put it in a box to RMA and forgot about it. Took it out today and realized its over the 2 year mark, so I guess I wasted money on this one. Avoid HIS products, I will be.

Other Thoughts: System Specs:
Thermaltake Armor (6 fans + 25cm side)
Intel c2d conroe @ 3.4 (with corsair cpu fan)
pc2-9600 x4gb
ati sapphire 48701gb
corsair 850w psu

4 out of 5 eggsVideo Card

Pros: I purchased this card fifteen months ago for a mid size dual core desktop I was building so I could play some decent games. It's only been in service for twelve months. From day one, it has been a great card.

Cons: With no symptoms or warning, it totally died. No big deal, things happen. I filled out the HIS RMA form five days ago and still haven't heard anything. That is my only disappointment with this thing. I thought I would have heard back by now.

Other Thoughts: I guess I'll have to purchase another card. It looks like I'll be without this one for a while, maybe forever.

1 out of 5 eggs.....

Pros: Good picture. Nice design.

Cons: Installed on a barely used 2nd computer. Bought it in March and now its June, and the card stopped working. Began with picture messing up then BSOD. Restarted it and it was working fine. Turned off the computer and the card stopped working at all. Tested in 2 different computers with no luck. Threw away the box the DAY OF the card not working talk about bad luck. Will never buy HIS products again.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Was good while it lasted.

Cons: Bought it in March and it is now June, barely used it since it was a 2nd PC and problems began when view YouTube and the picture messed up and got BSODed. Rebooted it picture problems and then eventually stopped working. The blue light does not come on anymore. PC ran in a very air conditioned room so temperature was not an issue.

Other Thoughts: The day I threw out the box was the day it decided to stop working. So I can't even warrantying it back is out of the question. Bad luck. Will never buy HIS products again.

2 out of 5 eggsGood... for a while

Pros: Worked great for maybe 8 or 9 months.

Cons: I started up my PC one day and noticed the card was running really hot. There was nothing different that should've caused it to be this way - it just up and started running hot. Now I have to keep the fan at 80% just to keep it at a decent temperature even when not doing anything; 100% while gaming, both of which sound like a hairdryer is running. Couple months later, I guess the card's beginning to get damaged from heat, because it draws a line down the center of my monitor all the time now - on one side of the line everything has higher contrast than the other side. VERY annoying since one of the biggest things I use my computer for is watching TV/movies. It's not the monitor either; I've tested it.

Other Thoughts: Good while it works, but not built to last at all. I will not be buying another HIS product.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card!

Pros: Cool- about 10 degrees cooler than my XFX radeon HD4870. running w/ a 12% o.c. and it's sitting at 58 degrees C. This is one of the only cards that actually vents out of the case. Some look like they do, but this one's shroud goes all the way to the ports.

Quiet- With the fan running 60% and the card overclocked, you still can't hear my card's fan over my other fans.

Performance- I'm playing Mess Effect 2 right now and I'm getting 87fps w/ visuals maxed, x4 AA, and x16 AF @ 1280x768 resolution.

Price- worth it, but it was more expensive than my XFX radeon HD4870 and I bought it 6 months ago.

Cons: the label on mine, came mis-printed with a big smudge in the art work. sounds stupid; but everything else with this card was perfect, I had to complain about something.

Other Thoughts: This is a long card, it stretches from the back of my case all the way up to about an inch away from my drive bays. (CoolerMaster 310 Custom), barely enough room to plug in both 6-pin connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsSwitched from nVidia to ATI

Pros: This card rocks compared to my old 8800GT. I was getting about 20-40 FPS on Assassins Creed 2. Now I get 55-60, which is probably limited because of my Vsync setting. Probably would go higher. I'm getting 135 or so FPS on CODMW2 multiplayer and was getting up to about 95 before.

Cons: This thing is huge and of course uses 2 6-pin power connectors. Not really a con, but if you are limited with space, you need to know this. the cords come straight out the back and take up hard drive space. I have a full tower case.

Other Thoughts: The card also takes up two case slots; one for cooling and one for connectors. It is a very cool card, though.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow-Up Review, Two Months Later

Pros: I decided to do a little follow-up review for this card now that I have had more time to really put it to the test and stress it out.

In a nut shell, I can honestly say, I am still impressed. This card is most definitely money well spent. It chews up any game I throw at it and does not slow down at all. Spitting out high stable frame rates and smooth gameplay across the board at 1600x900.

See below for a few specs and info on game performance.

Cons: None at all. This baby is a beast for a 4000 series card!

Other Thoughts: Running with 4GB A-DATA DDR3 1600G, ASUS M4A77TD Pro MB, AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition (Unlocked to X4 3.4GHz), and a Coolmax 650 Watt PSU.

Playing games like ArmA 2 at all maximum settings results in stable frame rates of about 60-80 in the most intense online battles. Very impressive considering this game is one of the most system demanding games on the market right now.

Bad Company 2 runs at 80-100 FPS, all max settings, smooth and stable, in 32 player servers no matter the situation.

MW2, C&C4, Bioshock 2, Dragon Rising, Fallout 3, your not going to slow this card down unless your system has an underlying problem or other bottleneck. You put this baby in with other good hardware and it will keep you gaming for a very long time!
