5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!!!!!!!!

Pros: -- Low temp most cards are good up to 90+ degrees these days. Mine never gets above 70 on a full load max settings. Usually sits between 56 - 62 when running dirt 2 direct 11 on ultra settings in 1920 X 1800.

Cons: - None so far. I upgraded from an 512mb x1950 pro and these new cards blow it out of the water.

Other Thoughts: This card has torn up every game i have thrown at it. From Crysis, Dragon age, Hot Pursuit. If you want a card that will might it to where you can play all games no problems and don't have the 300+ to get the high end ones. This card here is your baby. Although i got it 20 dollars cheaper. This is still worth the money.

my setup
- ASUS M4A79 Deluxe
- AMD Phenom II x4 3.0 GHZ
- Patriot 6GB DDR2 800 Ram
- 1TB Western Digital Black
- Windows 7 64

1 out of 5 eggsruns great.. when it doesn't freeze my system

Pros: Looks cool
crossfire support

Cons: freezes any game in fullscreen that demands video preformance.
technical support seems to be lacking. Can't even create an account with them (been waiting on a response to my ticket for a few days)

Other Thoughts: Crashes in immediately in fullscreen:
Crysis, Rift (beta). Starcraft 2, Supreme Commander 2
Big cards, may not fit in some cases. (fit in my df-35)
Gonna stick to xfx next time.
Hopefully I can confirm that this is a driver issue and not have to hassle with returns.

3 out of 5 eggsA little Dissapointed

Pros: Kept Cool on High settings. Easy to install.

Cons: I was disappointed with this card because I upgraded from a SLI GTS 250 and the results were not impressive at all. I thought I did all the research but I guess I missed a few details. The combined 3dmark06 score for these cards in crossfire was 19000+ sometimes ~20000. My GTS 250 single (since I couldn't sli on an AMD board) was ~17000. So for the price of the upgrade I was dissappointed

Other Thoughts: Just a reminder, you will need an active display-port adapter to use eyefinity unless you already have a display port monitor

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: It looks nice in its case, and seems to work out of the box.
Good looking heat sink which seems to keep the card cooler than others I have.

Cons: Photoshop CS5 GPU enhancements = Crash
DVDfab with DXVI video decoding enabled = Crash
Framerate drops in FFXIV
Framerate drops in Mafia 2
Framerate drops in Batman Arkaham Asylum
Screen flickers once windows is up and your moving windows around.
RMA is 2-4 weeks AFTER approval.

Other Thoughts: Replaced with a XFX 5830 off newegg, all problems disappeared. Oh and the XFX was cheaper too, but does run about 4C hotter underload.

5 out of 5 eggsPrefection

Pros: - Low Temp
- Incredible Speed
- Runs max settings

Cons: - Size i have a bigger size mid tower case and it goes almost to my hard drive rack.
- Uses 2 power connectors so if i want to go to crossfire i have to get a newer power supply. Not the card fault so i didnt deduct for that. As most card are that way now.

Other Thoughts: I have had this card for 4 months now and it has run everything at full settings at 1920 x 1800 on a 32" screen. And looks absolutely amazing. No slow do at all. I haven't tried crysis since going 64bit and 6gb of ram but i know it ran it pretty good before that upgrade. Currently playing World at War, Prototype, Shift, and hot pursuit. ALL RUNS GREAT.

The hottest its every run on me is 56 degrees c under full load around 32 idle so its got plenty of room to give for over closkers with the right cooling setup used. I havent done any tweaking thou. I just spend the extra bucks for a better part instead of overclocking.

used with
AMD phenom II x4 3.0 ghz
6.0gb of ddr2 800 ram
750 Watt ultra X2 connect power supple
Asus M4a79 Deluxe motherboard

Also not that i just went from 32 bit xp to 64 bit 7 and the process was smooth and the card works with both of them. Just get the drivers off of the ati website.

1 out of 5 eggsPowers System Off

Pros: Super fast framerates at ultra high detail...for about ten minutes.

Cons: Not enough room to write a detailed review, but here's the abridged version. Minimum PSU requirement for the card is 500w. Mine is 600w. Both my 6 pin PCIx power connectors are on the same cable. I plugged them in, card powered my system off at first startup.
I throttled my CPU back from 3.2ghz to 2.8ghz, unplugged my 2nd hard drive, unplugged my 2 optical drives and used the 2 4-pin to 1 6-pin adapter so it would have the PCIx hookups each get their own line. It still powers my system off whenever it feels like it. It has power failures when games are running, when sitting at the Windows desktop, while booting, when changing settings in BIOS, basically all over the place. My PSU exceeds the requirements for this card, but it still kills my system. I suspect it's a defect in the voltage regulators on the card, and it's trying to pull more power through the PCIx slot than it's supposed to. Oh and the drivers are annoying to install and uninstall.

Other Thoughts: I put BOTH my 4670's back in and ran them in X-fire mode, hooked up ALL my optical drives and hard drives, left my new discreet sound card and wireless card installed, and reset my CPU to 3.2ghz. So far no shutdowns, and that's got to be close to if not exceeding the power that this card is supposed to pull by itself.

And before you say anything, no it's not overheating. As soon as it shuts down, I feel the RAM, CPU heat pipes, Video card, and North Bridge heat sinks and they're all barely warm. Oddly enough, though, since installing this card there is discoloration on my motherboard beneath the North Bridge heat sink. If this thing pulled so much voltage through the PCIx bus that it damaged my motherboard I'm going to be...disagreeable.

Oh and the card's physical dimensions are insane.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: -Much Quieter then XFX5770, and quiet under load too
-Can run MW2 at all max settings with no problem
-scores 7.6 on windows7 experience scale out of 7.9
-runs the twin dvi on 2 1080 monitors with no issues ( i know that is not impressive)

Cons: Huge, might not fit in a small case. it made it into my decent sized atx case by a half inch. plugging the twin 12v harnesses in were a real tight fit. It also blocks some of my SATA ports on my matx mobo which is a bummer.
Did i mention it is huge?

Other Thoughts: I did not use the CD that came with, i just went to ati site and got the latest.

AMD Phemon II x4 955BE
HIS Radeon HD 5830
8gb Ripjaws DDR3
2x 23" 1080 monitors dvi

4 out of 5 eggsDecent card

Pros: 1) Used to be a good budget card for gamer. Still not bad at this moment. Just the release of 6850 should make this card drops in price soon.
2) Play very smoothly on FFXIV.
3) Easy to install
4) Very quiet and maintain at low temperature.

Cons: 1) lost my first shipment but newegg did an excellent job in replacing my card for me.
2) This card is LONG. It is longer than radeon 6850.
3) The price should drop soon. So, I will recommend you to wait a bit. Radeon 6850 is cheaper than this!
4) Use more power than my 5830.
