2 out of 5 eggs3 monitors was like pulling teeth

Pros: Probably never needed half the GPU power this thing has, I'm not a gamer. Wanted to run 3 displays and eventually got that to work.

Cons: Very finicky about seating in the slot, intermittent problems with that over the first year or so. Wanted to use 3 screens without using an actual display-port monitor. Thus began a long painful slog to get this to work - finally would up with one VGA, one HDMI and one DVI-D using a display port "powered" adapter that doesn't have a power connection. ---- the vendor site had plenty of suggestions that just did not work for me - wouldn't buy something without very explicit simple guaranteed 3-monitor support again.

Other Thoughts: Seems to work well with my AMD 970 chipset

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
We are sorry for your situation and suggest you try to check following steps.
1. You can use directly input or Active Dongle to check it again. Don't use Passive Dongle. And must test each output port separately.
2. If possible verify the HIS graphics card on another working system or verify another working card on your motherboard. Need to ensure that the platform is no problem.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our customer service department directly.

Best Regards

4 out of 5 eggsWas a good card

Pros: Was a good card for the money when i bought it 2 years ago.
Ran everything i threw at it till this year with CoD: AW

Cons: Short lifespan.
Fan started to make noises after about 14 months of ownership. To be fair the rig runs 24/7.
Fan finally gave up the ghost after just under 2 years.

Other Thoughts: Died so quick. My last card lasted over 5 years.
Replacing it with an R9 280 OC 3GB.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty solid

Pros: Can run most games on mid to high settings
Great if your just looking to play casualy

Cons: Fan started to slow down had to replace it

Other Thoughts: After a couple months the fan started to slow down and make a grinding noise. I had to replace the heat sink but that wasn't a big expense. It still holds up a year and a half later and can run pretty much everything you can throw at it if you don't mind playing on a lower graphic setting.

1 out of 5 eggsIt was a great card, until it caught FIRE!

Pros: Affordable, quiet, and efficient. It was capable of playing BF3 and Crysis 2 at 1920x1080 at around 50FPS. I really enjoyed fire..

Cons: Like I said in my title, It literally caught fire. I was playing Civilization V at 1920X1080 at max settings, and it was running like a champ, then suddenly my computer just shut down. I went to go turn it back on and saw a bright orange glow, I look down into my case and I see fire. at the connection to where the power supply connects to the card the transistor right next to it ignited into a jet of flame, I quickly ripped my case apart, and removed the card.

Luckily the rest of my hardware was OK, but the card was toast. I have sent it back to HIS for RMA and I am awaiting replacement.

Other Thoughts: As this card is now discontinued I would have suggested for anyone reading this not to purchase it. I would not like this to happen to them as it did to me.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD FAN

Pros: Excellent video card very powerful for the price

Cons: Fan started making noise within 3 months, failed in less than 1 year. Can't ship out card for warranted replacement and they won't send out a fan.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: I got this card on sale for about $90 and it came with Dirt 3. I have pushed this card hard with BF3, Diablo 3, LoL and Skyrim and it has been flawless. I think most of the negative reviews are from people just expecting to slap a new card in old hardware and expect that to work. If you are upgrading parts from a 7 year old machine... you may need to build a new one, just saying! I have never experienced any of the issues anyone has said about locking up their computer (seems like a driver issue to me) Just keep it updated and you will have no problem. As for fan noise, I wear headphones if I am gaming, so I don't notice anything, this is not meant to be a super quiet media center card. It's usually only $100... so take it for what it is. I would recommend this to anyone, and am getting a second to crossfire.

Cons: It runs a little warm so I recommend a case with good air flow.
The card is also thick so make sure you have a decent size case as well.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a mid ranged budget gaming card, this will do fine, and later you can crossfire it for better performance. If you are a person that really doesn't know a lot about new hardware, and drivers, and basically things that are important.... don't bash the card, do some research or get someone that knows what they are doing to help you.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap Fan!

Pros: Works great. I have it driving a 24" 1920x1200 monitor on DisplayPort and two 20" 1600x1200 monitors on the DVI ports. Lots of VMWare, some basic Photoshop, seems t handle it all just fine. Not a big gamer so can't comment.

Cons: Six months in and the fan died. Card cranks to 100° C and then my PC stops dead in its tracks. Doing some Googling and finding bad fans to be common. Vendor site does not offer any convenient way to RMA or even just purchase a new fan. Very disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None to my knowledge so far.

Cons: A friend and I each bought this graphics card with our Christmas money, and graduation money. For my friend, it stopped after a month of use. (Crashing, etc.) For me, however, it never worked. I amongst many others have absolutely double-checked everything as to make sure it was hooked up correctly. I have a 1050 Watt power supply, so power is not an issue. This graphics card is poorly made, and I would never recommend this to anyone. I am very disappointed that i wasted over 100 dollars on this card. While others on here at least enjoyed their card for a day, mine never worked. I cant send this card back either, for I had originally thought that the card would not work due to lack of power from my old 450 watt power supply. By the time i got the money for the 1050 watt supply, I was out of time to send this card back. Not happy.
