5 out of 5 eggsHIS Radeon 7970 3GB

Pros: Excellent card for the price. It runs very cool and has ample room to overclock if you want to.

Very fast, solid build quality though the HSF could use a bit better fan. Very brittle fan blades but they work great.

Low noise to performance ratio.
Runs 1680x1020 with high details in BF3 around 60-75fps on average. For a budget card, that's not bad!

I replaced a 4970x2, and a Radeon 4970 1GB in Tri-Fire for this single card and it ALMOST outperforms them in most games.

Highly Recommended

4 out of 5 eggsAfter owning it a year and a half..

Pros: Card will slaughter anything I throw at it. Been playing Crysis 3 MP on ultra with 2x MSAA for weeks. It is absolutely a beast and for $399 it is 100% worth it. I paid $549 for mine a year and a half ago.

Cons: My original purchase review was 1 egg because of the error message I was getting anytime I was using my computer. A few months down the road after several new driver releases this has been fixed. I never contacted support I just kept installing every new driver release until it was fixed. Docked one egg because I run a dual-monitor setup and switch out my main monitor to play xbox 360 on since my monitor has 1 hdmi slot only and for some reason this freezes my computer anytime that the monitors go into low power mode. Also watching mkv files or mp4 or anything similar I get a frame rate drop for a few seconds uaing both Zoom and GOM player. Still great for gaming especially at $399!

Other Thoughts: Annoying fps drops every once in awhile and computer hangs inconsistently when swapping hdmi cable from main display to xbox360.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Custom Watercooling

Pros: -If you are looking to watercool, look no further than this card. Reference design, cheap, with stock fans. It will fit any standard 7970 GPU block.

-Overclocked fairly well. I have it running at 1150MHz base clock, 1575MHz Memory clock with stock voltages.

-I have 2 running in CrossFire, and so far haven't experienced any issues. They are benchmarking extremely well.

Cons: -Kind of have a boring, cheap look and run hot with the stock fan. If you are going to be showing off your computer with a window and/or at LAN parties, you might want a better looking model. If you plan on heavy overclocking, get one with a better cooler. It served my purposes perfectly, though.

5 out of 5 eggsFast!

Pros: Card runs everything i throw at it.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: the reference cooler isn't that great so the card heats up to 80c fast.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast card

Pros: Handles everything I have thrown at it so far! Came with a stand to hold it up. Fan kicks in and keeps the card cool. Came good-to-go on first shipment!

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Full-Tower recommended, barely fit my mid-tower (up against the 3.5inch bay. Fan is noisy, but not a con since it keeps the card cool. BF4 will be the real test! I came over from Nvidia and am not regretting it yet. Highly recommend!

2 out of 5 eggsHeadache!

Pros: When This card works, it runs everything I throw at it Flawlessly. Stays Quiet, runs Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and plenty of other games without a hitch. never had a problem on my Asus M4a78t-E Phenom II Board.

Cons: I initially Purchased this Card for a buddy's X79 i7 build, but the card had screen Tearing and artifacts that would cause it to continuously crash. The fan speed on auto would stay at 100% because windows read the temp always at 0c. this is when I got the card back and tested it on my AMD machine and it worked fine for 4 months. now recently I purchased a new board asrock z77e-itx socket 1155, all the problems that happened on the x79 are now happening again. ive tried many different versions of Drivers with no prevail. this has been leading me to believe its and issue only on intel boards.

Other Thoughts: I have managed to stop the screen tearing and artifacts for now. at one point I had the Temperature displaying and the auto fan working correctly. The Temperature Quickly corrected itself and displays 0c again. for the time being I have set the fan manually lower because the fan is ridiculously loud at 100% and I am able to play games with no issues. slightly Switching the Angle that this card sits in the PCI-E slot seems to fix/Cause the issues. I my eventually have to send the card into HIS before my warranty runs out. I've heard that the process is extremely annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing graphics card

Pros: Good price, plays all games maxed out at 1080p and the gpu wont even break a sweat, runs cooler then my previous card and the red black color matches my computer quite well.

Cons: The fan can get pretty loud when the gpu is under load. The graphics card is very big and heavy kinda worried if the pci-e slot can take the weight but so far it has, knock on wood.

Other Thoughts: So far this is the most powerful most reliable card ive ever used and for the price id say i got a good deal.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card Loud

Pros: The card is great. It installed easy in a big case and the drivers are easy to install. I used this card to multi box wow with 3 instances of wow running. I was getting around 50-60fps on average for all 3 windows. I can run bioshock infinite on ultra with no issues.

Cons: This card is loud. 1 fan when spinning at high rpms is just loud. When the card spins up I can hear it through my Sennheiser PC 350 head phones that are a closed ear-cup design. I am going to buy an after market cooler. I am leaving 1 egg off because I will be spending 90 bucks on a cooler for a card I just spent 390 for.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: performance, price(389.00), 2 free game downloads

Cons: length of card, newegg running out of stock to buy another one

Other Thoughts: well before I bought the card seen some of the reviews that were negative.. still bought card.. I don't know if I got a good card but I have had no issues of what these other people are going through.. updated the drivers to latest beta, no problems, no artifact tearing or blue screen crashes.. most games are found as very high or even ultra.. replaced sli'ed 560s' blows it out of water..
Only issue I had with the card was my old case could not fit it so research b4 you buy but not enough to knock an egg off..
hope it comes back in stock for me to buy one b4 income tax money runs out lol.. also have the card overclocked and no issues
