The super large two 89mm dual axial fans draws massive amount of cool air to cool the GPU directly. The Q&C fan blade increases air velocity making cooling more efficiently while keeping noise level at minimum. With a life span of up to 50,000 hours the fan delivers reliable, long lasting performance. The card also features fan control and monitoring, you are able to read fan speed and Asic temperature from iTurbo or other software. Memory and mosfet are equipped with heat sinks for extra heat dissipation. The card is below 28dB when watching movies, surfing Facebook, working. The card remains quiet whether you are gaming, socializing online, entertaining, or working.

Solid State Choke stabilizes the card and Full Solid State Capacitors ensures the best power quality and enhances the card’s stability in critical gaming situations! PCB might easily be warped due to prolonged hanging on the motherboard and casing, potentially causing cracks on BGA solder joints and resulting in malfunctioning of the card. 5 out of 5 eggsWow...

Pros: -Quiet fan
-Runs cool (never broke 68*) during repeated benchmarking
- Running Star Citizen Hangar at steady 60FPS on High and 40FPS on Ultra
- Great price for a monster card.

Cons: This thing is Long. I mean really long. I have a full size case and I had to cut out a slot in my lower hard drive cage in order for it to fit. Totally worth it though.

4 out of 5 eggsa little disappointed

Pros: great card. fast, plays anything perfectly

Cons: not a con on the card, but 2 days after I ordered this card the price dropped 70 dollars on this site. that blows.
I can see 5 or 10 dollars, but 70? wow...

5 out of 5 eggsDriver

Pros: Runs cool and quiet. When mining it also runs quieter than my other cards.

Cons: Had to go to to the Beta version of catalyst driver to get it to be stable with miner running.

Other Thoughts: I like the nice fan setup it has but it is a rather big card and there is no space between crossfired cards. So cooling the two cards can be an issue. Still very nice card. I should have bought two.

4 out of 5 eggsIt was great while it lasted.

Pros: Runs really quietly, doesn't get too hot and it can run anything I throw at it, and at the time the price was great.

Cons: The size is a bit of a hindrance and it barely fit in my case, it's build is the only con I can really think of. I had my computer shipped to me (insured) and when it arrived my GPU wasn't working, I get purple lines on the screen and windows hangs right on boot, and the HDMI doesn't work anymore.

I'm fairly certain the USPS damaged it (and I've made a claim) but if the card wasn't so bulky and the framing wasn't a little fragile I'm pretty sure it would have been fine. I'm not gonna try to return it to the manufacturer because I highly doubt it's death is their fault, but now I have to pay $200 more if I want another 280X. (Note this isn't a criticism of the USPS, I'm just saying it worked when it was shipped and arrived dead.)

Other Thoughts: Great card and at the time the price was amazing, the card runs perfectly but it's way too fragile, and now I'm $200 in the hole which really hurts.

I'd recommend this card to anyone looking to stay just under the 290X's price range, but I'd only recommend getting one of these babies once the ridiculous price has gone down.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly good with a couple flaws

Pros: - Relative to the 290x, it's pretty cool (hottest it gets in crossfire is 78c)
- Not annoyingly loud. Definitely quieter than a blower fan
- 700kh/s right out of the box
- Runs games great

Cons: - Fans can rattle a bit. I ordered 3 of these cards and 2 of them had small rattles that eventually went away.
- Fins are VERY delicate and easily bend
- This card is incredibly long. Just make sure you do you research before buying. Fits in my Coolermaster HAF XB Evo without any issues
- These cards offgas a bit at first*

Other Thoughts: *To clarify, when you first use most cards, they tend to create that new electronic equipment smell for a little while. Out of the 3 I ordered, I had one that ran about 10c hotter under identical conditions than the other 2 and, as a result I suppose, had a much stronger smell. The smell drove me nuts (I imagine this was because the card was overheating getting up to 90c), and the temp difference was just not acceptable, so I had to RMA it. Knocked off an egg for that.

5 out of 5 eggsfast quiet GOOD

Pros: very quiet card so far. mining at about 702khs average. also running it on 535 watt PSU. no idea why the manufacturer recommends 750w minimum but I am getting max performance currently

Cons: running a little hot mining but i keep another fan on it and it holds under 85c no problem

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: This card is amazing. It runs very cool and quiet as well. Every game i have tested gets knocked out of the park but this card. This thing is a beast for sure.

Cons: When others say that this card is long they are not kidding. I had to remove the HDD cage to male room for the additional length of this beast. Totally worth it however.

Other Thoughts: I got this card when it was on sale and you really could not bet the price to performance but it has gone up quite a bit in price since i bought it so Im not really sure how it stacks up against other cards in this new price range.

5 out of 5 eggsLucky me

Pros: Sweet! Worked out of the box, 8.2 rating on Win 8.1.

Cons: Went to buy a 2nd one and they were out of stock with a higher price jump of 50%. Looks like they want to move out all old stock of 79XX series before they push these more capable and reliable cards to the general public.

Other Thoughts: Did I say it was fast?

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing so far

Pros: Runs very cool. Maxes out all the games I have played so far without much a problem. Overclocked nicely without any trouble at all.

Cons: CD comes with earlier drivers. Save yourself the trouble and download the drivers from the AMD site. Card is HUGE, so make sure you have adequate space.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this graphics card when it wasn't so expensive. Now that the r9's are gaining speed and recognition, the priced has jump 100 USD in just a week's time. As of now, this is one of the more expensive 280x's, and people might be thwarted by it's seemingly uninteresting core clock. You could never make a bigger mistake, as this card is one of the BEST graphics card I have seen to date.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns cool, voltage unlocked

Pros: Using this mostly for scrypt mining:
-Runs cool, I have it in a case on a non-fulltime miner by itself, sits at 73C without much trouble
-Runs 670KHash easily while scrypt mining, haven't tweaked it much
-Voltage unlocked for undervolting

Cons: -VERY long card, you'll need a large case. The cooler extends well beyond the PCB. A good 2 inches longer than some of the bigger 7970's
