  • newegg iPower for More Voltage, More Overclocking iPower design allows the card to carry more voltage, expanding overclocking capability to a new level! HIS cards utilize Dynamic Phase Control PWM IC to save power for better use. Along with improved power design, digital power design, and a two-ounce copper layer, HIS cards make the best out of power, carrying better OC capability and pushing clock speeds to the full potential!
  • newegg IceQ X² – Cooler, Quieter With IceQ X², the card is cooler and quieter than the reference cooler. The two 8mm and three 6mm wide heatpipes optimize cooling performance by removing heat from the core area, and the extra large 40 x 47.5mm copper heatsink provides a large area to dissipate heat efficiently. The two super large 89mm dual-axial fans draw a massive amount of cool air to cool the GPU directly. The Q&C fan blade increases air velocity, making cooling more efficient, while keeping the noise level to a minimum. With a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, the fan delivers reliable, long-lasting performance. The card also features fan control and monitoring; you are able to read the fan speed and Asic temperature from an iTurbo or other software. The memory and mosfet are equipped with heatsinks for extra heat dissipation. The card is below 28dB when watching movies, surfing Facebook, or working. The card remains quiet whether you are gaming, socializing online, entertaining, or working.
  • newegg Long Lasting Design: Safer, Last Longer! The card has two Bios, ensuring the card runs properly. You can always switch to the second Bios if the card does not run with the first Bios. HIS cards are engineered with the highest standards of safety, keeping them safe from any potential damage. The solid state choke stabilizes the card, while the full solid state capacitors ensure the best power quality and enhance the card’s stability in critical gaming situations! The PCB might easily warp due to prolonged hanging on motherboard and casing, potentially causing cracks on BGA solder joints and resulting in malfunctioning of the card. The backplate designs reinforce the PCB, making the PCB more long lasting and not easy deformed.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. (Application support is required.)
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio Technology AMD TrueAudio technology brings the world’s first programmable audio pipeline, marking a new frontier in realism for PC gamers. AMD TrueAudio technology empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU, inviting them to put their unique artistic fingerprint on in-game audio in the same way that the programmable graphics pipeline brought unfettered artistic vision to PC graphics. Enabled games can feature more realistic environmental dynamics, a richer tapestry of sound effects, breathtaking directional audio, and more. AMD TrueAudio technology enhances audio realism by simulating the human brain’s perception of real-world sound, working in concert with the user’s existing audio hardware to recreate a lifelike experience.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdated Information

Pros: Update to prior post:
Fast Card, Has no issues playing whatever games I throw at it.

Cons: My Con would be how loud it usually gets when getting stressed. The problem I seem to have been having and the reason for the fans having to max themselves out to cool the card had to do with the fact that the manufacturer put WAY TOO MUCH THERMAL PASTE on the Chipset. I took out the card just to take a look at it and decided to strip it down and to my astonishment it had so much thermal paste it was oozing out of the corners. Regardless I fixed the issue and now the fans don't hit near 100% anymore to bring the temps down. I suppose it could also have to do with the fact that I am also using decent thermal Paste as well (Antec Formula 7).

Other Thoughts: My suggestion would be if you do buy this video card...Well honestly any video card, check the thermal paste as that will impact performance quite a Lot.

My Suggestion to HIS and All other Video Card Makers. There is absolutely NO REASON to use that much thermal paste. It causes the heat to NOT DISSIPATE. Too much paste equals bad airflow.

5 out of 5 eggsquiet 290x video card

Pros: idle at temp 91 F and running 3dmark fire strike 1.1 temp is 161 F.
I had a Gigabyte Radeon 7970 and H290X card defiantly quieter, before this I had a gigabyte gtx 770 and H290X card is a little bit quieter but runs hotter than my gtx 770 card . If you want something quiet, then get this card. I have own this card for about 10 months and it is sold card.

Cons: Card runs a little bit hot, but runs a lot cooler then AMD 290x reference card. Even though this is not a over clocked card, this card is defiantly faster than then the reference card because the core clock stays at 1000 mhz and doesn't drop down.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Fans quieter than a reference R9 290X while loaded
Lower Powertune throttling than reference due to better cooling

Cons: Physically longer than necessary
Physically thicker than necessary
Fans audible at idle
No adapters whatsoever included

Other Thoughts: I only picked up this particular R9 290X due to a sale, and while it did fit in my case, I wouldn't have chosen this particular model had it not been for the discount. I needed to order a PCIe 6-to-8 pin power adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, Will get loud if you Turn Fan All The Way Up to Max

Pros: Ok so far no issues to speak of at all. The Card is dead silent when playing pretty much any game and even when it get's a little bit stressed it is still pretty silent and the temps are great.

Cons: Kinda a pain to situate the power connectors but my plugs where fairly stiff as I am using a new PSU in my PC.

Other Thoughts: For those who say this thing is Loud. Let me take a guess that your OC to hell and cranking the fan to Max. That is the only way this thing gets truly loud and obnoxious and even still it is pretty quit considering. I am also going to guess some of the people killing their cards are trying to use this to Mine Cryptocurrency which of course will KILL a card if on 24/7 in about a month and that is giving it leeway.

5 out of 5 eggsHIS ICEQ = Amazing

Pros: I have owned 4 IceQ series radeon cards and MANY other HIS cards over the years including this 290x and I have been floored with how reliable they are, how cool they stay on air (even in a mediocre case) and of course how they perform exactly as they should. HIS is probably the most underrated manufacturer of AMD cards. Oh yeah, iceQ cards are pretty much all dead silent too. I have two of these 290x's in a crossfire and can barely tell the PC is on.

Cons: They need to work on their marketing, and put some bling on their cards so the neophyte gamer masses will buy them. Looking slick is about the only place these cards don't outshine the competition.

Other Thoughts: A few people have said the card is bulky but when I see this all I can think about is how EVERY SINGLE high end video card on on the market is exactly the same size or bigger... yet these previous reviewers say their tech knowledge is a 5.... 2 would be more accurate. I would bet my next paycheck that most, if not all, of these people claiming their card doesn't work for them probably have another failure in the PC they can't find due to less than adequate knowledge of what they are doing. Don't get me wrong, all companies make duds from time to time but I don't believe for a second that I just happened to have used 20+ HIS cards that ALL performed perfectly for 3-5 years until they were replaced with an upgrade. I'm not that lucky.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Warranty

Pros: The warranty is a joke. It is designed to make you frustrated and go away. I do not know why this company drives away its customers by using a low rent middle man lexypacific to handle there middle man shipping needs. When all they do is tell you to contact HIS whom after a week or two says contact lexypacific. Run around and around.

Cons: If your card fails your are better off buying a new card from a reputable company. With a proven track record.

Other Thoughts: Being laughed at by lexypacific for being frustrated that the return RMA has taken 6 months so far and am still waiting for a card that works.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Card BUT LOUD!

Pros: Solid, well built card. Not sure if it's quieter than stock cards but it's very quiet when not under load. Plays all games flawlessly and works well with Dual DVI and my 29-inch wide load monitor.

Cons: Hard to get power cables situated on top of the card. It took a lot of finagling and work to get them situated. Under gaming load it sounds like an F-16 on take off! HIS is known for "quiet cooling" not so on this bad boy. Long and heavy. Make sure you've a case and Mobo that can support this sucker.

Other Thoughts: Should've done more research into the noise levels on this class of card. Makes me long for my old 7750.
