5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: It was low cost, low power, and played my games OK. Great for the money, and worked well until the day I resold it recently.

Cons: Only 96 cores... but for the price and power consumption, can't be too picky.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible, avoid at all costs

Pros: - small and quiet
- lower power consumption
- cheap
- performed well when functioning properly

Cons: - No drivers outside the originals would work for me. as soon as I attempted to update the drivers, I would loose all video on my screen and would be forced to boot via safe mode and delete the new drivers just to get it working. Setting video to discrete card only in the BIOS also did not fix this issue. I was unable to find a fix for this online and could not get a response from Galaxy.

- Wasn't reliable with original drivers either. I would randomly loose all picture and be forced to boot in safe mode, uninstall the GPU and reinstall it.

Other Thoughts: This was used in my self built HTPC

The issues didn't arise until after the 30 day RMA period so I was out of luck.

I just purchased an EVGA GeForce GTX 650 as a replacement

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Cheap, works great for home theater and games from a couple years back. The card overclocks fairly well even without voltage increments.

Cons: None that come to mind

Other Thoughts: It does 1080p great, played sims 3 on max settings at over 80fps, played MW3 on medium-high settings(30fps), played bf3 on low (30fps), and skyrim on high (no mods at 45fps). This was a huge upgrade for me being I was getting back into PC gaming and upgraded my ATI 2600pro AGP. The graphics are better than a 360/ps3. And it cost like $65 when I got it. It was good quality and a good bang for the buck. But its not good for medium or high end gaming, I didnt add that as a con because I already knew this card wasnt built for that. But overall 5 eggs because of price/performance and quality of the product and company.

5 out of 5 eggsReceived my rebate!

Pros: low price, 128bit, 1gb, very quiet, great HD playback and improved video editing.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: So I first reviews this back on 4/26/12. Today I received my rebate of $18 (minus $2 for 'express' processing).
So after the shell shocker price and rebate, I paid $33 for this gem! Performance has been great and I just cannot complain.
I use Sony Vegas 10 for video editing and I definitely notice a difference during editing. All bluray content looks stunning with this card.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh ...

Pros: Relatively cheap for a GT430 1GB 128 bit DDR3 card. Which is why I bought it. I don't do a lot of gaming, my system is more of a work horse than it is a racer. I have a better video card for my main display and the computer this card is in has 5 monitors including a TV. Works good on the TV, no stuttering or motion blurring that's obvious enough to notice.

Uses the standard nVidia driver package so being as I keep those up to date the system recognized the card and ran it with no problems driver-wise.

It's quiet enough, I can't tell which card makes more noise when the fans are maxed out so it's no worse than anything else in the system.

I bought two of these, the one that's still in the machine is in the very bottom PCI-x16 slot so it's not covering any other slots.

The Galaxy card that's still working I haven't had any problems with ... yet.

Cons: Bought 2 of these to run my 3 secondary displays and TV. One of them died while still covered by NewEgg RMA policy so I sent it back and dropped an older GTX 8500 card into the system to fill in until the RMA came back.

I'm leaving the GTX 8500 in the system and keeping the RMA for a spare instead of vice-versa. The performance differences for my purposes is unnoticeable.

This card takes up TWO SLOTS, it will eclipse whatever is the next slot underneath it. It might be possible to force something in there but I hate to take chances with an expensive ASUS Sabertooth board and FX-8150 Bulldozer octocore. When you do that you have to be VERY careful about shorting anything on the backside of the card you put underneath this one. The heat sink is about 5mm too deep and nothing would have been lost by making this a single slot card so that shows pretty poor engineering. It LOOKS like a single slot card in the pics but it's not.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg RMA'd the card with no problem but I had to pay $9 shipping so that made a so-so card even more expensive and no bargain at all. I don't have any issues with NewEgg, I've been buying from them for many years and have spent many thousands of dollars with them. They've never let me down.

I won't be buying any more Galaxy cards though, EVER. I'll just wait for these to die, and looking at other reviews that's a matter of when not if. This kind of thing happens when you buy computer hardware, you have to expect to eat a loss now and then so I'm not real upset, it's just a lesson learned. I've been working on computers for 30 years and except for laptops I haven't owned a stock store model computer for at least 20 years. I've been building my own for a long time and I've always had pretty good results so this just goes with the territory.

I would NOT recommend this card to a friend. I would NOT put any Galaxy card in a machine I build for anyone either. Take it from the
