The Galaxy GTX 670 GC edition is custom fitted with the Galaxy exclusive Force Air Bracket for improved airflow and better cooling. It is factory overclocked at 1006MHz which is 91MHz higher than the reference card. The 1344 core GTX 670 GPU lies at the heart of this card which includes support for cutting edge features such as GPU Boost, a revolutionary technology that automatically increases GPU clock speeds to maximize performance and efficiency for each individual game and application.  Adaptive Vsync technology provides the smoothest gaming experience possible by automatically adjusting refresh rates in real time.  Up to 4 displays can be simultaneously connected across the card’s flexible assortment of outputs and, as you would expect from the latest performance Galaxy graphics cards, the GTX 670 fully support 3D Vision, PhysX, and DirectX 11.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.
  • newegg Two New Anti-aliasing Modes: FXAA and TXAA Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be demanding on framerates. FXAA is a new antialiasing technology that produces beautiful smooth lines with minimal performance impact. And with Kepler based GPUs, you'll be able to enable FXAA in hundreds of game titles through the NVIDIA Control Panel. The second mode, TXAA, is an in-game option that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for even higher visual fidelity.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready2 NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology4. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from 3DVisionLive.com in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

2 out of 5 eggsUPDATE

Pros: This card worked flawlessly when it worked, I ran all of my games at the highest settings without any framerate or gameplay issues.

Cons: As of today (4/22/2013) my card is no longer working. Over the past few days I had been having problems with my screen freezing and then going to black. When my screen would come back from black, there would be a message displayed that the video driver had stopped working and recovered. It got worse as time went on and eventually when my screen went black, it never came back.

Other Thoughts: I'll be installing an old Raedon 5770 for now while I try to figure out what to do. I will be contacting Galaxy about this problem ASAP.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely pleased.

Pros: This is my first custom rig that me and my friend put together, I went with this card because the price when I got it was great and the difference in performance between this card and the 680 wasn't big enough for me to justify spending $60 - $100 more. This card runs all the games I have played so far at max settings without a hiccup. I currently am frequenting Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, and Skyrim.

Cons: At the time of this review, you can get an EVGA GTX 680 for $400 (I paid $380 for my 670). I thought of sending mine back and ordering the 680, but I'm just too happy with this card to go through all that trouble.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the money, will definitely look at Galaxy cards again next time I upgrade.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Card works great.

Cons: The game codes for both free games Borderlands 2 & Assassins Creed 3 didn't work. I was really looking forward to testing out the card with those games...

Other Thoughts: A real let down after i spent 1700$ on a new computer build. Thanks newegg:)

1 out of 5 eggsDefective card

Pros: good for the 2 to 5 minutes it works for

Cons: defective card that is causing constant crashes and screen issues

Other Thoughts: Shortly after putting together my new rig, I began having issues anytime I'd play a game. Constant driver crashes and resets along with screen artifacts. After a lot of troubleshooting and installing the card in another machine, determined it was defective. Hoping Galaxy support can help me...

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Sweet Board!

Pros: Installed this along with new motherboard, proc and memory. Sweet - easy and even did a clean xfer of Windows 7 Ultimate without a hitch or losing any apps. Got the latest drivers from nVidia website and voila - this is one fast mama and love the CUDA for Adobe products. Also, amazingly the board is also very quiet which from some reviews seemed to have been an issue.

Cons: None that I can state.

Other Thoughts: I watched the battle of nVidia vs AMD (Radeon etc) for several years now, and finally, I have to say, I am now leaning towards nVidia not just because of Adobe support, but particularly due to very clean drivers. This has been one of the cleanest and easiest installs ever. I am a power user on Adobe products such as AE, PP and PS.... Sony Vegas Pro seems to like this as well. Very stable so far.

1 out of 5 eggsGPU = 705Mhz

Pros: Plays games in Windows just fine.

Cons: GPU = 705Mhz. I use linux and this is what I see. Also, in Windows, GPU-Z shows under 3D Application speed = 705Mhz. To make this card completely worthless: since Fermi, NVIDIA has failed to support overclocking with their drivers. In order to OC this in linux my only option is to flash the BIOS. I cannot find a custom 670 BIOS with the settings I want, nor are there any programs out (yet) that support customizing the 670 BIOS files.

Other Thoughts: I should have gotten a 7970... and I just may do that. The rest of what I would like to say will prevent me from posting this review.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your GTX 670 set up and working exactly the way you want it. It sounds to me like there might be a problem with the installation of the drivers or OC utilities, or something else isn't meshing properly with the graphics software on the system. Citing many reputable reviews and speaking from personal experience, the GTX 670 GC is an extremely overclockable card and it's rare to hear a complaint in this regard. That being said, I invite you to please contact me directly at andrew@galaxytechus.com so we can figure out what the problem is and get it corrected post haste.

Thanks!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: This is a very powerful piece of hardware. Was a lot quieter than my EVGA GTX 570 SC amazingly enough. Ran Borderlands 2 at 110 frames a second on max settings. Looked beautiful on my 120hz monitor. Borderlands 2 and Assassin's Creed III were nice bonuses to this card.

Cons: None really.

2 out of 5 eggsThe card works fine

Pros: Running 2 in SLi and they work well. Heat was at 78C for the first card and 81C for the second after an hour of Borderlands 2 at 5760x1080 which was expected.

Cons: Send in the rebate for both cards; Galaxy only honored one. Probably my fault for falling for the rebate gimmick (I try to avoid them for this very reason). Live and learn but I will never buy from this company again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for what I Paid

Pros: It is a great card. Very quiet especially for a blower style fan. Looks neat and will go great with my next custom build. Stays very cool at 70C at Gaming Load. Free Borderlands 2. And the card was only $20 more than a 660ti!

Cons: Adaptive vertical sync never EVER works for me i still get awful screen tearing and studders. It could be my old processor (AMD Phenom 2 X4 965 OC'ed to 4.0Ghz) But i get random awful drops in games like BF3. will not OC much over what they give you with the factory Overclock but not too shabby for the price.

Other Thoughts: I definitely need a new CPU so i cant really blame it on the card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card at a fantastic price

Pros: With the HardOCP promo and rebate this was the best price for a GTX 670 by far and it came with two additional bonuses: Borderlands 2 and the reference GTX 680 PCB.

The GTX 680 PCB should help with power delivery and OCability, and the reference 680 fan/cooler is better than the reference 670. Much nicer than the reference 670 and its tiny triscuit-sized PCB.

I bought two of these and the performance and acoustics have been great compared to my GTX 480s. Biggest difference of course with Kepler is a vast improvement in power efficiency compared to Fermi, which is certainly noticeable as well when it comes to both operating GPU temps and this card's impact on ambient room temps.

These GPUs can drive up to 4 monitors even in SLI! You don't even need to run Nvidia Surround, you can run 4 heterogenous displays with various resolutions and refresh rates at the same time even in SLI. It was not possible to drive more than 2 in SLI with older generations cards.

Cons: Can't really take off any eggs for this, but there's a pretty huge difference in max "Kepler boost" clocks between the two cards I got, even though their serial numbers are only 1 digit apart. One boosts up to 1229 and the other boosts to 1137. Galaxy clearly isn't binning the 670 GC like EVGA does with their FTW and FTW LE. So yeah its pretty much luck of the draw with these cards.

The front stickers on both cards had some smudged/scuff marks, most likely from whatever machine applied the stickers to the cards. Other vendors like EVGA usually have an additional plastic coating on the art to prevent this kind of scuffing. Purely cosmetic, but if this kind of thing bugs you just be aware.

Other Thoughts: As much acclaim as Kepler has received, I couldn't justify the launch prices both AMD and Nvidia were asking for their 28nm parts. This $300-$350 price point is really what the GTX 670 should've been selling at months ago with the GTX 680 ~$400. That said, these really are fantastic parts with a nice boost in performance along with a huge improvements in the way of power draw, heat, acoustics and operating temps.

Nvidia came through again by sweetening the deal by throwing in a bonafide AAA title before it even launched. I was able to cancel my Borderlands 2 pre-order and basically put that money towards one of these 670s. $37.50 saved making the price of one card ~$300. Can't beat that.
