5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Not much to say. I've had no problems since I bought the card, Half Life 2 runs with everything cranked to full at 1900x1200 with 4x fsaa, which is what I was after. Considering buying a second one.

5 out of 5 eggsJust plain amazing

Comments: It's simple...Doom 3, all the stuff turned on, running at 1600 X 1200. Smooth and fast. Fantastic visual quality. Worth every cent. Overclocks just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWell its a 7800GTX

Comments: Of course its great, bought this one which is basically the reference stats for the 7800GTX, the combo of price and simplicity lead me to this one, save your money one the factory overclocked ones buy this one and OC it with the provided software if you really needs to go faster than this insane card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for a new comp

Comments: This card is smokin fast. I recently built a computer around a A64 4200+, and NF4 ultra. Since the computer would never run SLI, I wanted the fastest possible. This GPU has no competition. Ultra fast, F.E.A.R. demo at full settings with AA and AS at 1600x1200.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT card for the $$$

Comments: Reference Nvidia design, which is good. I am running this card at 490/1300 right out of the box, not a single artifact or hitch in anything. Fan is VERY quiet compared to saay, an AXX long as you have half decent case ventilation. Very sweet and a gret price!

5 out of 5 eggsExellent Card

Comments: This card is blazing fast. My old rig was a:
AMD Athlon 2200+
512 MB RAM
Radeon 9700 Pro

I upgraded to a new computer:
AMD 64 4000+
1024 RAM

this card hasn't shown any signs of slow down yet. I have dual screens on, this computer hasn't had any hiccups. I am still trying to hit its limit!! AMAZING Guild Wars runs BEAUTIFULLY on this, even w/ AA on at 4x!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Comments: Great card.

- Its fast!
- It is cheaper than many other brands. Albatron is a lesser known brand that usually puts out quality products. This is is a first generation 7800GTX which is basically repainted NVidia's reference card. If you are paying more for another brand find out what exactly are you paying for.
- Its FAST >:D

- Manual is standard one for older cards. You get an extra page with general layout of 7800, but thats the only place where this card is mentioned.
- Software/games that come with the card are outdated.
- Fan is making loud noises sometimes depending on card orientation.

- Card heats alot, good case and additional fans might be a good idea.
- You will need to connect two power cables from your power supply to the card for optimal performance, which means you might run out of cables for other devices.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal!

Comments: I did a COMPLETE system overhaul with a decent (but not endless) budget. I got this card on the strength of the reviews, my positive experiences with Albatron in the past (motherboards), and the PRICE. It's the cheapest 7800GTX on NewEgg as I write this review.

So, I should tell you about my old system and new system before I tell you how incredible the difference is.

P4 3.0/800 MHz FSB (Northwood)
ATI 9800 Pro/128MB
x2 WD 80GB IDE drives
512MB Geil 3200 in dual channel
Albatron mobo

AMD 4400+ X2 (Toledo) @ 2.2 Ghz
2 Gig OCZ in dual channel (2x 1GB)
Pair of 36G raptors, mirrored in RAID, with my old 80Gs for storage
The nice ASUS A8N-SLI

Well, I wound up backing up all my files and reloading XP on my new Raptors for a clean install.

Ran into some problem with (I think) the memory at first, but I messed with the settings and that worked out. Installed drivers, windows updates, put my old software back, etc.

This is a whole new class of PC. I'm used to upgrading a video card here, CPU and mobo there, and while I could usually see SOME improvment, it generally didn't blow me away (I guess I upgraded too often).

Anyway, the card:

I usually play Star Wars Battlefront, which was always cool enough with the system I had. Not a huge difference, but no more weird hangs when playing online.

So I got Far Cry and BF2, which everyone's always gushing about. I see why!

I see everything as high as it would go (BTW, I'm using a Samsung 19" LCD). Flawless. I can't believe how smooth everything appears. I'm looking at it and wondering how much better this could really get? Aside from more realistic art, it's hard to fathom.

And my system, doesn't hang on anything. Opening Photoshop used to take 2-3 seconds... not anymore. Weird lags I'd get even opening Mozilla or something have vanished.

And to think, I could actually get another one of these cards and run them in SLi. That's disgusting.

I know people want to know more about the card itself, but since I upgraded the entire system at once, I have to factor it all in.

The install was easy (although that's good, because the manuals seem to be lousy at translating). But Albatron has always been good to me (last two boards were Albatron, this time found a better deal).

I'm VERY happy with my new rig, and this Albatron card certainly has a lot to do with it. I'll post more when I get into benchmarks and all.
