5 out of 5 eggsBest DX9 card for its buck

Pros: I bought this card about 4 months ago and am very surprised that I haven't found a game that I cant play.Part of that is due to a 2.2ghz dual core an 2 gigs of RAM,but mainly the video card.I play MOH Airborne at full settings, resolution 1280x1024 and get about 25-35 frames in intense battle, and looks great. The only game that make it chug is of course Crysis(which is the REAL test on you pc). I accept some low frame rates(low15-high40) to set all graphics setting to high except shadows(which I turn off),and resolution to 1024z768.But I highly recommend this card if your not worried about having DX10 and dont mind saying that you dont have the best hardware in the world. It is also easy and safe to overclock if you feel the need, just make sure you turn the fan up and the temp will be fine.

Cons: No DX10, not like I didnt know though!

Other Thoughts: OC GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3(DX10) only xxx.Kind of a head scratcher.Wish I would have seen this before!

5 out of 5 eggsaffordable, 256bit, low wattage

Pros: 95fps on Live For Speed.
The copper cooler it comes with is actually very quiet but I still swapped it out for the totally silent Accelero S1 cooler. For Idle/Peek wattage on this card is 20/47 while the 8800gs burns 54/116 (That's over 2x power consumption)

Cons: always out of stock

Other Thoughts: For me this card is a great substitute for an 8000 series card. It will hold me off until a 45nm 9000 gpu becomes affordable. I couldn't be happier playing LFS with this card and the Logitech G25.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: Fast, no artifacts, price.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This card is a bargain. I bought two because I was building a box for a friend too. plays UT3 very well at 12x10. Smooth. Already overclocked. A good mid-level step if you don't/can't shell out for an 8800GT+

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Factory overclocked. Very quiet fan. Excellent performance for low cost.

Cons: Not DX10. But new that before buying

Other Thoughts: I've overclocked it to 600/1800 rock solid, no artifacts with stock cooler. Could get 700+mhz gpu with voltmod and better cooler.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Nice price, super-quiet, easy installation.

Cons: not about the card itself, but Foxconn makes the rebate process for a $20 rebate as tricky as possible.

3 out of 5 eggsO.K.

Pros: Great card for the money. Bought this about 2005 for almost three times as much as it is now. Good frames on most games up to mid 2007.

Cons: Not much of an overclocker, artifacts on some models, pretty much gives out after a year or so for major gamers.

Other Thoughts: I had to get more RAM and PSU when I bought this card and that may have something to do with the frames...just a heads-up.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card is an awesome value! Smooth frames with high graphics on all my games! Though my screen only goes to 1280x1024.

Oblivion is very smooth for the most part, with most of the sliders on full (shadows off except interior and exterior) and HDR lighting. Though it has trouble in a few high-poly places, this is probably my CPU's fault which is slightly low end. I love how the characters glow in the candle light and how the cave walls look so moist and realistic.

With other cards I would occasionally get crashes and even blue screens with some especially bad ones which actually cost MORE than this card did (BFG PCI 6200 to be specific, a HORRIBLE card). But I've played Oblivion, CSS, and HL2 for atleast a few hours without ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL. I've just been waiting for a blue screen or graphical glitch, but everything works FLAWLESSLY.

Cons: The gamepad probably drives the price up a little, but its quality is excellent. Its got a nice rubber finish and fits in your hand really nicely.

Its kinda hot compared to my old GPUs but I don't care. All high performance cards are probably like this, I've only had low-end before. I leave the case open all the time anyway. No real point in closing it...

Just as long as it doesn't catch on fire (nowhere near that hot, around 50C all the time) or slow down its perfectly fine. Though it warms everything up a bit if its closed and you don't have case fans.

Other Thoughts: Haven't really overclocked, put core from 560 to 600 once just to see if I could, and it worked fine.

It already is overclocked though, the other version has a smaller cooler and lower clock speeds while this one has a cooler than blows air onto the memory.

People complaining about memory clock being half of what its supposed to: it says 700mhz instead of 1400mhz because theres 2 chips that control the VRAM, and they just added the mhz of both of them up in the description. So 700mhz is what it should be going at (memory that is).
