Pros: It gets so freaking hot, I could cook eggs on my computer case.
Cons: I purchased this for the sole reason that it's the most powerful PCI card NewEgg sells with an S-Video port. I've been using a VGA to S-Video converter for a few years hooked to my old CRT TV that works great. After upgrading my computer to Windows 7 I realized that I needed a better option than the weak onboard video I was using. W7 made my PC much quicker, but the onboard Intel graphics weren't supported. Only having PCI slots limited me to what I was able to buy. This card is completely useless for what I needed, which was a card more powerful than my onboard graphics that supports S-Video out for a primary connection. This card didn't do the trick, but it reminded me why I hate nvidia so much.
Using the nvidiot drivers, the computer would use the TV as the display until right before the logon screen. I would see the nvidia BIOS, the computer's BIOS, the Windows loading screen, and then BAM! nothing. I could VNC into the computer and work with it, but other than that; nothing.
Other Thoughts: I spent several days on nvidias website, forums, and Google trying to get this card working with the S-Video as the only connected display. Nothing worked, not even any amount of registry hacks or any version of drivers. I booted in 640x480 mode because It was acting like the resolution was set higher than the display could handle, but that wasn't it.
I uninstalled the drivers and used Microsoft's drivers for this card, which let me use the S-Video port as the only conected display. This worked, but in any video resolution I would get very choppy video/audio playback. For whatever reason, the Microsoft drivers for this card were wreaking havoc with my WLAN/LAN drivers. I was getting around 650Kb throughput through my 54Mb WLAN and 1.5Mb through my 100Mb LAN. I pulled the card out of the PC and went back to XP and the onboard video. I'm going to replace the PC shortly, and eventually the CRT with an HDTV. But for a "patch" to keep me Win 7 happy until then, this card was useless!

a good bargain

Pros: its a good card for those with low money and needs to update from integrated. Will run most new games (at least it will run "sins of a solar empire" with no trouble). in combination with a good processor and a decent amount of RAM it should hold you over during the recession. also it dosen't need a massive PSU.
Cons: due to a lack of a fan it will run hotter than most cards.
it completely obscures the next PCI slot on my motherboard so if you dont have an open slot beneath it, it wont fit
Other Thoughts: i like this product having been using a P4 2.2 Ghz with 256 mb of RAM and integrated graphics. Having upgraded the RAM and now the video card i am happy to continue using my outdated rig.
