I upgraded from an NVIDIA quadro 600 (I know that's an entry workstation card) but the difference is night and day. Point Cloud rendering is amazingly fast. If you are looking to build a workstation computer, this video card is a must have. Adobe Photoshop - Extremely smooth. I have been using Photoshop for 12 years. The V5900 Pro has elevated my speed and efficiency so much, I am getting work done almost 30% faster. The less you wait, the faster you work. If color is critical to your work, and you are buying a monitor with 95% RGB or more, you will need a video card capable of 30-bit. Revit - This is where my jaw dropped. I previously had an Nvidia video card with CUDA, It's a toy compared to the V5900. There is a slight lag during Extremely large files, but it's not very noticeable. I guess I'm used to Photoshop running so smoothly, that once I see a lag, it kinda shocks me. Other software that ran well: Autodesk Inventor Autodesk AutoCAD Autodesk Sketchbook Designer Adobe Master Collection CS5.5 (I did not try Flash Pro or Premier Pro) Cons: It took a couple hours to get it to run smoothly with my processor (3.4 Ghz i7 2600k). The HDMI was not picking up signal, but after all the necessary updates for Windows, Intel, and AMD, it hasn't had any hiccups. I keep Virtu disabled. I see no gains. It has actually caused problems (Blue Screen of Death). It can't find files, even after the latest updates. Very expensive. Almost 1/4th of my budget for the workstation tower. Other Thoughts: A perfect match with the ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q monitor. Overall I would give it a 4.5/5 15 out of 17 people found this review helpful. Did you?
