5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: * Fast and Quite
* 4 GB GDDR5

I was able to pick this up for $219.00 with 4GB GDDR5. I have not been into computer gaming in a long time but I have always been a fan of Company of Heroes. I was playing COH 2 with my old HD7770, Q8250 and 8GB of DDR2 but on medium settings with no AA and modded with shadows off. I was getting around 18-25 FPS.

I am now able to run COH2 on Ultra with AA and average around 42 FPS.

My Build:

Gigabyte 990FX MB AM3+
AMD 8350 Black Edition
8 GB DDR3 1600
SAPHIRE R9 270X 4GB
Samsung 120 GB SSD EVO
Corsair 750 Watt PSU
NZXT Guardian 921 RED

5 out of 5 eggsRuns beautifully

Pros: Amazing frame rate, can handle anything I throw at it. Hasn't crashed at all, runs quietly when idle

Cons: Gets a little louder when under heavy use, but it's not that big a deal.

Other Thoughts: If you can, match AMD graphics with AMD CPU. Runs much better in my opinion.

5 out of 5 eggsdual monitors are go

Pros: went with this card for dual monitors. i dont game heavy mostly play LoL and tribes accend. run both at 1920x1080 with high/max settings and sit at 60 fps 100% of the time. card is quiet and stays really cool evne when gaming.

Cons: there wasnt a hot sapphire chick on the box. just a robot. :(

Other Thoughts: if oyu plan on using dual monitors on 1 card then this is your card.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy

Pros: Runs games on ultra with no problems at 60+ fps. 4GB. Small form factor to fit in smaller cases. Far quieter and cooler than my old crossfire HD5770's. Max temp so far has been 72c. No stuttering in Battlefield 4 on Mantle: 75-110 fps on ultra using 14.2 drivers. BF4 Mantle is also using more than 2GB, so the 4GB version is recommended. I've seen BF4 use as much as 3.5GB while gaming, using MSI afterburner to monitor the essentials. Cant wait to get a second one for crossfire.

Cons: $100 price drop a week after I bought it. :(

Other Thoughts: My system:
Intel i7 3820 @ 4.5 Ghz
ASUS ROG Rampage IV Gene Socket 2011
8GB G-Skill Sniper DDR3 1866 @ 2000 XMP
Sapphire R9 270X 4GB
Thermaltake Smart M 850W
Noctua D14 Cooler

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: This card is great! If you can get it at a great price, than good job! I got this card when it was $250 and another one when it was $220. It runs all my games I play on ultra with good frame rates. Now I'm crossfiring 2 of these babies for less than $500 with 8gb of vram. The power connectors are on the side (other side of where the outputs are at) which is great for a clean build!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Wish it had a led light in the Sapphire logo.

5 out of 5 eggsGood GPU for first PC build

Pros: Great for the price. I was building my first gaming PC and when I finally got it up and running, this thing plays everything I own maxed out so I'm happy

Cons: Less of a con, but more of an inconvenience, I had to remove part of the back of my case to get it to fit in my case, but that sounds more like a common problem with a lot of cards.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome card for the price!

Pros: This is a very nice GPU!

My Rig was using a Sapphire HD6970 but I was wanting to upgrade to a GPU that took advantage of AMD Mantle without breaking the bank. This card hit that sweet spot.

The 4GB of RAM is an awesome buffer. this edition of the 270x was only $20.00 more than the 2GB edition. It seemed like a no brainer, 20bux for an extra 2GB of video ram, .... sweet!!!

Also, my card runs really cool. I get an idle 30*c and about 65*c while gaming using stock profiles.

Cons: The only con is that, there is no ability to expand beyond 2-way crossfire. It only has one crossfire finger on the card only allowing for one crossfire bridge inter-connect. But I knew this going into the purchase and really is a non-issue.

Other Thoughts: In other thoughts, I've used Sapphire for a very long time.... They have never let me down... Never received a card with "coil whine" and never a DOA. It may just be the luck of the draw, but I'm talking like I've had over 25 different Sapphire GPU's and not a single one has arrived bad or died on me. I really like Sapphire and would recommend their GPU's to anyone.

As far as trying to "overclock" this card, it hasn't even crossed my mind. Even though the cooler keeps this card cool, I don't want to push the limits for a couple extra FPS. It's just not worth it IMO, but hey, if you're into that, more power to ya!

Speaking of FPS, i'm getting some really nice numbers. I game at 1920x1080 and on all of my games I'm able to hit that magical 60FPS and lock vsync. However, if you like all the eye candy and attempt 3D at 120 FPS, you will need 2 of these if crossfire and crossfire doesn't always scale well for all games. It may be hard to get 120 FPS even in Crossfire so I wouldn't recommend this card for 3D gaming.

Gaming at 1920x1080? This is the card for you as the card like 290's and even the 280 are geared towards higher resolutions.

As always, NewEgg shipped fast and secure!

And of course, the Sapphire 4gb r9 270x

5 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: 60FPS in Battlefield 4 at 1920x1200 on Ultra settings -running the 13.12 drivers on a PCIe 2.0 interface.

I can't complain.

Looking forward to what Mantle might bring someday.

Cons: None so far.
