Very Solid Product
- Pros: Very good performance. Benched it with one and with two. O/Cs to 900/1100. My 8800 gts 320mb card got 13660 on 3dmark06 and this item got 14205 and 18250 in crossfire. I am still waiting on my qx9650 as this was benched at 3.6ghz with a q6600. They run extremely cool at 60c.
- Cons: Some of my benchmarks could not complete, maybe b/c of crossfire support, not a con on the card though. Took up the entire inside of my antec 900.
- Other Thoughts: None really, if anyone after this post would reply with one on how the o/ced the card and what they used. I so far only used riva turner, catalyst control center doesnt give enought options.
Works Great
- Pros: Came with a Free T-Shirt! Woot! Works great, no problems hooking it up, runs fine, no problems with heat. No problems with dust clogging anything, and I live in the dustiest room in the house. Runs CoD4 (yes, it's not Crysis, but meh) great (I have some problems with multi lagging when on full, but single works great). Came with Black Box.
- Cons: Is definitely large, so be aware of that. Nothing else I can think of at the moment.
- Other Thoughts: Still debating whether to get another one and put them in crossfire...man that would be sweet.
Hey People
- Pros: This is not Gecubes first offering of the 3870. In fact, a week or so after I bought their first one, the egg took it off the catalog. Now they have this. I don't see the difference, but It's a great medium card. If you don't game and have great res on your monitor, you will love this. If you game, I hope you have a 6400x2 or better with a gr8 hdd and ram.
I use an overclocked 5600x2 and got a lil over 1100 3dmark06. Would love to try x fire, but new build will go other way.
- Cons: The darn fan does'nt automatically increase. The fact that people buy direct x 10 stuff and not use vista Hp or Xp 64. People that use Xp and complain about vista.
- Other Thoughts: Just loading up crysis and starting to play will take the temps into mid 40's c, let alone playing for 5 min's. I get good cooling by using rtuner and settign fan at a minimum of 70%. Some less demanding games will take a lessor fan speed to keep it in the mid 30'c celsius. If you just surf the web, still put it at 50% and that will keep it at about 35c, otherwise it will hit 47c easy without intervention. Keeping things as cool as possible is what we're here for. *Asus M3A mobo, Amd 5600x2, ballistix ddr2 6400 (a lil OC'd) at 2 gigs, seagate 500gig w/32mb cache(darn good),dvd thing, antec 900 (the best mid tower), a psu and Gecube 3870 original version bought here on the egg, and vista Hp 32 bit.(need the 64 bit version though, but will use it on next build soonest)
