Pros: ive had this card for just now over 3 yrs, never had issues with it.. except slight heat lvls.. fixed with new paste compound.

Cons: overheated over the years due to needing new compound

Other Thoughts: To those who say this is a low end card, i think they need there heads examined i havent found cept maybe one game that bogged this card down... n that was only cause i had it on max settings

2 out of 5 eggsDo not buy.

Pros: Displays video and some games well.

Cons: Most modern games will result in a BSOD. COmplete system crash. I can understand, and even accept game crashing, but not system crashing.

Other Thoughts: This is a low end card, not a middle of the road card.

2 out of 5 eggsnot the first time a german has done something wrong

Pros: i can run any game on the market for at least 20 minutes, most games dont crash and its got hdmi input.

Cons: anything with anti alising can and will get artifact errors and crash the whole system, no borderlands for you if you get this, or battlefield bad company 2. i have been reduced to playing wow.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good.

Pros: Fair value for the the price point.
Efficient: didn't need to upgrade my PS.
Relatively small: fit in a mid-tower without ruining air flow or cable routing.
Works with Win 7 Pro 64 and did from day 1.
In a case with reasonable ventilation, the fan speed stays slow and quiet (if you keep the heatsinks clean).
HDCP compliant (using Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra and Slysoft AnyDVD HD- plays EVERYTHING without a hitch). Plays most games at reasonable resolutions.
I have had three crash issues with this card, but all were driver related, and corrected by updates. The latest is very stable.

Cons: Frogs...... small, inoffensive, and not terribly brilliant creatures: the corporate mascot looks like Kermit's medieval ancestor, and lacks both sexiness and the ability to inspire any expectation of powerful performance.

The card vents internally to the computer as well as through the escutcheon at the rear- install only in cases with a slight internal overpressure or good ventilation. Otherwise, your components (and their fans) may find themselves running hotter and more noisily than they'd like to- and not for as long as you might like, either. Heat kills.

Other Thoughts: Simple to install, pretty cheap, very stable. What's not to like?

5 out of 5 eggsOutdated

Pros: Palit made this card well. GTS 250 cards are good performers. I wouldn't call this or any gts250 a gaming card. All the gts 250s that I've installed are still going strong. A good general purpose card imho.

Cons: absolutely not worth $125. Not much real life difference between a 512 MB and a 1 Gig. strictly an outdated video card with avg. performance (compared to today's selection). This card is valued at $100 or less.

Other Thoughts: This or any GTS250 card will handle more than any 2 core cpu can dish up. As of this writing one of the best deals that I've seen for a good gaming card is the ATI 6850 - $180 .... If the price comes down on this card and you need something with a little more power by all means buy it. It appears to be a reliable video card.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent mid-level card

Pros: Very good gaming performance
Low power consumption, works well with modest power supplies
Reliable installation with Win XP SP3

Cons: Package graphics are a bit silly
Not the best looking card on the market
Rebate requirements loaded with "gotchas"...hope I jumped through all the hoops correctly!

Other Thoughts: This card has it where it counts: Performance. With a rebate, it's a very good value. At full price, there are plenty of good alternatives with similar performance, so shop carefully based on current pricing.

3 out of 5 eggsLasted Six Months

Pros: Ran games like Batman: Arkham Asylum very well along with lots of flight simulators.

Cons: Lasted six months. Fan is tiny and not very effective. Card overheats and screen locks up, making a hard restart the only option to get things going again.

Other Thoughts: Good mid-range card...if it lasts.

5 out of 5 eggsGood low-end card

Pros: *Inexpensive for a well made card. I was worried because I've never owned anything by Palit before, but the card has good cooling and runs cool and quiet.
*Good performance per dollar.

Cons: *Not much reason to own one over the newer GTS450.
*Definitely a low end card, so don't expect to play newer games on anything better than medium/high without AA.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, the GTS250 has been superceeded by the fermi-based GTS450 - the only reason I own this card is that I took a gamble and bought one as an open box item for $80. Still, it's a very decent low range card, as it can play Starcraft 2 on high (ultra gets way too choppy during large battles in MP), and both Stalker: COP and Just Cause 2 run with most of the visual goodies turned on at >30 fps.

I was worried that the "E-Green" thing might mean the card was undervolted, but this is a bog standard GTS250 with a moderate underclock. I'm running with the Nvidia defaults of Core: 738 MHz, Mem: 1100MHz, Shaders: 1836 MHz right now and there's still room to overclock a little with this card's decent cooling.

Also, since I have a BTX system I managed to pretty easily convert the cooler to a single slot! I just removed the endplate and cut it in half with a dremel, then removed the shroud and attached the fan to the heatsink with zip ties. Fits perfectly with zero change in temps!

5 out of 5 eggsdoes exactly what I needed for

Pros: price is amazingly low compared with other brands, the card plays starcraft 2 with the ultimate settings, and it runs just fine, and finally the card has CUDA.

Cons: I need fans in my small case.

Other Thoughts: I was looking into NVIDIA cards for their CUDA since I am taking a class teaching it. I was disappointed with the high cost of the GTX460, but talking to a friend who had the same card of this one (GS250) I decided this would do everything that I was hoping for.
