Great price, does its job.
- Pros: I needed a cheap video card for my little brother’s computer but also one that could perform at a respectable level. I was amazed at the heat sink on this card, it’s huge! But it fits in perfect in a case and doesn’t take up much space. I actually upgrade an Optiplex GX620 with this video card and now I can run games like Counter Strike: Source and Guild Wars at high graphics smoothly. Cheap, does its job, what else can I say...
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Again this was a good upgrade for my little brothers Optiplex GX620 running 2GB of RAM and 3.0GHZ P4HT and we are able to run Counter Strike Source and Guild Wars at high graphic settings, hopefully this gives you an example of what kind of performance this card can produce.
- Pros: Inexpensive
- Cons: The heatsink is huge and covered the adjacent PCI slot in my microATX board. I am returning it as I can't give up the PCI slot.
- Pros: This is a decent card. It enabled me to run Sims 3 on max settings fluidly, even though I have a terrible processor. It even manages to run Crysis on medium/high settings. Not a bad upgrade for under $50. It is fanless which means silent, not bad considering my old 7600gt was the loudest component in my case (and I mean LOUDest) and the noise difference is very nice.
- Cons: This baby runs HOTTTT! The heatsink is insufficient and touching it while playing games is enough to burn you. May not be an issue if you have high quality case cooling. However, the heat is enough of an issue that after an hour or so of gaming or video oriented workloads, the heat noticeably affects performance, even to the point of display malfunctions.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, if you're looking to upgrade your system for super cheap and aren't expecting too much from this 9500, then I highly recommend it. It has taken loads off my old, slow processor. This 9500 is a substantial upgrade from my 7600. Its also enabled me to play WiC, Oblivion, FEAR, BnW II, L4D, etc., all maxed out and fluid. Overall...satisfied.
