Well...
- Pros: Card runs absolutely anything I put in, Absolutely maxed out. Granted, i am running at 1024x768...but anyways, its a great card.
- Cons: The reason i gave this card 3 eggs, is because of the immense cooling problems i had. At first the fan in the card didn't work. It was grinding up against the front cover of the card. so i took apart the card, and noticed that two of the three mounting brackets for the fan were GONE!!! I tried everything, rubber bands, tape and anything under the sun. But still, the fan just kept grinding away. So i had a red led coolermaster 80mm fan lying around, and i taped it over the fan slot. it worked for about 20 minutes in a game, then the card just shut off. I took apart the card again, and realized that not only was the card missing screws, it was missing thermal tape over one of the memory chips!!! So i took off all the other thermal tape, and applied some arctic silver 5 to the memory and the gpu, and now it runs exceptionally cool. Thank you newegg and walmart for 80mm fans, electrical tape and good ol' fashioned arctic silver 5.
- Other Thoughts: If you read the entire con section, you deserve a medal.
I really do like this card, now that it works. i guess i'm the only one to have this problem so far, or at least the first to report it. Specs: mobo:gigabyte ga-ep45-ds3l gpu-zotac gts 250 cpu-intel c2d e8400 ram: 4 gigs ddr2 1066 seagate barracuda hdd lg burner 600w psu Thank you coolermaster for your awesome fans.
Excellent
- Pros: Everything..great card runs cool all games on high to utlra high..Zotac Firestorm utility is great!
Price was more than a bargain, would by again for sure!
- Cons: Zotac could drop the price of the 260 a little aswell ;p
- Other Thoughts: Why use Evga Precision when you can use the Firestorm utility by Zotac...
haven't been disappointed.
- Pros: This card has dropped in price considerably. It's so good that even not saving a bunch I got a really good price to performance ratio. Translation: Great Bang for the buck! I've run Crysis in high settings and the game looks good, plays smooth. Fallout3 looks, plays good.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: I hate the idea of sli, I think any card you should get enough performance in a single card. This inexpensive card has pushed 1680x 1050 resolution in games no problem.
I'm running a p45 Gigabyte board with E8400 cpu. modest rig, but nice.
