4 out of 5 eggsNice upgrade card

Pros: Nice card for the money. I am using it on a HP Compaq DC7700. Works fine with a Core2Duo.

Cons: None really. Better than the onboard graphics in my system. Can play some games such as Dead Space and Left4Dead on lower settings.

Other Thoughts: Works with more than just Atom processors. My experience index in Windows 7 is 4.8 for graphics and 4.5 for gaming graphics and thats better than alot of laptops.

1 out of 5 eggsFOR USE WITH ATOM D410 OR D510 CPUS

Pros: None that are product related.

Cons: Didn't work in my AMD system.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure about the guy in another review post that got this card to work in a couple AMD based systems, but I do know it wouldn't work in mine. Simply incompatible I guess. Please read the Zotac product page and verify that its for Atom cpus before you buy. Hopefully Newegg will update the details section to also mention this

4 out of 5 eggsGreat low power dual display option

Pros: Great for applications where you have very little power to spare. We use these to get dual display ability on our stock desktops that are SFF with a 230W psu. No problems so far in the machines where we've rolled these out.

Cons: Not so much a con but don't expect to be gaming with this card its and ion so know its limits and it works well. Orienting the ribbon cable for mounting in a SFF chasis can be confusing since it is not labled or notated anywherer on the pinout. If it doesn't display on the vga out put first try swapping the direction of the ribbon cable before you RMA the card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PCIe x1 card

Pros: easy install, great HD output, low power consumption, silent

Cons: none for what this is designed

Other Thoughts: Great HD on my 27" Samsung monitor (now working as a online TV), perfect for my ITX build with only 1 x PCIe x1

4 out of 5 eggsdecent for f2p games

Pros: uses 18 watt, that's a plus. bang for your buck, but high end gaming takes a back seat....

Cons: core clock is 589 and shader clock...nuff said. to slow. wish it came in a 810 core clock and 1620 shader...

Other Thoughts: when i got it, it was just called ion....now they tacked on geforce 218...i don't remember what the original memory inter face is...

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work with Linux

Pros: Works with Windows 8 consumer preview's "Microsoft Basic Display Driver".

Cons: I ordered this card because I thought it would work 1. with Linux, 2. with my Dell PowerEdge T100.

Unfortunately, Linux (Scientific Linux 6.2) locks up when it tries to use this graphics cards, regardless of whether it uses the nouveau driver, the VGA driver, or the NVidia proprietary driver. It does work in text mode without locking up.

I'm going to give Fedora 17 beta a spin to see if it works any better.

I installed the nVidia 296.10 driver from Zotac in Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and although it installed, it didn't seem to be loaded after reboot. I haven't tried it with Windows 7.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks on non-Atom Systems

Pros: Improves on the integrated video on many systems. Easy installation.

Cons: Not for even semi-serious gamers.

Other Thoughts: I installed this card in the X1 slots of two different Mini ITX motherboards running Athlon X2 processors. No issues. Easy installs.

4 out of 5 eggsOnly for Atom CPUs

Pros: Inexpensive Card, Dual Display Capable.

Cons: This Card is Only for Intel Atom CPUs. It will not work in many systems. The box says "For use with Atom D410 or D510 CPUs" and Zotac on their website calls it an "Accesory" rather than a video card. I bought this to go in a SuperMicro barebones server bought from NewEgg that only had PCIe x4 and x8 slots (i.e. not able to fit a x16 Card). So a PCIe x1 card (or a ugly adapter from a popular on-line auction site) was the only choice to put dual head digital displays on this box.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg customer support was awesome as usual. They refunded the purchase, waived the restocking charge and sent me UPS labels. The have also asked that the description or category be changed so others don't make the same mistake.

4 out of 5 eggsCompatibility

Pros: Already stated in other reviews

Cons: Just see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card to install in a factory DELL Dimension e310 series desktop (Revive an older comp). For some reason, the MB dll controller won't allow the PCIe - x1 slot to recognize a graphic adapater, only a sound card. (After researching for HOURS...ugh). I'm trying to solve an issue with Intel (possible BIOS update to have dll controllers correctly recognize add-in cards) and Zotac (for maybe a firmware update).
This card in a DELL e310 series desktop will cause
a Memory Parity error (other wise known as blue screen of death). Incompatible for the time being. No dis against the card, however!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent card but, not for a solid HTPC

Pros: Small form factor. Light-weight and solid build quality. Came with 3 brackets. 2 Low-profile (1 for DVI & HDMI, 1 for VGA) and 1 for full-size use. Displays Aero in Windows 7 x64 so it does have some power. Fairly quiet, especially since most small fans are whiny beasts. Audio out via HDMI up to 7.1. PCIe x1

Cons: Poor HD video output quality. They claim "Flawless 1080p on sites like YouTube HD or from Blu-Ray discs" but I got passable quality 720p (still glitchy and laggy but, no major shuttering) but 1080p was just unwatchable.

The price is also FAR too steep for what the card is.

Other Thoughts: If you need a PCIe x1 card, get a flex-riser (on that auction site. they ship from HK but are <$5) that connects to x1 and has an x16 slot on the opposite side and buy a low-profile x16 card for far cheaper. You obviously will only get x1 performance but you'll save a fair bit of change. Some modding required of a spare blank PCI bracket but you'll have a much better card at a much smaller price. Note: I have this card in one machine and the aforementioned setup in a primary machine for HD video streaming and this card only gets used for SD TV Shows or DVD's but even with DVD's, the video stutters occasionally.
