Pros: Has been working good for some time now. Seems to be without problems. Have basic cable split and plugged into both inputs. Can't remember exactly how, but was able to get all the QAM channels in vista media center but the guide will not stay set to showing the guide for QAM channels even after setting it all up, for some reason the guide resets and channels are blank...still working on that.
Picture quality is pretty good, mostly watch analog cable channels on 42" television. HD picture quality is amazing. After reading reviews of other cards, just want to say that this one changes channels quickly...do not notice any delay (am using Vista Home Premium's Media Center and 2.5 dual core/4g/7600 graphics).
Cons: A problem I encountered at first was that the picture when watching television in Media Center did not fit the screen. A bit of a puzzle but found that simply using the mouse and right clicking on the picture itself gives the options to change settings.
There was a bit of set up that had to be done using avermedia software, maybe it was for the QAM channels. After that, the card is completely controlled by Media Center.
Some said in reviews of this card that it gets hot. It does get too hot to touch. It seems to be fine though, my case is a small case and only one 80mm fan. I have all the fans in the case running very slow to make it quiet. The little card seems very hot but machine has been running 24/7 without a problem.
Other Thoughts: This installed into system specifically running a 42" tv and surround sound sytem...it's awesome. Control is with a bluetooth mini keyboard (3.5" x 6")..it was all very easy to set up and I absolutely love using this system to control movies/television/music/screensavers on the television. HTPC is the way to go and this is a perfect tuner card for building one.

Absolute BEST pci/e tuner

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I bought it for ATSC/QAM, then for NTSC cable, and this tuner exceeded my expectations. Very good video quality, especially on ATSC ota w/uhf antenna.
Cons: Haven't found any, other than MCE doesn't use QAM, but that's not the tuner... Thats Microsoft.
Other Thoughts: I have the MCE remote, so didn't need to buy a remote with the card, so can't comment on this. The 'white box' version of this card works very good. I did the AverMedia MCE after disabling MCE in XP, and it did 14 QAM cable channels... 10 'infomercials' and 4 general channels, from the satellites. But, it's still 14 QAM un-encrypted channels!
Overall, I'd buy this one again. It does the job better than the ATI or Happaugge tuners do... And I have both 'high end' from both. This tuner is the best, the others don't even come close in video quality.

Pros: Works with Win7 x64 Media Center, Tech Support
Cons: nada
Other Thoughts: I bought this to use with x64 Win7 Media Center capture card and it worked right out of the box after i installed the latest driver from the Avermedia site. I cannot review it's actual tuner function as i have to tune my STB manually (Directtv).
I can, however, say that Avermedia Tech Support is outstanding. I had made an elemental mistake (this tuner replaced another and i forgot to re-run the TV signal set-up) and I called them. On a Toll free number. The call was answered on the first ring...no voice menu. By a real Tech Specialist. Who was American. Who actually knew the product! Does anybody else still do this??? Thanks Avermedia and whenever I have need of a product you make, I will not look further!
PS, the tuner it replaced was made by MSI, and their Tech Support is the worst I have ever encountered in my life. Rude, unprofessional, unintelligible Chinese with ZERO knowledge of their products. NEVER gonna buy MSI again.

A Win 7 64 Bit Winner!

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: I've never been as thrilled with a product as this one! Those of you who've gone through weeks of agony trying to get other tuner cards to give you full functionality in Windows Media Center might find your answer here. I think the secret is the combination design. Two separate tuners which each do one thing only and most importantly have their own separate input connections on the back of the card. In my case this allowed me to hook up my good old 'basic/analog' cable service and get fantastic high-definition qam reception for the first time. I was also able to use my new cable box (required now by some cable companies even for basic channels which didn't used to need it) to receive my traditional lineup. Under the impression that 'hybrid' type tuners which have a single input on the back don't work well with cable boxes. You can set them up to work with the box, but you won't get qam. Or vice-versa.
Cons: Ha! I'd have given this 10 'eggs' if allowed!
Other Thoughts: Worked perfectly with Win 7 64, including an automatic driver installation. Couldn't have been easier. For those with a similar situation to mine, the basic physical hook-up is to connect the cable from your wall to a two-way splitter. Connect one cable from the splitter directly to the 'antenna' input. (When you do the media center setup you'll tell it you have an antenna even though you don't, and when it asks you'll say it's a 'digital antenna'. This will get you the qam channels which are sometimes in glorious HD. Hook the other cable from your splitter into your cable box, and that into the TV input of the tuner card. (During the Windows setup when it asks what your second tuner is, this time you say 'cable'.) Please check out the big 'M's information on using the IR receiver and 'blaster' cable with your cable box if you're not familiar with this. (Newegg set a world record with the shipping on this one, so thanks to them as always.)
