Pros: works like advertised, easy to setup with included CD,shows movies fm PC to large screen TV with clarity ... great deal for the price

Cons: user should check TV input (male/female)..... output on this unit is FEMALE and my TV input is FEMALE .... solution was to purchase MALE to MALE connecter ($11)

Other Thoughts: took 7 days delivery, but holdup was in postal service in Phoenix (3 days)

2 out of 5 eggsGood when they work.

Pros: Great way to get external monitors when only option is USB.

Cons: Bought three, two drop out and do not work intermittently.

Other Thoughts: I have three UV 16+ and have had them for over a year and half, they work flawlessly. I bought three 19+ and had to return one after a week, now a second one is going out and its only been 2 months.

IMO the 16's are much better than the 19's.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacing my other review

Pros: So far it works pretty well, it does fine once you get a window where you want it. It lags a bit when moving windows around, and isn't meant for video, but for writing code and browsing the web it works pretty well.

Can push a either my 2048x1152 or 1920x1080 display which is great. Works well under Mac OS X (Lion). Also is able to run a rotated display if you obtain the drivers which at the time of this review are in alpha

Cons: none, anymore!

Other Thoughts: Please disregard my earlier review, it was before I discovered the alpha drivers. It was written as N/A and also mentions my 2048x1152 monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks pretty well

Pros: So far it works pretty well, it does fine once you get a window where you want it. It lags a bit when moving windows around, and isn't meant for video, but for writing code and browsing the web it works pretty well.

Can push a 2048x1152 display which is great because that's what my monitor is. Works well under Mac OS X (Lion).

Cons: Docking one Egg because it doesnt tell you that it cannot run a rotated display, was planning on running a portrait style monitor off of this.

Also would be nice if you could run a wall power adapter to it to give it a bit more juice.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Product

Pros: Easy to install, great video quality without adding another video card

Cons: Only one monitor per Display adapter

Other Thoughts: I daytrade stocks and need multiple monitors. I have added three video cards to my system and am out of slots. I was looking at building a new system to accomodate the two new monitors that I needed but then I came upon this product. I purchased 2 of them, one for each of the two monitors giving a total of eight monitors on my system now.

The unit is of very high quality and is very easy to install. I run windows 7, so there was no configuration or setup at all. I just plugged in the unit and attached the new monitors (one per adapter) and the system installed all the software automatically. I did have to select to extend my desktop to the new monitors in the control panel but other than that there was noo installation required.

The units have had no problems. I run streaming java through them but have on occasion watched movies through them and have had no issues.

I dont understand the stackable feature, the devices dont cross communicate. You need a USB for each. I have 2.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Device

Pros: The device just works over a year later

Cons: Not built for games or high frame rate applications.

Other Thoughts: This is for normal day-to-day application and not for games with high frame rates. Pair this up with UltraMon and you are good to go.

2 out of 5 eggsHad to quit using it

Pros: Great to have three monitors including my laptop.

Cons: On Windows 7, something would happen and my whole system would become extremely unresponsive. I would have to disconnect the USB and reconnect in order to have a working system for a few hours.

Also, you have to plug it directly to a USB port and not thru a docking station, which I could live with but I can't take the slowness any more. I have updated my graphics card driver of my Dell XPM M1530 which helped a lot in the beginning. I've also updated the driver of the USB display adapter as well but it still hangs, which REALLY sucks because I don't have another option of adding an additional internal graphics card for three monitors.

I really wanted this to work and have suffered through the slow response for 5 months but have finally thrown in the towel.

I have a colleague that has the +16 that is running fine on an XP laptop. I may try to switch with them to see if the +16 works on my Windows 7 Ultimate laptop. I'll update the review if there is a difference. bummer

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Please make sure you are plugging directly into the USB port on the PC, avoiding hubs or extensions. In some cases it may be necessary to use the USB ports along the backside of the PC.

If the problem persists please contact us directly at 888-880-3842

Thanks,
Jacob

5 out of 5 eggsGreat with Mac

Pros: I had the UV Plus 16 on a monitor that supported 1920x1200. It looked horrible. I already had the most updated Mac OS X drivers installed. I just unplugged the UV 16 and plugged in the UV 19 and the native resolution worked perfectly.

Cons: No cons to list.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Easy way to add a third monitor at work without modifying the computer. Works great - can even handle video just fine. No lag that I can notice...I really was amazed that a monitor could be run so smoothly off of USB, but it definitely works very well! I wouldn't use it for gaming, but for email/documents you can't beat it. The USB cable is even retractable, if that interests you.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsUV19 Review

Pros: Safe is you have no computer knowledge.(no need to open pc)

Small.

Fast & easy to connect.

Cons: Laggy!!!! Even at 1280x1024 it's choppy!!!

When I connected my 1080p tv to it , it was way too choppy to enjoy a movie!! So i ended up connecting UV19 to 2nd monitor.

Might as well buy a 2nd video card! if you have room!

Sometimes my PC gets confused! Monitor connected to UV19 blinks/flashes. Sometimes after boot, if you put icons on UV19 connected monitor you will loose them (they get transferred to first monitor, so you have to constantly re-arrange them!!)

Other Thoughts: Should have purchased a 2nd internal video card.
For a user who constantly uses 2 or more monitors I recommend buying a second video card if possible. This product is more for a laptop user due to it's poor performance.
