3 out of 5 eggsComcast?

Pros: OK price

Cons: Dual coax inputs
No Comcast

Other Thoughts: I really needed a PCI tuner and this was the cheapest I could find. This card picks up OTA digital well. The tuner is not tolerant of low/weak signal at all. My Hauppauge is far superior in every respect. Recording with this card pegs the CPU ~35% (Athlonx2 3600+ 2gig RAM WIN 7). Live and playback is slightly lower at ~25%. I simply could not get the tuner to pick up cComcast. I tried it all. No joy. This isn't special Comcast either just the cheap $5/mo bundled with internet. I'm quite certain it is not digital. My old TV picks it up but not this card. Really strange.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid MCE tuner

Pros: Bought from Newegg 1 year ago and it's perfect. The HTPC it's in is used non stop and it's been flawless. Plugged in, MCE ran it's channel scan, and was done. Also a well designed remote makes my "tech ignorant" roommate happy as well.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The included viewing software is garbage, but you should be using either windows media center or myth TV anyway.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: technically it works? digital quality is ok.

Cons: analog quality is very grainy, to the point were i dont want to watch it. even with my dreamcast/xbox on the composite connectors is too bad looking to enjoy playing. can not map both analog and digital channels, must map one at a time then rescan. does not work with media center on vista. was not worth the savings, just get a quality tuner card and avoid this headache. some digital channels lag dispite being in a system with a 2.8ghz tricore, with 8gb of ram, and a 8800gts 512.

Other Thoughts: at first i thought the problem was noise from my 8800gts but after swapping it into 2 other computers i realized its just bad quality tuner card. and after i get a better one it will be a nice $55 paper weight.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: The card is very inexpensive and does a great job compared to other cards I've seen that are a driver nightmare. This card works great on XP, Vista, and even 7 without doing much work. Setup and channel search is very easy and only takes a couple of minutes.

Cons: I don't know who had the bright idea to have the TV software focus on the primary screen without a chance of moving it to a secondary, so if you watch TV you'll have to do your work on one of your other screens chasing your task bar and icons.

Other Thoughts: Functions take a minute to figure out but no biggie.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent DVR for the price

Pros: Easy to install, just be sure to follow the instructions included on the CD-Rom (not the paper manual that comes with it). Resolution is great on my 47" TV. Compared side-by-side with the cable and barely noticed a difference.

Cons: TV Guide feature doesn't work for analog channels.

Other Thoughts: Time-shift causes a lot of lag with the digital channels, but not with the analog. I turn this feature off and get better results on the HD stations.

For the price this card can't be beat!

1 out of 5 eggsI was wrong

Pros: None anymore

Cons: After owning it a few weeks it caused a BSOD - Reboot. Afterwards, No color (Colour for you folks north of the border) Just black and white. I tried reloading the drivers, Nada. I installed it in another system, same results. I won't RMA it, as I don't want another.

Other Thoughts: This is the second hybrid card by a different manufacturer that has turned out to be junk. Both have the same chipset, both use the same junk software.

4 out of 5 eggsA lttle better

Pros: Clear picture, Remote works but not all of it's features.

Cons: 11% cpu usage, about twice as much as non hybrid cards.

Other Thoughts: This tuner is the same as the As** PS3-110 except the remote actually works. Same garbage software and all.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card

Pros: Digital / Analog TV on your computer, Remote Control, Works well with VLC media player as well. Plays is surround sound stereo on my system. CC display works!

Cons: TV guide function does't work as far as I can tell. I have a P4 2.8ghz with 64MB AGP video 1.5GB Ram. I can watch analog TV fine, but my computer is too slow for watching the HD channels in FullHD 1080 resolution. Too choppy on this system. I would assume you need a more modern setup to get a good result with this (3.2ghz HT CPU with agp 8x or better) Any basic Dual-Core processor with PCI-E video card would be fine.

Other Thoughts: Good buy for the money for a PCI card.
