4 out of 5 eggsReasonably priced and worked with little trouble

Pros: Worked for my client -- was able to interface a new Server with old tech using this.

Cons: Took a restart and an explainable 15 minute wait before I was able to see the port this added. Once it saw it, though, setup was a breeze.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you restart once after hardware install, power up, and software install (instructions are adequate)...then maybe try manually refreshing device manager so you won't have to wait around like I did. Worked in Windows 10 for me.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Wonderful. I have been wrestling with a cyber power ups with a serial interface for almost 3 years now. My computer would only sometimes recognize the UPS using the provided serial to usb adapter. Win7 64bit.
Installed this card and it immediately recognized the ups.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and easy

Pros: Bought this for console access to other hardware. The low profile adapter was a must. The packaging said compatible with x86 and x64 windows 7. Plugged into a windows 8.1 Pro x64 machine and windows installed flawlessly.

Cons: None to note.

5 out of 5 eggsWin 7 Pro 64 bit driver update

Pros: An update to rkb's review on 6/17/10, the supplied CD install disc now includes the current driver for Win 7 Pro 64 bit. It installed perfectly and works fine. The driver on the disc is the current Ver 2.0.3.0. I checked the asix.com.tw/download page for the MCS9901 driver and their file Windows 8.1/8.0/7/Vista/XP 64-bit Driver is also Ver 2.0.3.0. Use this website to check for future versions.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You can't beat the price with free shipping.

Other Thoughts: Ordered 10 so far, ordering 6 more soon. Using with XP for the moment, will be moving up to 7 in a few months.

4 out of 5 eggsWindow 7 64-bit Compatibility

Pros: Works fine under Win7 64-bit with v1.0.0.10 drivers downloaded directly from the chipset maker. Go to moschip.com and search for dirvers for the MCS9901 chipset. Get the WHQL certified Windows driver set.

Cons: Will not work under Windows 7 64-bit with supplied drivers (or the drivers downloaded from Syba) due to driver signing enforcement under 64-bit Windows 7.

Other Thoughts: Cheap, works fine to add an old-fashioned serial port to new "no-legacy-port" motherboards.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat happened to "Plug and Play"?

Pros: none so far

Cons: I've tried both of the units I purchased in two seperate XPsp2 computers in multiple pcie slots. My dell will not even boot with these cards installed. (bought 2) My AMD will boot if I find exactly the right place in the slot for the card. I bought these because a usb to serial adapter wouldn't work. Silly me I thought these might actually be "Plug and Play"
